The Siege and the Mysterious Warrior

"I am the one blocking you," Galahad declared with unwavering resolve.

His blood was pumping with intensity, fueled by the realization that Vortigern's power far exceeded his expectations. This only ignited a stronger urge within him to fight and claim victory. Even a knight as gentle as he, felt the fierce spirit of battle rising within.

Galahad focused intently on Vortigern's weapon, bracing himself for the oncoming attack. Vortigern, observing this young knight—barely fifteen or sixteen—stood his ground without hesitation. With a swift motion, Vortigern swung his sword. Though he had seen Galahad previously taking down lesser foes on the wall, those were mere distractions.

However, Vortigern's initial contempt evaporated when his blow was firmly met by Galahad's defence. The strength of Vortigern's attack was something ordinary individuals could not withstand, but Galahad held firm. The youth's hands trembled under the pressure, the strain evident as he struggled against Vortigern's superior strength.

For a moment, Vortigern relaxed his grip, and Galahad leaned forward, seizing the opportunity. Vortigern thought to himself that relaxation in battle often meant both physical and mental slackening, a prime chance to strike again. He lunged forward with renewed intensity, but once more, his strike was intercepted by Galahad.

Vortigern's disdain for Galahad began to wane as he noticed the knight's unwavering determination and serious demeanour. "It seems I must take you seriously," Vortigern muttered, accelerating his assault. Galahad, though battered and weary, gritted his teeth and endured the relentless onslaught.

Despite the heavy barrage, Galahad stood firm, like a boat tossed about by tumultuous waves but refusing to capsize. His persistence was fueled by his dedication and resolve. He would not fall, no matter how fierce the enemy's attack.

Meanwhile, Lott, observing the battle, directed Altria and Tristan, "Altria, Tristan, keep an eye on Vortigern and make sure he doesn't harm Galahad."

Both nodded in agreement, prepared to step in as needed. Lott, aware that he was the primary target for Vortigern, knew that his defeat could spell disaster for his forces. Thus, he refrained from taking unnecessary risks.

Looking around, Lott noticed King Marco who had recently climbed the wall. "King Marco, defend yourself!" Lott called out.

King Marco, having just mounted the wall, was caught off guard by Lott's sudden charge. With a grim expression, Marco prepared himself to counter the attack, though he was frustrated by the turn of events. "Why must you fight me?" he lamented. "Why not confront Vortigern directly?"

Lott swiftly chased King Marco from the city wall to below the gate. Marco, evading the confrontation, vanished into the crowd. Lott, having dealt with the immediate threat, returned to the wall.

...

"Your body is nearing its limit. Can you keep this up?" Vortigern inquired with a smirk, observing Galahad who was breathing heavily.

Vortigern had unleashed his full might against Galahad, and despite Galahad's strength, the sustained pressure was taking its toll. "I have never felt that I would lose," Galahad replied with grim determination. "I will guard this castle and protect everyone's dreams."

"False fantasy," Vortigern dismissed with a scoff, preparing for another attack. But as he turned his gaze, he saw Altria and Tristan poised to step in if necessary. The sky was darkening, and nightfall was imminent. In this era, few would continue a siege under the cover of darkness.

Vortigern noted the diminished number of his troops remaining on the wall, including the beleaguered King Marco. Realizing that he needed to regroup, Vortigern planned his retreat. He struck a powerful blow, causing a significant crack in the wall. "Tomorrow, I will launch a full assault from here," he announced to Galahad and the others. "Withdraw for now. Tomorrow will be their end."

Lott, observing Vortigern's retreat, prepared to launch another attack. "Do you think you can just take all your men and leave?" Lott challenged. "You'll need more than a few attacks to cause significant harm. I'll block all your efforts."

Vortigern, untroubled by the fate of his soldiers, aimed to demoralize Lott's forces. Just then, he sensed a new threat approaching. A mocking voice pierced the air. "You think you can block all their attacks?"

As Vortigern turned to respond, a volley of red spears rained down from the sky. The spears pierced through the soldiers remaining on the wall, leaving a gruesome scene below. A striking figure descended from the sky, her long purple hair flowing gracefully. Dressed in tight combat attire, her beauty was matched by her formidable presence.

She landed beneath the city wall, her gaze sharp and menacing. The soldiers surrounding her attempted to attack, but with a casual wave of her spear, she effortlessly repelled them.

Vortigern, taken aback, could only watch as this new player in the battle made her dramatic entrance.
