Chapter 233 - Chapter 233: A New Beginning for Camelot

"Morgan, Lott, you two have really put me through the wringer!" The fairy version of Morgan stormed into the barracks of Lott and Morgan, her expression a mix of frustration and exasperation. Her eyes locked onto the two of them, brimming with a kind of playful resentment.

"I never wanted to be the ruler of the fairies. I was happy living as a hermit, away from all the chaos. But no, you two pushed me into this position!" She gestured dramatically as she continued to vent. "I didn't want this responsibility! But now, with so many fairies looking to me for guidance, how could I abandon them?"

Morgan, the human, chuckled softly at her complaints. "It's not so bad, is it? We needed someone the fairies would trust, someone who could lead them with their best interests at heart. If we, as humans, tried to control them, they would have resisted us. But you, as a fairy, can unite them under one banner. It's the best solution for bringing peace to Britain."

The fairy Morgan sighed, nodding reluctantly. "I know. I just... it's a lot to handle." Her voice softened, the weight of her new responsibilities settling on her shoulders. "But you're right. I'll do what needs to be done to ensure peace."

"That's the spirit," Morgan said, smiling warmly. "And don't worry, we'll handle the human side of things. Our officials will work closely with your representatives to ensure a smooth partnership."

"Alright," the fairy Morgan agreed, still looking a little reluctant. "We'll gather the remaining fairies and bring them back to the Fairy Kingdom. You'll have to coordinate with our people to make sure everything runs smoothly."

"Of course," Morgan replied confidently. "We've already made plans for that. We'll make sure there are no more misunderstandings between our people and yours."

The fairy Morgan then turned her gaze to Lott, a serious expression on her face. "What about Melusine and the Wind Clan's leader?"

"Melusine has joined our ranks," Morgan explained. "She's now a general under my command. As for the Wind Clan's leader..." Morgan's eyes darkened. "We won't be keeping her around. She's caused too much trouble."

The fairy Morgan nodded, looking relieved. "That's good. It's for the best. And Melusine... I'm glad she's alright."

The three of them continued discussing various plans, solidifying their agreement for cooperation between Camelot and the fairies. It was a crucial step towards stabilizing the region and ensuring that peace would last.

A few days later, the aftermath of the battle was almost entirely dealt with. The prisoners of war, those who showed a willingness to change, were sent to the Fairy Kingdom for reeducation under the fairy Morgan. The more stubborn ones were put to work by Camelot's soldiers, contributing to the rebuilding and strengthening of the kingdom.

With the immediate threats neutralized, Camelot began to focus on development. Fields needed to be sown, buildings constructed, and roads paved. The fairies, both the willing and the conscripted, were put to work alongside the human populace.

Soon, Lott and Morgan returned to the Chalk City with their army and the remaining captives. One notable incident occurred when the former leader of the Tooth Clan, a stubborn warrior captured in an earlier battle, challenged Lott to a final duel. Starved and weakened, he stood no chance against Lott, who swiftly and decisively ended the fight.

With that last challenge dealt with, Lott turned his focus back to something that had been on his mind for a while—farming. Despite being born a Celt, Lott's passion for agriculture couldn't be suppressed. He was determined to prove that crops could be grown successfully in Britain, despite the gods' supposed disapproval.

Selection, breeding, soil improvement—all of these efforts began to pay off as Camelot's agricultural yields slowly increased. It was a small victory, but a victory nonetheless.

Meanwhile, Morgan had her own important project—nurturing the new life growing inside her. Her belly had started to swell, a clear sign that another child was on the way. This time, the pregnancy felt easier, perhaps because they had already been through this with Gawain. Still, both parents were attentive and cautious.

Months passed, and soon Morgan was back in the delivery room. Unlike last time, Lott stayed by her side until the very last moment, when he was gently but firmly pushed outside by the midwife.

"Dad, is Mom going to be okay?" Gawain asked anxiously, her eyes wide with worry. Despite her usual stoic demeanor, it was clear she was deeply concerned.

Lott smiled reassuringly and ruffled her hair. "Don't worry, your mother is strong. She'll be fine. And your new brother or sister will be here soon."

Gawain nodded, trying to be brave, but she couldn't help but fidget nervously. Lott's calm demeanor seemed to help, though, and she managed a small smile.

After what felt like an eternity but was really only a few hours, the sound of a baby's cry filled the air. Both Lott and Gawain's faces lit up with joy.

"It's over," Lott said, relief washing over him. He and Gawain waited a few more moments before finally being allowed into the room.

Morgan was sitting up in bed, looking tired but radiant. She held a small, bundled figure in her arms.

"How are you feeling?" Lott asked, his voice gentle as he approached her.

"I'm fine," Morgan replied with a tired smile. "And you were right. This little one was much easier to bring into the world than Gawain was."

Gawain, meanwhile, had made a beeline for the newborn. She peered into the swaddled blanket, her eyes wide with curiosity.

"It's a boy!" she announced proudly, her voice full of excitement.

"A boy?" Lott echoed, his heart swelling with pride and love. He leaned down to get a closer look at his son. "Welcome to the world, little one."

The family gathered around the newest addition, their hearts full of joy. At that moment, all the struggles and hardships they had faced seemed to melt away. They were together, and they were strong.

As they settled in for the night, Morgan looked over at Lott, her eyes soft with love. "We're really building something here, aren't we?"

"Yes, we are," Lott agreed, his voice full of conviction. "And we'll keep building it, together."

The challenges ahead would be many, but for now, they had this moment—a moment of peace, hope, and the promise of a brighter future.
