Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Sacrad Sword (rewrite)

Lott approached the long sword with anticipation. He grasped the hilt and, as he held it, he felt a sense of ownership. In the realm of the long river of time, anything he fished up was considered his by right. Regardless of the sword's previous owner, it now belonged to him.

As he examined the sword more closely, Lott's initial confusion transformed into recognition. The blade in his hand was none other than the famed "Valius"—one of the legendary three holy swords of Europe. And Roland's "Durandal," was renowned as a powerful weapon.

This particular sword was known to be associated with Charlemagne, the Carolingian King of the Frankish Kingdom. The most striking feature of Valius was that its blade was forged from the tip of Longinus's spear—the lance used to pierce Christ's side during the crucifixion. Despite its plain appearance, the sword was imbued with immense power. Legend held that it could potentially allow its wielder to conquer Europe and rule the world, though Charlemagne's prowess was more due to his abilities rather than the sword itself.

Lott pondered silently, This must be one of the greatest finds I've had in years. His mind briefly wandered to Galahad, who was an even greater treasure in his view, but the sword was undeniably impressive.

With a sense of pride, Lott sheathed Valius. Though the sword might not symbolically rule Europe in this timeline, its connection to Longinus's spear would certainly make an impact. Just wait until Morgan sees this surprise, Lott thought with a triumphant grin. He considered how the sword might even surpass Charlemagne's accomplishments, adding symbolic weight to his find.

Packing up his fishing gear, Lott returned to Camelot with a sense of accomplishment. Upon his arrival, he found Morgan still preoccupied with the kingdom's affairs. She was visibly frustrated, regretting her role as queen and wishing for a break from the endless responsibilities.

Lott walked in, casually carrying his fishing rod, which only added to Morgan's irritation. She couldn't help but grind her teeth at his laid-back appearance. Is he back already? she wondered, noting how it usually took him much longer to fish.

"Why are you back so early?" Morgan asked with a hint of sarcasm. "Did you not catch anything?"

Lott, always the optimist, responded, "I didn't catch any fish today. But I found something much more valuable."

Morgan's curiosity was piqued. She eyed Lott's side, noticing the absence of any fish. Typical, she thought. He probably didn't catch anything and came back early.

"Show me then," Morgan said, her interest genuinely aroused despite her scepticism.

Lott proudly brandished the sword. "Look at this sword, my dear wife."

Morgan took a look at the long sword with a hint of disdain. It was not particularly impressive in craftsmanship, and its spear-like blade seemed odd. What's so special about this? she mused. Is he trying to impress me with something that looks like a mere spear tip?

She questioned Lott, "How effective is this sword in combat?"

Lott responded with a grin, "It's more than just a spear tip. It's a very special spear tip."

Morgan's scepticism was evident as she wondered if it was just a fancy but ordinary weapon. "What do you mean by that?" she asked, her curiosity intensifying.

Lott continued with a grin, "It's the tip of Longinus's spear."

Morgan's eyes widened, and her casual demeanour vanished. "The tip of Longinus's spear!?" she exclaimed, her voice rising in disbelief.

Realizing she might have drawn too much attention, she quickly lowered her voice. "Is it the tip of Longinus's spear? That's incredible!"

Lott, satisfied with Morgan's reaction, nodded. "Yes, it's the genuine tip of Longinus's spear. Quite a surprise, isn't it?"

Morgan was taken aback but acknowledged the significance. "It's valuable. You've done well this time, Lott."

Despite their usual disbelief in divine artefacts, both Lott and Morgan respected the power attributed to the spear of Longinus. The fact that a sword made from it had appeared was indeed a noteworthy find.

"This sword belongs to you now?" Morgan asked, eyeing Valius.

"Yes, but if you need it, I can certainly let you have it," Lott offered.

Morgan, however, declined. "I'm a magician, not a swordswoman. I do not need such a weapon."

Curious about the acquisition process, Morgan inquired, "How did you come by this sword?"

Lott, with a mysterious smile, answered, "That's a secret."

Morgan, puzzled by the term "plug-in" that Lott had mentioned earlier, was left with more questions than answers. The term was unfamiliar to her, adding another layer of intrigue to Lott's already enigmatic persona.
