Chapter 1 - Backgrounds and Origins.

???

Zayn knew not of his mother nigh his father. By no means, did he have a regular childhood either. In fact, the whole reason as to why Zayn is stuck in such an unusual, lifetime predicament is because of a foolish mistake someone had made.

Let's backtrack for more clarification;

Once upon a time, around 5000 years ago, there lived a formidable warrior which went by the name Kelios. As the term 'formidable' states, he was by no means your average runofthemill fighter. His skill proved far more superior than individuals who fought for the same reason he did. So was his unhealthy need for more power. Each day his strength and skill developed at an exceedingly fast rate. However, even he knew there was a limitation to the amount of power a mere human should have. That realization shook him to the core, drove him crazy. He couldn't stand the fact that he wasn't able to grow any stronger just because of his physical limitations he was cursed with as a human being.

And so, he turned to the dark arts…

As far as anyone in that time was concerned, the dark arts was nothing but a myth. Even so, a young Kelios was blinded by his need to get stronger, although he had been strong enough to the point where any other warrior would feel as if there is no need to excel any further. Kelios searched the far, the high, and the low. In fact, a whole 45 years of his life was dedicated to finding the true secret to dark arts. Many called him a fool. However, it didn't stop Kelios from continuing his seemingly impossible mission. As the years passed by, Kelios sensed how old and weak he had been getting. Yet, unfortunately, it only fueled his desire to turn to the dark arts even more. With wasting almost his entire human life trying to find an answer, there was no point in stopping. Kelios had nothing to lose.

It was apparent that all of his searching had finally paid off. Upon exploring an abandoned castle, Kelios discovered…

THE BOOK OF JELZRASS.

Upon opening this book, a wave of dark energy rushed over him. Kelios' skin color changed to a complete pale gray. His eyes became blood red. His limbs felt more nimble. His hunched back and impaired vision seemed like it never existed in that moment. All his complications of old age had completely disappeared. He now looked young and strong, much like he used to 45 years ago. This, to him, felt like a miracle..

However, he couldn't be any more wrong..

Not only did opening the book of jelzrass take away his human inherited weaknesses, but it took away his humanity as a whole. With this, Kelios set out for one main thing— to prove every human, along with other races, how weak and feeble they were to him. With his new found abilities, Kelios laid waste to countless cities and lands simply because he could and it was 'amusing' to him. Overtime, Kelios had developed a god complex of some sort. It seemed as if all this time, he had forgotten how noble he was before his power-hungry search for the answer to the dark arts. It was a miracle how anyone was ever even able to detain him. However, it had been done single handedly by a young warrior with a special type of concealment magic who was a bit similar to Kelios' younger self. The only difference was that this young warrior had people to guide him into the right path. Kelios refused to believe it. How he was defeated by someone not even half his age. However, during his time of concealment— his god complex never let up. He didn't change. In fact, he grew angrier and angrier as the years passed by.

5000 years later…

"Let's just kill the boy…what if he grows up and has that devil possess him??"

Those were the first words Zayn was exposed to. It was obvious, as an infant, he'd have no clue as to what was going on. With an innocent look on his face, his young optics darted towards his surroundings. There were dimly lit candles spread in a circle all around him with a strange marking on the floor of which he resided. There were funny looking cloaked individuals circled around him. Although most of their faces were sealed away in darkness, anyone was able to sense the fear and disgust they gave off towards Zayn. The dimly lit room was potent with it.

"And run the risk of  letting Kelios free? Don't be foolish, Matheus."

The individual who said that wore a far different attire than what the others were wearing. His face was visible— and surprisingly, it showed no signs of disgust and fear to the boy. So far, it seemed like he was the leader of this whole special congregation. By his will, Zayn was going to live.

The boy was raised quite strangely. He grew up in some kind of church.  Nobody there  had really interacted with him. More or less, they just gave him orders. The only individual that showed even a little bit of love and treated Zayn like a human was the leader of the congregation, which he knows as 'Father Ecleastis'.  There were  ground rules set in place by the group of people, including Father  for him to follow. So far, the ones that they emphasized the most was to not go outside and not to listen to the…..voices?

This had gravely confused Zayn. So far, there were no voices in his head. He seemed normal up until a point.

That would be on his 12th birthday, where Kelios finally reached out to him. His voice was soothing. Better to hear than Father Ecleastis', who had been currently giving him problems. Kelios was able to convince young Zayn that he was his true father, although he sees Zayn as nothing more than a brat who happened to be his vessel.

Zayn was old enough to realize that Mr. Ecleastis wasn't really his father. They were much too different apart. Therefore, Zayn longed to know his real dad…although that man had been killed by the congregation of cloaked individuals a long time ago. It was as if Kelios was able to read Zayn's desires. More or less, he got into Zayn's head and managed to get the naive boy to follow

his orders. Which was, as anyone could imagine, to escape from the church and go as far as he could with the promise that he was going to see his biological father, the one who had obviously been posing as Kelios this whole time.

The rest was history…
