Ava's tense shoulders relaxed slightly when she saw Justin arrive with the doctor. She quickly stepped aside, giving them space to approach Dylan. The doctor set his bag down and began examining Dylan. Ava stood nearby, her fingers nervously fidgeting with the hem of her sweater.
She turned to Justin and murmured, "Thank you for bringing the doctor so soon."
"Don't bother. Consider it as a part of my duty. But how did he get wet in the rain?" Justin asked skeptically.
Ava felt her stomach knotting. It was because of her stubbornness Dylan was like this, but her pride wouldn't let her confess outright. She hesitated, her lips parting to form an explanation, but the doctor's voice cut through the silence.
