The platform had no walls or handrails.
From the edges, you'd probably have a good view of the castle town below
deep within rested a menacingly ornate throne.
Wait a minute...this isn't a courtroom! It's more like...you know, the place where you draw a summoning circle to summon an evil archdemon or whatever.
