Chapter 90 - The Demon Queen Atofe Part 1

We teleported to some ruins in the middle of the desert, according to Orsted, this was the closest route to the Demon Queen Atofe's castle.

We were in the Gaslow Territory, one of the most hostile regions of the Demon Continent. The monsters that appeared in the Demon Continent were much more powerful than those in the other continents.

However, there was still an ecological balance.

Just as there were large numbers of Acid Wolves and Pax Coyotes in Biegoya, this region also had its own native flora and fauna.

There are the basilisks with their petrifying breath, the Black Drakes, freely soaring through the skies with their powerful jaws and poisonous claws,There were also the White Fanged Cobras, which were

highly agile and were covered in tough, magic-resistant scales…

Still none of those monsters were a match for us.

However, some supposedly saw this place as an inspiring one. It was home to

the greatest fort on the Demon Continent, built by the immortal Necross Lacross, one

of the Five Greats Demon Kings

Fort Necross was a three-hour distance fr

om the teleportation ruins. It was not that long of a walk, but the ruins with the teleportation circle were Deep in the mountains, some black dragons used it as a nest

The black dragons came flying towards us, so we ended up cutting them in half, one after another.

I also noticed that some of them stayed in place and didn't dare to attack, I guess it's because Orsted didn't bring his helmet this time.

We left the mountain and walked for three hours in the desert. I won't lie, I didn't remember the climate on this continent being this harsh...

Although for my defense I spent years relaxing in the northern territories with their freezing climates

In the distance I could see a large black spot in the middle of the desert

That must have been the infamous Necross fort

It was visible at first glance, the entire structure was jet black, and besides giving an imposing aura, it reminded me of the old Kishirika Castle.

Obviously we approached the entrance and there were 4 guards, all in jet black armor.

When they saw us arrive, the four of them started talking among themselves about whether to let us pass or deny us passage.

I could see how they avoided looking at Orsted at all costs, but it seems that they reached an agreement between all of them.

-They must be very brave to have crossed the mountains of the Demon Continent!- one of the guards said.

-Do you seek the honor of the paladins or the power of the Demon Queen?-

-Though that makes no difference!-

-If you wish to enter, go ahead!-

-But first you must defeat us, the personal guard.-

I stared at them in astonishment for a few moments but then Orsted walked towards them.

-We have come to see the Demon Queen Atofe, we have no intention of fighting- Orsted said approaching the group.

They trembled, I was visibly afraid, but to my surprise they stood firm.

-you can't! Anyone who wants to see Miss Atofe has to first defeat her personal guard!-one of the guards said.

Orsted frowned at this which caused the poor guards to almost piss themselves.

shit...if this continues we will end up fighting, good thing I brought the MK2

-Please, we have no intention of fighting, I came to see my grandmother- Alek said as he stood in front of us.

"Ah, Mr. Kallman, is that really you?" one of the guards said, stunned.

"That's right, I've come to pay my respects to my grandmother." Alek said with a smile.

There was a brief pause while the guards looked at Alek in shock and suddenly one of them came to his senses.

"Very well, wait here a moment please!" said one of the guards as he entered the fort.

We were now inside an audience chamber in Fort Necross, which was an open space without a roof.

A long staircase embedded between thick pillars engraved with images of demons led up to a platform.

it was was surrounded by candles with purple flames.

In front of each sail was positioned a soldier in black armor

The platform had no walls or handrails.

From the edges, you'd probably have a good view of the castle town below

deep within rested a menacingly ornate throne.

Wait a minute...this isn't a courtroom! It's more like...you know, the place where you draw a summoning circle to summon an evil archdemon or whatever. Sitting on the throne was a woman, she stood up looking genuinely excited and then spread her robe with a dramatic gesture, the sunlight over the mountains creating large shadows over her.

Her figure was truly majestic and imposing....of course, if you only concentrated on her appearance and more specifically on those enormous breasts of hers....

"It's a pleasure to meet you heroes! Good job getting here!" A woman of my height said, she had purple skin, black wings and a striking black horn on her forehead and a beast with jet black armor.

the demon queen Atoferatofe Raybaku!

-hahahaha, you should feel honored to be here mortals! I....ah!...- Atofe was in the middle of a speech until his gaze fell on us

His gaze first fell on Alek, a hint of disappointment crossed his eyes, then he looked at Orsted and made a visible grimace and finally he looked at me and his eyes widened.

Atofe looked at me for a few moments, raised his wings, rose into the air and dropped, landing right in front of me.

She looked me straight in the eyes, instinctively looked away and Atofe put on a terrifying smile.

-fuahahahaha!!!, so the rumors are true eh?!, Rudeus Greyrat is resurrected!!- Atofe said in an excited tone

-eh, yes Miss Atofe, i resurrected, you see...-

"No need! Everyone knows the news, the idiot Peragius revived you, didn't he?" Atofe said with a murderous look.

"Eh...yes, he revived me," I murmured.

-fuahahahahaha, I imagined it, I knew it, that idiot couldn't fight Laplace alone even if he became a Dragon God! - Atofe said while looking at Orsted

-hah.....yes it could be said that that's why I was revived- I murmured to play along.

-fuahahahaha, that's obvious, very obvious!, but...why are you here, why are all of you here?- Atofe said while pointing his finger at Orsted and Alek.

-And especially your Alek! You dare to come after having been defeated so humiliatingly in the Biheriel kingdom- Atode said with open hostility.

Poor Alek could only hang his head in shame.

ok...this is getting out of control...

-Well, Miss Atofe, it's been 5 years since I died...-

"Get to the point!" Atofe shouted, interrupting me.

(sigh) -We want to recruit you again to fight on the human side against Laplace again- I said looking into her eyes.

Atofe looked into my eyes for a few moments, if I wasn't with Orsted I would have already run away like a little dog with its tail between its legs.

But now I had to show my own value so I looked her in the eyes the same way and frowned, At this Atofe smiled macabrely.

-hehehehe, I like that look, it's the same look as Kall's, the look of a man without fear and who takes everything by force, I love that look!!- Atofe said while laughing like a movie villain

-ha...and why should I join you again? I already joined your cause once- Atofe said in a serious tone.

Suddenly one of Atofe's soldiers approached her and whispered something in her ear.

Atofe listened carefully but quickly an expression of disgust formed on his face and then it turned into anger.

-As if I didn't know, you idiot!- Atofe said and then hit the guard, sending him flying until he crashed against a wall.

With the same fist with which he had just hit the guard, Atofe pointed at me.

-you! and no one but you! If you want me to join your cause again, you must first defeat my personal guard fuajajajaj! - Atofe said and she immediately rose in flight until he sat on his throne

"Eh?! Grandma! We're not here to fight!" Alek said in panic.

"Shut up, don't interfere! Much less your Dragon God! If either of you interferes, I will reject your offer to join you!" Atofe shouted from his throne.

I was frozen in place

Shit, this wasn't supposed to happen!

I looked at Orsted and Alek for help, Alek shrugged at his grandmother's orders and Orsted sighed heavily taking a step back.

"Normally I would intervene but Atofe's help is of utmost importance" Orsted murmured.

Damn bitches, thank you, lizard with legs!
