"That was the craziest thing I've ever done in my life! Did you see the man!? He brought out a gun, why the fuck does the old geezer have fun and I don't!?" Wyatt said in between breaths. His smile was brighter than the sun.
They both stopped to catch their breaths. Luckily, Evie packed her car far away from the building before they went inside. Close call.
"He has always had a gun. That man is insane. I think he's blind or something that's why he's able to hear different things. One time…" she began, giggling as she remembered the memory, "I snuck in again, and guess what I saw?" Her eyes sparked with excitement and Wyatt furrowed his brows.
"What?"
"Guess. It was wild. Like wilder than the West. Something that you only see on sites…." Evie folded her lips, snickering as Wyatt's eyes almost popped out in realization.
"An orgy party!? Here!? In this house!?" He cried out, almost fainting from shock.
"I just came in and boom! The people that were involved seemed to like creepy spaces and they were so turned on that it was almost…. Making me…" The older woman's cheeks had a deep spot of color.
"Making you what, Evie?" Both of them still breathed heavily. He took a step forward, closing the space between them, so her breasts were brushing against his chest. She raised her head, looking at him, biting her lower lip. Wyatt licked his lips.
"Don't do that, Evie. Not here or I promise I won't be the gentleman you've always known." Evie inhaled sharply, blinking once.
"Do what?" What were they even talking about before all of this? 'Dear me.' She thought.
"Make me want to kiss you. Make me want to imagine how those lips would feel wrapped around my cock. How you would choke on my cum and beg me for more. So don't fucking bite your lip again. Just don't." He warned, his gaze darkened, flashing with pure burning.
"I…. I… didn't mean to." The words tumbled out, her shoulders retreating. She never thought he would be so fucking good at dirty talking.
"All the more reason it turns me on."
"I…."
He had crossed a line. He stepped back studying her flushed face and her quivers. Fuck, what has he done?
"I shouldn't have said that… I am so sorry. I made you uncomfortable. Let's go." He added quickly before turning to walk to her car. Evie blinked, a small smile tugging at her lips. Taking a deep breath, she walked fast to catch up with him.
"I…. I liked it." That was the only way she could say it, walking past him like something was chasing her.
Wyatt froze before his lips tugged upwards. Nasty. That one was a word he would associate with her now. Oh, this was going to be the best date ever, after all.
For his portion of the date, he drove Evie's car to the location.
The building was a 70-story building skyscraper made of glass but it was dark all the way through and the only light was the one the natural satellite. Still, the building stood tall and mighty amongst the other buildings overshadowing them.
"This is Parker Industries as you may have already guessed." He said.
"So your plan for a date is to work?" She stared at him quizzically then turned to the building.
He chuckled, "If it's work you want, Evie, that I can provide." Evie didn't blush. She most definitely didn't shift uncomfortably while standing beside him when his fingers grazed her thumb. "But no, the date is something much better. I'm sure you'll love it, so follow me." This time he grabbed her wrist and pulled her with him.
No one was in the building only the security men. Normally, even in their office, someone was always on duty. Someone was always working overtime and sometimes that someone was her so it was strange to see why no one was there.
Did he…. She shook her head. That wasn't possible. But was it?
They entered the elevator and she was in front, Wyatt behind her breathing down on her neck and drawing small circles on her back. "Relax," he whispered. "I won't do anything to you. Not now at least." Even with Kay, he wasn't this daring but with Evie, it was so different.
So intriguing to see her delicate and perfected persona fall apart with his touch, and his words. He wanted to keep threading the very thin line because he wanted to see this to the end. The ghost of his lips hovered over her neck, teasing her with its proximity.
Up, down, was the movement of her chest, anticipating the collision but nothing came. Fuck. She was trying to calm herself when his arm snaked around her waist, pulling her to him, her butt directly on his member.
"I want to turn you around but I'm afraid that if I do, we won't be able to make it to the date and we don't want that, do we?" There was this mocking in his tone that made her tremble.
"Y…yes."
"Good." Fortunately, the elevator dinged signally that they had reached their destination. Evie didn't look back as she darted out of the elevator, breathing uncontrolled. What was he doing to her?
She was old enough to be more mature, to not let his words get to her. However what she stumbled on made her breath hitch.
The strong night breeze hit her with so much force that she nearly closed her eyes. They were on the rooftop but there was a blanket on the floor set up like a normal picnic with a basket beside it and fairy lights were strung around the location lighting it up.
"Wyatt, this is…." She had no words and he ushered her to the blanket. She was still in shock when Wyatt made her sit down, brought out the food, and placed them on the blanket.
"Evie, you have to stop staring and eat."
"Sorry, but this is just lovely! I can't believe this!" Wyatt smiled and they both ate, making small talk. After a while, Evie stood up and walked to the edge, the view splendid.
The city lights contrasted with the darkness of the sky, heavily. It was unimaginably beautiful. The twinkles reflected in her eyes. The cars, the shoutings, and in the far distance she could hear the sound of the ocean. Breathtaking. Yes, that was the word.
"The view is like something out of a painting. Picasso could paint this but it would not have come anywhere close to this…" She drew a breath.
"I used to come here as a kid. Thought I would be the most powerful man in existence just like my dad. Only the view made me powerful, standing on top of the world. Amazing, it truly is. Watching how people go about their lives without a single care in the world or maybe they have cares, they most definitely do, but here it's not the problem. I love it. I know you would too." Wyatt stood beside her, hands in his pocket.
"Well, this would make a wonderful thinking space. Only you and your thoughts. No one to tell you anything because you have everything in control. You are you. Nobody gets to have a say in your life." He knew they weren't talking about the view anymore.
"I know I was harsh and cold when we first met but this marriage… I would like to give it a try…. If…." Wyatt Hudson Parker had thought long and hard about this. There were consequences in the form of a certain auburn-haired girl but that was all later.
He cared for Evie. She was not his type on a normal Tuesday but right now, this woman with the view of the city in her eyes, was more than perfect. He…. He was falling so hard and fast that it shocked him. This feeling was different from anything else. He had never felt so sure about anything or anyone in his life.
For once, his father made the right decision.
Evie's head jerked to the side. "Are you… are you sure? That means you'll have to give up on your soccer dreams." Her eyes softened.
"What do you want to do with your life, Angel? What's your future? Whatever it is, all I am certain about is that I want to be in it, if you let me that is. I'm sorry for being too forward but…" she silenced him with her lips.
The kiss didn't linger. "I would also like to give it a try. I always wanted to be a fashion brand's marketer but I'm stuck marketing other things." The couple looked at each other, a smile hooking their lips.
"Since we are trying to make this work, we need to practice our wedding dance. Would you care to dance with me, Evelyn Hastings?"
"Now!? But there's no music!?" She gasped but Wyatt wasn't having it.
He brought out his phone and a small speaker connecting the two and 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran comes on.
She rested her head on his shoulder, his arm wrapped around her as they both moved along to the loving lyrics. A silent promise. A promise to stay with each other no matter what. A promise they couldn't break because God help Evie, this man was breaking her walls and she was afraid that when there was nothing left she would fall too hard, unable to get back up. And maybe… just maybe that was good too.
