Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

The Return to Korea

As Jaehyun sifted through the last stack of documents, his gaze sharpened, reflecting the weight of the years that had passed. Seated behind his sleek mahogany desk, the soft glow of the city lights filled his office, casting long, sharp shadows on the polished floor.

Before him, stacks of meticulously organized files lay neatly, each one a testament to his relentless ambition and preparation. A decade's worth of investigation and strategy had finally brought him to the truth he had long suspected. The culmination of it all rested in his hands.

Jaehyun had aged with a commanding grace, his face clean-shaven and sharp. His chiseled features—strong jawline, cold calculating eyes—gave away little emotion but reflected the hard-earned wisdom of betrayal and survival.

His dark hair was styled with precision, short and perfectly parted, enhancing his air of refined control. Dressed in an impeccably tailored charcoal suit that hugged his tall, powerful frame, he exuded an aura of untouchable authority and sophistication.

Leaning back in his leather chair, Jaehyun exhaled slowly, the tension that had gripped him for years loosening ever so slightly. "Finally... it's time to go back," he murmured, his voice cold and edged with the weight of his resolve.

With deliberate, precise movements, he stood up from behind his imposing desk. The glow of the city below reflected the vastness of his influence.

Beyond the windows, the Empire State Building stood tall, the crown jewel of his empire—now the headquarters of JH Group, a silent but monumental testament to his rise.

As he admired the cityscape, the door opened, and Kim Junghyun, his Chief Secretary, entered the room. Junghyun, sharp and commanding in his own right, was a man molded by experience. His athletic build was framed by a perfectly tailored dark suit.

His clean-shaven face and sharp features reflected a mix of loyalty and unyielding determination. His dark eyes, like Jaehyun's, revealed a history of battles fought in the shadows. His hair, black and neatly combed, added to his aura of discipline, while his presence exuded quiet strength.

"Chairman, the preparations are complete. We're ready to proceed whenever you give the order," Kim Junghyun reported, his voice firm and unwavering.

Jaehyun turned to face him, a slight smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "Excellent. You've done well, Director Kim," he replied smoothly, his words laced with satisfaction and anticipation.

The stage was set, and soon, Jaehyun would return to the land that had shaped him, with the full weight of his empire behind him.

As Jaehyun stepped out of his office, the sight that greeted him was formidable. Han Taehyung, the Head of the Chairman's Bodyguard Unit (CBU), stood tall, his broad shoulders and towering presence commanding attention.

A former SEAL Team 6 captain, Han had an air of quiet authority, his muscular build wrapped in a perfectly tailored black suit that did little to hide the strength underneath.

His closely cropped black hair and sharp, weathered features revealed years of hardened experience. His dark eyes, always alert, scanned the surroundings as if anticipating unseen threats.

Behind Han stood the four captains of the CBU, each distinct in their presence yet equally intimidating:

Lee Hyuk, Han's right-hand man, had a lean, athletic frame. At 6'2", he was slightly shorter than Han but radiated sharp precision and tactical brilliance.

His neatly styled hair and clean-shaven face gave him a polished look, but the steely glint in his eyes spoke of a man who had been through countless high-stakes operations.

Kim Sungbin, known as "The Butcher" among the team, was built like a tank—standing at 6'3" with a stocky, muscular frame that made him look more like a wall than a man.

His hair was cropped short, and his face carried a few faint scars, mementos from his time as a UDT operative. His cold, almost predatory gaze, paired with his reputation for brutal efficiency, made him one of the most feared men in the CBU.

Jung Baekhyun, the captain of the reconnaissance unit, had a wiry build but stood tall at 6'1". His appearance was clean-cut, with neatly combed hair and a serious expression, but his lithe frame hid the deadly capabilities of a 707th Special Mission Group ace. His movements were always calculated, like a panther ready to strike.

Park Soohyun, the interrogation expert, was shorter than the others at 5'11", but what he lacked in height, he made up for in sheer intimidation.

His face was hard, with a perpetual scowl, and his black hair was slicked back. His piercing gaze and calm demeanor belied the ruthless expertise he had in psychological warfare. His very presence unsettled most people.

Han Taehyung stepped forward, bowing his head slightly as he addressed Jaehyun. "Chairman, I've spoken with Director Jung. He'll pick us up at the airport once we land in Korea."

Jaehyun nodded, his gaze flicking over his loyal team. "Good, Chief Han. Have you informed the CBU of what's to come once we're in Korea?"

Han straightened, his voice steady and resolute. "Yes, Chairman. The unit is fully briefed and prepared. We understand the potential for war."

"Alright," Jaehyun responded, his tone cold but approving. Then, he turned to Kim Junghyun, who had followed him out. "Director Kim, are you and the Shadow Unit ready?"

Kim Junghyun stood at attention, his sharp features betraying nothing but confidence. "Yes, Chairman. We're ready."

Jaehyun's eyes glinted with satisfaction. "Then let's go."

With that, they began their march toward the next chapter, where power and vengeance awaited.
