Jessica's face suddenly changed.
Tears shimmered in her eyes, and she turned pale. "Sixth Young Master, I don't understand... what do you mean?"
Mrs. Jade looked at her coldly, smirking. "Doesn't matter if you don't understand. We can all see it with our own eyes."
Jessica froze as the footage on the screen zoomed in on her hand reaching out toward Eclipse's neck.
Her face, usually so sweet, now showed a mean, sneaky smile.
"I thought Jessica was so kind, but look at that! She's scary," someone whispered.
"She's just like her mother... no good," another voice said.
Jessica could feel all the eyes on her, and her face turned pale.
She shook her head, panicking. "No, I wasn't trying to hurt her! I just wanted to help, but she hit my hand and it... it looked like I grabbed her neck."
Mrs. Rocelyn stood next to her, glaring at Eclipse. "This footage isn't clear! You're twisting everything and trying to frame Jessica!"
Mrs. Jade didn't even blink. "Fine, we can slow it down for everyone to see."
Mrs. Rocelyn's face turned all sorts of colors, but she didn't say anything.
She didn't know why Jessica went for Eclipse's neck and was just trying to change the subject.
"Why would Jessica even do that? It's not like Eclipse had anything special around her neck!"
Jessica's shoulders shook, her fists clenched, and she looked so pitiful, but Eclipse's soft laugh cut through the air. "Who said I don't have anything special?"
Everyone turned to look at Eclipse, staring at her neck.
A second later, they gasped.
Around her neck was the most beautiful diamond necklace, the stone sparkling like the stars.
She held the diamond in her hand, her voice clear. "Jessica wanted what she couldn't have, so she tried to break it."
"Is that the green diamond from the auction? The one sold for 500 million dollars?" someone asked, wide-eyed.
Robert Jade froze. His eyes locked on the diamond. He remembered that diamond clearly.
Jessica had wanted it, and he had tried to buy it for 50 million, but then some guy swooped in and bought it for 500 million.
And now, it was hanging around Eclipse's neck. What did that mean?
Robert's fists clenched, and he glared at Eclipse, who stood tall, her face calm but cold. "Jessica tried to destroy my diamond, so I hit her. Got a problem with that?"
Everyone stared at the diamond, amazed and jealous.
If what Eclipse said was true, Jessica deserved it.
"No... I didn't..." Jessica tried to say, but her voice was weak, and the footage wasn't helping her at all.
Mrs. Jade was shocked to hear about the 500 million diamond. She couldn't think of many people who could afford something like that.
If someone had spent that much on Eclipse, they must want something more important than love.
Eclipse had nothing left, except for her shares in the family business, which were worth a lot.
Even her coldness towards Robert made sense now.
Any smart woman would choose a guy willing to spend that much over someone who just hurt her again and again.
Mrs. Jade decided she needed to win Eclipse back.
She looked at Robert coldly, then turned to Eclipse with a soft smile. "Eclipse, I know you've been wronged. Robert, apologize to Eclipse."
Robert froze, his face dark. He couldn't believe his mom was telling him to apologize.
Eclipse used to be so nice to him, never saying a bad word. Now, she was humiliating him in front of everyone.
Eclipse carefully placed the diamond back on her neck. "Mrs. Jade, there's only so much I can tolerate. My time is valuable. Let go."
Mrs. Jade glared at Robert, shaking with anger. Just as she was about to shout, a loud slap echoed through the room.
Robert's eyes went wide. He had been slapped by his father.
"Dad!" Robert cried out.
Mr. Jade stared him down. "Do you think you haven't embarrassed yourself enough? It's your grandfather's birthday, and this is how you act?"
Robert was sweating, especially when he saw the patriarch of the Jade family, Mr. Jade Senior, standing up on the platform, glaring at him.
Robert looked away, his face pale.
Mr. Jade Senior didn't look at Robert long. Instead, he turned his eyes to Eclipse, his gaze deep and thoughtful.
"Eclipse," he said in a calm voice. "For my birthday, could you give me this favor?"
