present day in the magical realm
Lord lungu always wanted to wait for his true mate. But the death of his father left him with no choice. When his father was killed in the war that almost wiped out the entire magical kingdom. Lord Davon lungu was named the new ruler of the great Mountains for he was next in line.
But For him to be considered a strong leader his mother arranged for him to be mated to the daughter of one of the nobles. He begged his mother to change her mind but she told him that he was doing it for the good of the great mountains and the kingdom. She also told him that because of the war, not everyone will be able to find their true mate. And so against his better judgment, he accepted to be mated with a witch.
Before he met the Dragon Princess Rose he was content with what he had. A loving mate and two beautiful daughters.Until she walked in at one of the gatherings the royal family organized. Everyone's eyes had turned when she walked in. She had this strong aura that made everyone around her want to kneel for her. Maybe it's because of the Dragon part of her. She seemed to exude power and confidence, and her presence demanded respect. It was as if she carried a certain fiery energy within her, sparking a sense of reverence in those around her. People couldn't help but be drawn to her magnetic charm and commanding presence, feeling an innate desire to bow before her and acknowledge her regal presence. It was as if she were a mythical creature, a force to be reckoned with, and those in her presence couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and admiration for her strength and majesty. And when her eyes locked with his, he knew she was his fated mate. His other half, one created by Amorae and Avotalis god and goddess of union just for him. Her scent took his breath away and her brown eyes were so captivating.
After that night he was never the same. He wanted her more than he ever wanted any woman before. They both failed to control their feelings for each other And started to see each other in private. Her carefree character made him love her even more. He loved the way her eyes would sparkle and draw him to her and her laughter was intoxicating. Their Connection grew as they continued their secret affair. But not everything stays hidden forever, their affair was discovered and many species accused Princess Rose of being a mate bond wrecker.
But when they found out that she was Lord Lungu's true mate. The council members advised him to take her as his second mate. But when he asked her to be his second mate she refused, not wanting to be always viewed as his second option.
To avoid more insults, Princess Rose cut all ties with lord lungu. She left the Crystal Kingdom and went back to the Oval Kingdom the home of dragons. Dragons rarely involve themselves in the affairs of other species and rarely mate with them. They mostly find their mates among themselves.
The Oval Kingdom is considered sacred by the dragons, they rarely allow other species to enter it. So when Princess Rose left lord lungu was not allowed to see her. Her brother went as far as to threaten his life if he ever tried to reach her. And the fact that he was already mated to someone else made it worse
A few months after Princess cut ties with lord Lungu news broke that she was missing. He has been blaming himself since then, that maybe if he had done something different back then she would still be here. If only he had stood his ground and refused to mate with Ruby he would have lived happily with his fated mate.
"My lord, shall we go talk in private?" The seer asks, interrupting his thoughts.
"No, you can tell me here. I am sure everyone in this room wants to know what you want to tell me, even though they might not admit it." Lord lungu says looking at lady lungu.
"Well, I had a vision an hour ago. In my vision, Princess Rose looked the same as she looked twenty-one years ago but also different. Her powers seem to be growing.."
"Is that not normal for dragons, they age slowly." Lord lungu says.
"It is normal but I don't think her inability to age has anything to do with her being a dragon. She looked like she had undergone a certain change. There is something about her that's different." The seer tells lord lungu.
"Do you mean to say, princess Rose was turned into a vampire seer?" Lord lungu asks.
"I am not sure about her being turned into a vampire my lord, but she looked different. I can only tell you what I saw and it's not good. I think she is in danger. I am also worried that bringing her here will put our people in danger."
"Did you by any chance see anything that can help us find her?" lady Lungu finds herself asking, surprising both herself and everyone else.
"No, I could only see strange glimpses. It's like she does not want to be found. She put a protection spell on herself that even a powerful seer like me can't break."
"Is that even possible?" Nichole asks.
"Yes, it's possible, especially for a witch like Princess Rose. She is from a line of powerful witches and she is also a dragon. The magic in her dragon is very powerful; it can sometimes help someone cloak themselves for a very long time." The seer explains.
"Then we should let her be if she does not want to be found," Sarah says looking at her father.
"We can not make that decision until we know for sure. What if someone forced her to cloak herself?" Says Lady lungu, catching everyone's attention once again.
"What are you trying to say, Ruby?" Lord lungu asks.
"I think Princess Rose would never want to cloak herself without a good reason." Says Lady lungu.
"Lady lungu is right, we can not decide what to do right now. And my vision was not clear. I am sorry for disturbing your meal. I will have to retire to my chambers now. I will let you know as soon as I learn something." The seer says as stands to leave.
"You can join us for dinner and then return to your chambers later." Says lord lungu.
"I would love to but I already ate before I came here. I will join you next time. Have a good night my lord, my lady, ladies." The seer says bowing before leaving the room.
"I had no idea there was a spell that can prevent seers from having visions about someone," Sarah says, snapping everyone out of their heads.
"It is a very dangerous spell that can only be done by powerful witches. And even they have to be experienced, so don't even try to do it alone." Lord lungu says looking at his youngest daughter.
"Of course father, I won't do it even though I am curious."
"Good, I don't want to have to ban my daughter from doing magic."
Sarah is about to say something when Lady Lungu starts shaking and falls holding her chest. Her face looks pained.
"Father, What's wrong with Mother? Why is she shaking? What should we do? " Rachel asks with fear. Of all Lord Lungu's daughters, Rachel is the most emotional one. She always thinks with her heart, not her head. Which is good but sometimes it makes others take advantage of her goodness.
"Move, let me see what I can do." Lord lungu puts his hand on her forehead and she stops shaking.
"I have eased her pain but whatever caused her to start shaking may happen again. I will take her to our bed chambers and put a sleeping spell on her so that she rests as we find out what's causing this." Lord lungu tries to lift his mate but she stops him as she sits down.
"Don't put me to sleep, she is in danger. She needs me, "she whispers.
"Ruby, what are you talking about? Who is in danger? Is it Rose?" lord lungu asks.
"I don't think the lady the seer saw is Princess Rose." Lady lungu says with a very low voice.
"What do you mean and how would you know whether it Is Princess Rose or Not?"
"Take me to our chambers. I can't talk here because there are too many ears. you will never know who Is listening." Lord lungu looks at her contemplating and then he helps her up and lets her lean on him.
"You should come with us, what I want to say concerns you too." Lady Lungu tells her daughters. The young ladies look at each other and follow their parents.
The servants look at them as they walk by. Once they reach the chambers, Lord lungu lights some candles saying some words.
"Okay, we are good, no one will be able to hear us. you can tell us." Lord lungu says sitting beside his wife.
"I think the witch the seer saw is not Princess Rose." She says.
"You said that already. And how would you know that?" He asks looking into her eyes as if trying to find the answers deep in her soul.
"I saw Princess Rose before she disappeared, she sent one of her ravens to call me." Lady lungu says avoiding eye contact with her mate.
"Why would Princess Rose want to see you? You never liked each other." Sarah asks.
"She needed help with something. There was no one else to help her. She needed someone she could trust."
"Do you expect me to believe that? If Princess Rose needed help I am sure she would have asked one of her family members to help her. Ruby everyone knows that you hate Princess Rose because she is my true mate. Did you kill her?" He asks the last part with a growl.
Lady lungu looks at lord lungu with hurt in her eyes. No matter what she does lord lungu will not consider her to be his complete. He blames her for not having the life he wanted.
"No, I do not expect you to believe me because you only see the worst in me. But I am used to your behavior such that your actions don't hurt me anymore. And no I did not kill Princess Rose, I might have hated her but I would never have stooped so low to kill her. Both Princess Rose and I are victims of fate. We both suffer because of the decision you made a long time ago." Lady Lungu says with tears in her eyes. Lord lungu wants to say something but stops himself when he realizes that his daughters are in the room.
"What did she want your help with?" Lord lungu asks.
"She was pregnant the last time I saw her. She told me that she was going to have a daughter. That's the reason why I think the witch the seer saw is not Princess Rose but her daughter." Everyone in the room does not say a word or even move from their spot, They are all staring at Lady Lungu with different expressions. Lady lungu waits for one of them to say something but no one does, they just keep on staring at her making her feel uncomfortable.
