After they both washed themselves and their clothes in the bathroom, they resumed their journey.
Walking through the dark, long corridor, Sylphy still hadn't gotten an answer about how Kaizoku won his battle against Cerberus.
"By the way, how did you manage to defeat Cerberus with just that greatsword? I'm still curious, since what you mentioned earlier didn't make much sense."
Sylphy asked with a face full of curiosity. Even so, she didn't dwell too much on whether it made sense or not – she was certain that everything Kaizoku said was the truth.
"Hmm, I'm not lying. When you got knocked unconscious by Cerberus's strike, I felt an incredible rage building inside me."
"Almost unconsciously, I ended up using the Creation spell, and strangely, I didn't feel the pain like I did the first time I used it. Perhaps my anger was so intense it masked the pain."
Kaizoku looked down with an expression that mixed confusion and sadness.
"I think I need to learn to control my emotions better, because I feel guilty after killing Cerberus. This feeling is very different from before, when I killed bad people when I first came to this world."
Kaizoku looked ahead again with the same expression.
"I felt... pity... pity for killing someone or something that had already surrendered... I regret killing Cerberus."
Seeing Kaizoku's gloom, Sylphy tried to cheer him up.
"Come on, don't be sad, you managed to defeat a legendary creature! The animal titan that people scared of, how cool is that."
Sylphy said enthusiastically to comfort Kaizoku. With a wide smile, she continued.
"You've grown stronger! Before, you only relied on Destion, but now you have a new weapon! Even without Destion, you can still fight back. So come on! We can't give up now."
Seeing Sylphy's enthusiasm, Kaizoku didn't want to be outdone. Finally, a small smile emerged on his face, replacing the regret that had filled his thoughts after killing Cerberus.
"So... how has it felt, traveling together all this time? If you ask me again, I can only wonder. I really want to return to my world, a peaceful and relaxed world – I guess I wasn't grateful enough."
Sylphy smiled widely hearing Kaizoku's question. She answered without hesitation.
"You're asking me!? The answer is... I'm quite happy and entertained throughout our journey, this place isn't as bad as the myths and rumors suggested."
Kaizoku responded with his small smile. "I'm glad. I hope I haven't been a burden to you... I think, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have made it this far."
Hearing those words, Sylphy's face turned red as a tomato. Too embarrassed to respond, she could only remain silent, overwhelmed by shyness.
Seeing Sylphy's embarrassment, Kaizoku's smile widened as if he knew what would happen.
"Whatever happens, we can't lose hope. Whatever comes our way, we'll face it. We need to get out of here and reunite with Gabriel and Hizo." Kaizoku sighed hope.
"Hah... I miss them. I hope we can get some help to make it back up there."
Sylphy lowered her head, indicating her agreement to stay hopeful and not lose faith, whatever they might face – they would fight until they won and escaped from the Underworld.
