Sawyer wanted to tell her the truth several times, yet he was unable to face the possible consequences.
Even though the number of times he met and talked to her was fewer than his fingers, he could sense her character; she was a woman who didn't like to take advantage of others.
If she knew he was the homeowner, she might insist on paying the rent in full. And there is no way he could let that happen.
"It's fine. I don't mind climbing stairs. I'm just considering this as my light cardio," Abigail smiled, gently patting Sawyer's arm before walking down the stairs ahead of him.
Sawyer's jaw dropped as a thought crossed his mind. 'Oh, crap! I hope Brody didn't move my car to the basement.'
He quickly took out his cell phone and typed a text message:
"Don't move my car to the basement!" He hit send and inwardly prayed while catching up with Abigail on the stairs.
