Back in the before times, when everything was new. The ancients a large serpent like dragon with two sets of wings and a large horn still romes. Here we focus on a newly mated couple who have found a lovely place for nesting, it won't be long till the female. A smaller ancient, who's body was a deep red her feathers tipped with a deep ashy color. Let's call her scarlet, lays a clutch of eggs. It has been documented that ancients could have a clutch of up to three eggs. With scarlet going restless the eggs shall be laid any time now. There we see the father, her mate a larger ancient with an ashy color and bigger stature as well as deep green highlights like a pinstripe python. Mayhaps well call him emerald, bringing her some fresh food. It looks like he's brought her fresh venirog. A type of amphibian that resembles a small deer. She tenderly takes it from his Jaws and greatfully eats it. His feathered tail flicking back and forth to signal his leave for more food. As he Flys off a rival male sneaks into the nesting place, his feathers a bright yellow with cream markings. He tries to get her attention by lifting his head and wings to show his health and strength. She however ignores him and tucks her tail under herself giving a low his to signal that she isn't quite interested in him. He tries to get closer but is met with a shreik from her, her feathers hackling as she raises from her nest. His last attempt is met with a claw to his face. For now he retreats, as Emerald returns having heard her shreik he comforts her by gently licking her face and neck. Scarlet though still on edge desides to lay back down. Emerald deciding to lay with her for the time leans gently into her and wraps his tail around her to comfort her. Scarlet now relaxed, lays against Emerald the eggs finally being laid with her mate by her side.
"After three weeks the eggs are nearing hatching." The soft feminine voice of scarlet says as she leans into her mate emerald. Emerald nodded and smiled at her "I'm so glad we got a good spot to have our nest." He said, his voice a deeper baritone compared to her altone. "The nerve of that male though, trying to show off. It pisses me off" emerald said with a growl and laid his head on Scarlets shoulder. Scarlet nodded in agreement and gently started grooming her mate when they both heard small chirping. Scarlet would get up and coo back at them encouraging them to hatch. "Come on you can do it little ones" she encouraged. Emerald smiled watching the eggs carefully nudging one of the two eggs she had laid. Suddenly a small Crack started to form on one then the other as well. It would take them an hour to completely come out of the shells. One was a deep Marron color with black markings. The other a soft Grey with maroon tips. They had one boy and one girl. "How should we name them?" Scarlet asked. Emerald thought some "Ashton for the boy and ember for the girl?" He suggested. Scarlet thought some "I like those names". The two started nuzzling close to scarlet who gently licked them and nuzzled them close to her teats.
