Nathaniel and Martha agreed with Walter, both looking at Sawyer and waiting for him to respond.
However, Sawyer continued to give them the silent treatment.
"What your father said is right, Sawyer," Martha added impatiently, hoping to encourage him to speak. She placed her hand on his to draw his attention. Meeting Sawyer's calm gaze, she continued, "Serena won't reject your proposal this time, dear. Trust Grandma, okay?"
"Yes, Sawyer, if you're worried that Serena will reject you, I can talk to her grandfather to ensure she will not..." Nathaniel chimed in, trying to help his wife convince Sawyer. "But don't worry too much because, from what I hear from Old Philips, he is the one who's urging Serena to settle down with you."
