"Would you like your coffee now, ma'am?" he asked avoiding eye contact. I looked at him, smiled and answered "Yes, you know I always have my coffee now and who is ma'am?" He smiled at me and left my office avoiding my question.
Being the only child to my parents, Logan and Olivia Caddel, the owners of Caddel Jewellery, I was the rightfull heir of the family company. I, Amelia Caddel, was sworn CEO of the Caddel Jewellery like two months ago. The company was before in the good hands of my dad and it did quite well and i always dreamt of being the CEO of the company.
After being sworn in I came with some new rules for the company as the ones before were quite "not to my standard" I'd say. The new rules included bringing in my new secretary, Ryder Authur. He was quite handsome and appealing and I "loved" him.
"So, how's the new CEO in town doing? It's been quite some time, whats up?" Mia asked me as we were having lunch. "I am doing fine, it's just that it's taking some time to adapt to my new schedule and all that but it's been good so far. And now that I have a "personal assistant" it's a bit easier." I answered her blushing abit and she noticed and asked about it. "You know its been just two months and we are both busy with our work and you know I cant bring that topic up because remember, we are collegues and there are rules against collegues relationships. And further more, he should be in a relationship because someone that cute can't be single an..." She cut me short," You can't know if he is single or dating when you haven't asked him. And another thing, what if he is meant to be your soulmate and you are here holding yourself back with some stupid rule that you are collegues, since when did Amelia start following rules?"
"You know I am the CE...." She cut me again, "Cut me some slack Amelia, don't give me that bullshit when you know that can't be the reason for you to hold back. Just be you and you never know, the rules may need changes sooner or later . You know I got you in whatever you do. Follow your heart and you need to be happy because this journey you have started now, doesn't need you to be stressed. You need to be productive. So follow your little heart. " We laughed it off and continued with our lunch. I did not put much thought into it because I know we can be silly at times but I know she meant what she said. She is a great advocater of personal peace and mental well-being if that makes sense. I loved her. She is a sister I never had or will ever have so her input in anything I do was a must.
Ryder Authur as we all knew him, was a well built young man. He was in his early forties but could have been mistaken for a decade younger. He had full black hair that was always neatly combed into place. I wondered when he touched up his hair as it was always neat. He had very a attractive pair of blue eyes that was well placed on his symmetrical face. His nose was prominent but aquiline . His smile would always reveal his pearl white and perfect teeth. I always thought he had a very strict training routine because his body was perfectly built and he had enough muscles, not too much and not too little, that actually was remarkable fit, powerful and magnificent.
