Lydia's lips tightened, and her expression turned unreadable. "Mind your own business, Erica," she said curtly. "Don't mess with my matters."
Erica's eyes sparkled with mischief. "You are so secretive," she said, stepping closer. "But I'm your daughter. Don't you think I should know about the big moves you're making?"
Lydia's lips thinned. "Mr. Blair is none of your concern…And as for the land, it's business—something you wouldn't understand. You should think about how to convince Dylan to let you work at the company again."
Erica swallowed, her boldness momentarily wavering.
Lydia picked up her bag. "I'm going out for a party. I won't be returning until late. Don't go anywhere."
With that warning hanging in the air, she exited the room, her high heels clicking against the polished floor.
