In the garden, Eclipse was in a good mood as she smiled at Alastor. "I'll be back in a minute."
Alastor touched her hair. As the wind picked up, he took off his coat and draped it over Eclipse's slender shoulders.
She looked tiny in his coat, like a kid playing dress-up in adult clothes.
Eclipse smiled warmly, waved, and turned to head back into the banquet hall.
Alastor stared at her disappearing figure, his gaze cold. "Henry," he called out suddenly.
Henry stepped out of his black sports car, loosening his tie. A mischievous smile played on his face. "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to her," he said before heading after Eclipse.
Inside the banquet hall, Eclipse bumped into Robert.
He blocked her way, his eyes sharp and full of anger. "Eclipse, I love Jessica. You should call off the wedding and leave Star City."
Eclipse smirked, her eyes cold. "Oh?"
Robert glared at her like she was something dirty. "Look at yourself. What right do you have to compare with Jessica? Even if you tried everything, I'd never like you."
Eclipse chuckled, her gaze chilling. "Like I care."
Robert grew more furious, continuing to insult her. "You're shameless and despicable. You sell yourself to get what you want. How could you be so cheap?"
He looked at her with pure disgust.
No way would he marry a woman like her, even with her stake in the Rocelyn family. J
Jessica was pure and perfect, unlike Eclipse, who he now thought was filthy.
Thinking Eclipse still wanted him made Robert even angrier. "Look at yourself, Eclipse. Do you really think you deserve me? Even if you cling to me, I won't spare you another glance."
Suddenly, with a loud crash, a potted plant smashed onto Robert's head!
The room fell silent. Robert stared at Eclipse in shock, unable to believe what had just happened.
This was the same Eclipse who had once loved him, who used to follow him everywhere.
Now she had hit him!
Eclipse smiled coldly, sending shivers down Robert's spine.
Eclipse Rocelyn once read a saying: "Pretend to be weak to catch the strong, but don't overdo it, or you might really become weak."
In the hall, everyone's attention was caught by the commotion.
Mrs. Rocelyn, who had just come downstairs with Jessica Rocelyn, saw Robert Jade getting hit and immediately yelled, "Eclipse, you keep hitting people! Do you have no manners?"
Eclipse didn't panic. She just glanced coldly at Mrs. Rocelyn and replied, "Shut up."
Mrs. Rocelyn froze, stunned by the iciness in Eclipse's eyes, and couldn't say anything else.
Eclipse then looked at Jessica, who tried to act scared but had a little smirk on her face.
Eclipse smiled back and said loudly, "Elder Mr. Jade, I'm giving you face, but that doesn't mean I'll stand here and let Robert humiliate me!"
Only now did Robert feel the sting in his forehead.
Looking around, he saw everyone staring at him with different expressions.
Mrs. Jade, who had been holding a wine glass and talking with guests, was glaring at him furiously like she wanted to rip him apart.
Up on the stage, both Elder Mr. Jade and Mr. Jade were watching—one with deep disappointment, the other with cold anger.
Robert suddenly remembered his father's earlier warning.
His anger fizzled out, and cold sweat broke out on his back. His face twisted with rage as he glared at Eclipse.
Before today, Eclipse had always put up with Robert's behavior, no matter how rude he was to her.
She had never fought back.
Robert had been tricked by Jessica's words, thinking Eclipse was still the same, helpless girl who loved him no matter what.
He hadn't expected her to stand up to him.
It wasn't until now that he realized Eclipse would actually hit him in front of everyone!
For a moment, the hall was silent, until the guests started murmuring.
"Miss Eclipse, what are you doing?"
"How dare you hit the host!"
"Eclipse, today's Mr. Lu's birthday, and he's always treated you well! Can't you just behave?"
Eclipse was about to respond when a playful, teasing voice interrupted.
"Well done!"
Robert flinched, his face going pale. He knew that voice. But why would _he_ be here?
The room went silent again, and all the girls turned toward the door, eager to see who had spoken.
