Harl spun around quickly, raising his arm to block the attack. He grabbed the man's wrist with unexpected strength, twisting it roughly until the dagger slipped and fell to the ground.
"ARRGH! Let go, you bastard!"
The man groaned, but Harl only smiled sinisterly before hitting his face with a strong jab from right fist. The man's nose was broken instantly, blood pouring out onto the alley floor.
Meanwhile, Claire staggered back, her body shaking. She felt like she was thrown from a nightmare that had just happened, her breathing heavy and her chest feeling tight.
She looked at Harl with half-disbelieving eyes, but there was relief that began to slowly flow in her heart.
