Chapter 42 - training

I was late for work by more than 4 hours, I quickly excused myself for what happened last night, my grandchildren confronted me in my own house after midnight, Orsted had already accepted my apology but I still said it, we are terribly late so we decided to travel to Shirone tomorrow

The plan is the same but now the news spread faster than I thought, even Orsted was surprised.

We could not reverse this result so now we would go from country to country corroborating the "rumors" of my resurrection.

I could see Orsted certainly tense about the trip to Shirone, my son Siegh is a royal knight there and right-hand man of the current king Pax Shirone Jr.

the only son of Pax Shirone, although I had my doubts Orsted clarified that the king is nothing like his father which is a relief

Another thing to be aware of: my son is the 5th world power "The Death God", he earned that title almost 40 years ago after defeating the previous Death God Randolph Marianne

And the reason why Orsted is worried? Well, it is for two simple reasons:

The first is that Siegh, unlike his predecessor, is stronger than Alek and that the current Sword God

The second is that Siegh was very attached to my version of the future in a certain sense, he admired me a lot in short.

Although Sylphie already confirmed that I am alive, I don't know how he is going to react, but I still have Orsted to keep him in line.

I decided to practice my gravity and electric magic in a sparring with Alek

I still haven't developed it enough to lift a person and I realized I was using it on the wrong person.

Alek was more than used to using gravity magic so I opted for electric which had a greater effect but Alek is so fast that I missed 8 out of 10 shots

using the MK2 was a different story, I could barely keep up with Alek's speed, my gravity magic was more effective, I used wind magic to send him flying and I finished him off on the ground with increased gravity magic with the MK2

I used absolute zero to freeze his feet and leave him glued to the ground and thus threw a quagmire followed by stone bullets which he could not completely dodge.

I can afford to be arrogant enough to call it a close battle.

but Alek had the advantage of experience and his speed that it turns out that he always holds back against me

When he used it to the maximum, I couldn't even follow him with my premonition eye, his image blurred and he knocked me out with a kick and the battle ended there.

..

..

I woke up shortly after that.

In short, I lack speed, strategies, the will to kill and Touki...

The truth is my progress has been minimal except for learning the new magic and armor but I don't see myself fighting with the sword in the near future

Speaking of these, Orsted began to train me in swordsmanship, according to him my affinity school is the North God Style , followed by the Water God Style and finally the Sword God Style

and these were my ranks:

North God: intermediate

Water God: intermediate

Sword God: beginner

ranges that could be called average so to speak....

according to Orsted with the magic armor as my replacement for the Touki I should be able to reach at least Saint of the North and Water

and in sword god minimally advanced

Although my learning level is not the best...but it has only been less than 1 week since I started training, don't demand too much from me!

But seriously, Orsted decided to concentrate on my training in the North God style followed by the Water God style.

The truth is I won't lie if I say that I feel excited about what I can achieve but talking is different from doing it.

Since I would do better in the North God, Orsted decided to have Alek train me in that style.

Our first lesson was to throw a sword at your enemy, most of the time this is a last resort technique in case you lose a limb in battle, the users of the north god style throw their sword at their enemies as a final blow

When I fought with Eris's kidnappers many years ago in Roa I was able to see this technique, which almost killed me if it weren't for Ghislaine

Alek demonstrated to me with a common sword, he threw it at a rock and it embedded itself perfectly in the middle.

I tried to replicate it but my sword deviated halfway, Alek explained to me that it takes strength, speed and precision.

I repeated the process several times and the results...

The sword deviated again in the middle of the path, the sword reached the rock but hit with the handle, the sword hit with the dull part, the sword broke..., the sword arrived with the sharp part but it only bounced on the rock leaving just a scratch...

The truth is, the times I missed were too embarrassing to count them all, but I was able to notice a slight improvement later since after a while I started hitting the rock, leaving a scratch that got bigger and bigger...

but I got fed up...I decided to concentrate...

"fuuuuu....here we go.." I mumbled to myself.

I decided to use both hands this time, I raised the sword until the blunt part hit my shoulder... I got into position and threw it...

The sword flew with a whirr towards the rock and...it embedded slightly...

I approached the place of impact and indeed the sword was slightly embedded in the stone, only the tip part to clarify... to my surprise Alek was surprised by this, he said that no one has this progress in a single day

He even called me a prodigy...maybe he was just praising his superior but it felt good...

Alek decided to finish the training for today since tomorrow we were going to Shirone

"Mr. Rudeus, your progress was honestly impressive, I would dare say that you could reach the northern outpost in a short time," said Alek.

"Really?" I asked incredulously.

The truth is that this left me sincerely surprised, we are talking about God of the North style.

the most powerful swordsman in his rank

If he says it it's because it's true

"Of course, Mr. Rudeus, there is no one more qualified to say it than me...or my father..." Alek said at the end with a murmur.

We ended the day there and I decided to return home to rest, the sword training drained me of almost all my energy, but who said it would be easy, right?

Tomorrow we would go to Shirone, there was my son Siegh the god of death

I suggested carrying the MK2 in case of emergency and Orsted agreed.

We would even decide to take Sylphie with me in addition to Nanahoshi, but we would have to ask her first.

The truth is that going there makes me more nervous than when I went to Asura, I wouldn't face my own son, right?...
