"The master tells you to hit him. Just hit him and don't be surprised," Metagross warned Lucario.
Lucario looked at the unusual Ashborn and Metagross but punched Ashborn at slow speed.
Ashborn instinctively stepped to the left.
"Cough, try my reflexes first. Gradually increase the speed of your punches," Ashborn said.Lucario's initial punch would have been impossible to dodge for a normal person, but Ashborn easily evaded it.

"It's okay. I just awakened Psychic," Ashborn reassured the worried Pokémon.
Intermediate Psychic allowed for telepathic communication with both Pokémon and humans, although it was currently one-way unless the other party also had telepathic abilities.
Metagross, with its Steel and Psychic types, could now benefit from Ashborn's awakened Psychic.
Combining their Psychic abilities would further enhance their combined strength.
Psychic also served as a radar, allowing Ashborn to perceive everything within a 500-meter radius.
However, increasing the range would consume more mental power, limiting its duration.
Another important role of Psychic was to extend the duration of Pokémon Mega Evolution.
The length of Mega Evolution depended on the trainer's physical and mental power. If either was exhausted, the Pokémon would revert to its normal form.
Psychic was essentially mental power. When mental power reached a certain level, Psychic would emerge, and the two were interconnected.
