Chapter 77 - Misunderstanding

"Did something happen? Why aren't you asleep yet?" he added, glancing at his watch. "It's almost midnight, Abby," his voice filled with worry.

"I'm thirsty and need to drink some water," she answered nonchalantly.

Abigail was amused by how handsome he looked even when he had just awakened and was panicking.

"Okay, wait here. I'll get it for you." Sawyer left her before she could respond. Not long after, he returned with two water bottles and handed them to her.

"Alright, you can head back upstairs. Go to sleep; we'll leave this cabin tomorrow morning. Don't stay up too late..."

When Abigail didn't move from her spot, Sawyer's brow furrowed slightly.

"Do you need anything else? A midnight snack, maybe?" he asked jokingly.

"No," Abigail shook her head slowly.

After some thought, Abigail realized she couldn't let Sawyer sleep in the chair all night. He would have to drive for three hours tomorrow to return to the capital.
