"What's going on with you guys?"
George tossed Black Widow to the ground and raised his hand, casting a few knockout spells that took down the mutant clones attacking Tony.
Unlike Wolverine, who is nearly indestructible and can't truly die even when suppressed, Tony relies entirely on his armored suit. If the suit is destroyed, he becomes an ordinary human, and that could lead to his death.
"You'll have to ask Jacket Wolf about that. He can't bring himself to hurt his former comrades, especially that woman," Tony panted, gesturing toward the Phoenix clone bodies ahead with a hint of sarcasm.
It turned out that while Wolverine could go all out against Black King, White Queen, and Red Devil—even against Sabretooth and his own clones—he found it much harder to strike against the X-Men clones. This hesitation was especially pronounced when facing those nine Phoenix clones.
"Iron Man, don't call me Jacket Wolf! I may hold back against former comrades, but you seem to hold back against all women!"
At that moment, Wolverine managed to break free from Phoenix's grasp and retreated to George and Tony's side.
Tony adjusted his suit and replied matter-of-factly, "I prefer to fight them in bed, not here where I'm smashing them to pieces. That's just not gentlemanly."
"You deserve to be beaten up like this!"
George rolled his eyes at Tony's comment.
"We can't waste any more time; with all this noise, the police will be here before long."
"Restore to original!"
He waved his hand and cast a repair spell to return his shattered armor to its former state. Ignoring Tony, who looked utterly bewildered, he began reallocating combat tasks:
"You two will handle the non-X-Men and male mutant clones; I'll take care of the rest!"
In George's eyes, there were only enemies and allies—no distinction between men and women. Gentlemanly conduct was something he reserved for his own kind. As a Sigma man, he would fight with full force against any opponent, regardless of gender, to show respect.
"Transform!"
With a giant spell, George morphed into a nearly four-meter tall giant. Grabbing a spiked mace, he leaped toward the group of Phoenix women and spun around like a windmill, smashing through a large portion of them.
Next, he unleashed a flurry of spells: knockout spells, binding spells, and confusion spells, all while manipulating blades with magnetic force. It was like a harvest as he quickly began to clear out the mutant clones.
In just a few minutes, the multitude of female mutant clones, including Phoenix, Storm, Mystique, Shadowcat, and White Queen, lay in tatters, defeated by George.
"What a freak!"
Watching George fight, both Tony and Wolverine were momentarily stunned.
On one hand, they found George's ruthless approach against so many beautiful women quite disturbing; on the other hand, they were in awe of his extraordinary power.
Previously, they had mostly witnessed George's arcing shots and various magic-like tricks, but seeing him fight with such intensity was a first for them.
With the female mutant clones taken care of and their fears dispelled, Tony and Logan unleashed their true powers.
Now that his suit had been repaired, Tony deployed small tracking missiles capable of easily demolishing tanks. The powerful explosions were too much for the clones of Black King to absorb fully, resulting in their immediate destruction.
Logan completely abandoned defense, launching a full-on assault with his razor-sharp adamantium claws, leaving no one able to withstand his strikes.
Ultimately, clones are just clones. The strongest among them barely reached a Tier 3 threshold, and without numbers in the thousands, they weren't much of a threat.
"Is this beautiful lady also a mutant clone?"
After dealing with all the mutant clones, Tony approached the unconscious Black Widow, a look of amazement crossing his face. He had seen many stunning women, but few matched the beauty and figure of Black Widow.
"She's Black Widow, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Don't worry about her; the police are coming, and we need to leave!"
Hearing the distant wail of police sirens approaching, George quickly grabbed the bodies of the mutant clones and hurled them into the burning research facility behind them. He then used a cleansing spell to eliminate all traces of blood.
The purpose of this was to prevent anyone from using the genetic material of these mutant clones for further experiments.
After handling everything, he returned to his normal size, unfolded his wings, and carried Wolverine and Iron Man directly back to the X-Jet, which was hidden in the air.
Just moments after they left, a large contingent of Mexican police arrived in patrol cars at the raging inferno that was the research facility.
"Sorry, ma'am, you're under arrest. We suspect you're connected to the murder and arson at the leukemia research center. Please cooperate with our investigation!"
Upon regaining consciousness, Black Widow heard the words of the Mexican officer before noticing the handcuffs on her wrists. A confused look crossed her face as a memory flooded her mind.
In her recollection, she had successfully infiltrated the research center under the guise of Mrs. Natalia. When she was discovered while stealing information, she had fought with the guards. To escape, she set the facility on fire, only to be knocked unconscious by the explosion.
The memories felt so real, but her exceptional logic led her to notice many inconsistencies.
"I need to get rid of these officers first," she thought.
Leaning slightly forward to attract the officer's attention with her alluring figure, she delivered an elbow strike that took him down easily. Then, she pulled the key from his pocket to unlock her handcuffs and kicked open the back door of the patrol car, jumping inside.
From there, it was a matter of stealing the car and making her getaway while contacting headquarters to report the situation.
Meanwhile, George and the others returned to Tony's Malibu mansion aboard the X-Jet, dropping Tony off. After the battle, Tony's suit was critically low on power, leaving him unable to fly back on his own.
Once Tony was safely returned, George and the others went back to the mutant school. As soon as they arrived, George sought out the elderly Professor X and recounted the details of their recent mission.
Afterward, he pulled out a young clone of Professor X from his pocket.
"What do you think, Professor? Can you transfer your consciousness into this body?"
"I can transfer, but I'm not particularly eager to do so," Professor X sighed.
"I'm already a dead man. I'm alive now only to help these children with a few things."
When his memories returned, he had wished for death. The only reason he hadn't died was that the students still needed a qualified teacher.
Upon hearing the Professor's words, George hadn't even begun to persuade him when Wolverine stepped forward, gripping Professor X's shoulders excitedly:
"Charles, pull yourself together! With a healthy body, you can teach the kids better. In your current state, you can barely get through a few lessons before you're exhausted.
You have a chance to make amends; living is a better way to do that than dying. Death is just an escape, and you know that better than I do!"
With Wolverine's urging, Professor X finally agreed to transfer his consciousness into the younger clone.
