Chapter 157 - Chapter 157: The Wrath of Vortigern

The Wrath of Vortigern

The wound on Vortigern had been inflicted by Scáthach's spear, still raw and unhealed, akin to a fragile chip. As Altria's and Galahad's strikes added to this injury, it pierced deeply, causing intense pain and a rush of humiliation to wash over Vortigern.

"Roar!" Vortigern howled in agony as Lott's blade struck down hard, slamming into his head and further injuring his claws.

In retaliation, Vortigern gathered the dark energy within him, surrounding Lott with an ominous aura intended to corrode him. He spewed forth a corrosive breath, aiming to engulf Lott, but Tristan quickly readied another arrow, shooting it straight at the spot Lott had just struck.

"Oops, looks like I slipped my hand," Tristan remarked nonchalantly, glancing at the gathered Knights of the Round Table. They exchanged sceptical looks, knowing he was jesting.

Despite the levity, everyone felt the weight of the situation. The air was thick with the stench of corrosion, and anxiety gripped their hearts. But from this dark breath emerged a radiant rainbow, breaking through the clouds.

With Vasilis in hand, Lott pressed on, launching another fierce attack. His strikes were calculated and decisive. He had no intention of holding back against Vortigern, for every moment the dragon lived was a threat to Britain as a whole.

"You will go to hell!" Lott shouted, determination fueling his words. [He vowed to protect his homeland, his wife, and his daughter from Vortigern's menace. Today, he would end this threat.]

Morgan could hear Lott's resolve clearly in her heart. "Your safety is paramount," she thought anxiously.

As Lott's blade plunged deeply between Vortigern's eyes, the dragon writhed in pain, trying desperately to throw Lott off. But Lott held on tightly to Vasilis, refusing to let go.

Altria and Galahad rushed to Lott's side, their swords poised to help. Altria's Caliburn: Golden Sword of Assured Victory smoothly pierced Vortigern's chest. On the other hand, Galahad struggled as his weapon slid off the dragon's hard scales. However, he quickly adjusted, thrusting his sword into the softer abdomen of Vortigern.

Thus, Lott attacked from above, Altria struck at the chest, and Galahad pierced the abdomen, all contributing to significant wounds on the mighty dragon. Yet, even in such agony, Vortigern fought back, unleashing a violent gust that kicked up dust and debris, forcing Morgan and the others to retreat.

Flapping his wings, Vortigern ascended into the sky, attempting to shake off Lott and the others. But Lott and his allies clung tightly to their weapons.

"Galahad, hold on!" Altria called out, her voice laced with urgency.

"I will! You and His Majesty Lott must also stay vigilant!" Galahad replied, his determination unwavering.

Amidst their struggle, Lott joked, "You two are hanging on for dear life, while I'm standing strong! Vortigern, I will take you down today!" As they soared through the air, Lott maintained his balance atop Vortigern's snout, their eyes locked in a fierce battle of wills.

Meanwhile, below, Morgan watched anxiously as Vortigern ascended. Her heart raced, and though she felt like crying, she quelled her emotions for the sake of her comrades. "Damn it, chase them! Follow their path to Wales! Anyone who dares to stand in our way shall be killed!" she commanded, her voice regal yet filled with worry.

[In her heart, she thought, "Lott, stay safe. If anything happens to you, I will tear Vortigern apart with my own hands."]

"Uncle Kay, can I help my parents now?" Kay looked at the towering figure before him, unsure how to respond. The girl was not the small child he remembered but had grown significantly over just a few days.

Gawain, once a three or four-year-old girl, now appeared as a striking young woman, her growth spurt transforming her into a tall and fit woman. With long, golden waves of hair, she resembled both Lott and Morgan, embodying beauty and strength.

Kay was taken aback. "You've grown so much in just a few days," he marvelled, still reeling from the rapid transformation.

Gawain eagerly approached Kay, ready to assist Lott in battle. Although Kay wanted to deny her, he couldn't bring himself to refuse outright. He challenged her, stating, "If you can hold your own for ten minutes, I'll let you fight."

However, during their sparring, Kay realized just how powerful Gawain had become. Her swordsmanship was rough but full of raw strength that nearly overwhelmed him. By the end of the ten minutes, Gawain was still full of energy, standing confidently with the Galatine: Sword of

Revolving Victory is ready to join the fray.

She felt the power surging through her, invigorated by her lineage. "Now, I can help Dad and Mom," she thought, determination sparkling in her eyes.
