In a small village just behind the great El'gororth forest came a loud ludicrous laughter that burns out of a round and short kid, Huddy.
He'd laughed so hard that he'd fell to the ground, kicking his feet up in the air while clutching onto his bubbling stomach to catch his breath.
"This isn't funny, Huddy" Lyra says, sternly with a mask of seriousness in her tone.
Huddy catches his breath as he raises up to his feet. "Do you really believe you can find the ancient power and restore Eldrado, Lyra?"
Lyra couldn't help but admit that hearing those words from Huddy did sound too good to be true. But, she was determined to make it possible.
Growing up as a child, Lyra had heard the tales about how Eldrado had become a lost city due to the evil witch, Xylara who wanted to claim the ancient powers all to herself but the king wouldn't have it.
Therefore Xylara had enslaved the people ot Eldrado to do her biddings. The torture had continued until a group or four mages had stood up against Xylara whom were known as 'The order of warlocks'.
It was a tough battle with magic spells being casted from one end to the other but they'd ended up being victorious at the cost of Eldrado's ruins.
The few survivors--with which Lyra's parents were amongst-- had moved behind the El'gororth forest to start a new life and create a new place to live.
These tales about how the villagers had come to start a new life in the village never escaped Lyra's parents mouth until they passed away.
Suddenly, the thought of picking up the pieces amd restoring the lost city of Eldrado crept up into Lyra's mind.
A thought she couldn't hesistate to share with her bestfriend, Huddy.
"I believe I can, Huddy" Lyra responds.
"The ancient powers were just tales, Lyra"Huddy buttress. "Even the evil witch, Xylara --as in the tales-- could never acquire it. It was her greed that led to her downfall"
Lyra grumbles in frustration. "You can't talk me out of this, Huddy"
Huddy throws his hands up in the air "I know, I know"
Huddy moves away from Lyra making a tsk sound with his tongue as Chuck, their pet dog runs towards him.
Giving the dog a good scratch behind it's ear, Huddy continues. "I guess you're telling me all this for some reason?"
A slow smile splays across Lyra's face as she states. "You, I and Chuck are going to find the ancient power as per the tales"
"No way" Huddy shakes his head in a disapproving manner. "Why do I have to tag along?"
Lyra throws her hand around Huddy's neck. "Because you are my bestfriend!. Plus, you could consider this as an adventure"
Huddy sneaks out of her arm hold. "I do not want to be part of this adventure"
Lyra pouts."Please, Huddy. Don't you want to find out if the ancient power truly exists?. If we do find it, we'll be changing our lives by restoring back our lost city"
Huddy shoulders drop, defeated. "We don't have to be the ones to do this"
"If not us, who will?"
Huddy thought about if for a second and Lyra was right. If not them, no one else would be able to come up with an absurd thought such as locating the ancient power.
"Do you really think it's possible to restore Eldrado?" Huddy inquires, his voice filled with doubt. The city has been lost for over two decades.
Lyra place her hands on Huddy's shoulders, reassuringly. "I think it's possible"
Huddy nods his head. "What's the plan, then?"
A slow smile spread across Lyra's face as she couldn't hide her excitement over the fact that Huddy had decided to tag along. "First, we need to secure the three pieces of the map"
"Three pieces?"
"According to the tales we were told, after the ancient King banished Xylara, the evil witch, he tore the map to the ancient power into three pieces and scattered their location"
"So how do we find the first piece?"
"That, I've already done"
Huddy stared at Lyra, amazed. "Well, where is the first piece?"
Lyra points towards a green roof hut. "Over there"
"What!?" Huddy exclaimed, taken aback. "That's old Oliver's house"
Old Oliver was the elderly man who looked after the children of their village. After wrapping up the day's work, all the children would gather at old Oliver's house to listen to the tales about Eldrado.
Old Oliver had taken a special liking to Lyra ever since her parents passed away.
Lyra rolled her eyes. "I know it's old Oliver's house. The whole village knows it's old oliver's house"
Huddy's eyes widened in shock. "You want us to steal the first piece of map from old Oliver?"
Lyra slams her lips together and release it with a pop sound. "If I made such a suggestion, I know you won't give in"
Huddy exhales, relieved. "Thank goodness"
Lyra sticks her hands into her pocket, revealing a piece of ancient brown paper. "That's why I've already acquired the first piece"
Huddy shireks in horror. "Lyra!. You stole from old Oliver?"
"I didn't steal from him. I simply borrowed it" Lyra corrects. "Besides, once we've put the pieces of the map together and retrieved the ancient powers, I'll return the full map back to old Oliver. I'm sure he'll be pleased to see it in full shape"
Huddy shakes his head, cowering in fear. "I don't approve of this either, Lyra. Why don't we just return back the first map piece and see old Oliver's permission"
"And do you think old Oliver is going to give his permission to two children to run off into an oblivious future with a- third torn piece of map?"
Huddy scratches the back of his neck. "Are we going to leave without telling anyone where we are headed?"
"That's for yhe best, Huddy" Lyra extends her hands out to him. "So what do you say?"
"I.." Huddy stutters is interrupted by a loud voice that called out for Lyra.
Lyra yelps. "That's old Oliver's voice"
"What should we do? Do you think he has already noticed the missing piece of map?"
Lyra grips Huddy's hands."Come on, Huddy. Adventure awaits"
