The System announced. [ Host, you are now powerful enough to do treasure hunting. You are given a treasure hunt map, which will guide you to the treasure hunting grounds. ]
The System continued. [ Treasure Hunt Map: This map will show you the way to various treasures and help you find different types of treasures. It will work like a key, granting you access to the hidden treasure grounds. However, once the doors are opened, they cannot be closed unless you take the treasure from there. ]
Yun took the map in his hands, studying it intently. He wondered, "Most of the locations marked on this map are inhabited by humans. How will I retrieve the treasure without damaging anyone's property?"
The System reassured. [ Don't worry, Host. Those places are hidden in different dimensions, and no ordinary person can access them without this map. Once you enter, you'll have only 30 minutes to exit. If you fail to do so, you'll be trapped. However, anyone who is already inside can come out once the door opens. But be careful: when you claim the treasure, the place will collapse. You will then only have 5 minutes to escape. ]
Yun steeled himself and said, "Alright, let's head to our first and nearest destination."
With a deep breath, Yun set off towards the unknown, the treasure map in hand, and a sense of adventure coursing through his veins. The thrill of the challenge and the promise of hidden riches drove him forward, undaunted by the risks that lay ahead. As he approached the first location, a shimmering portal materialized before him, beckoning him to enter. With a resolute step, Yun crossed the threshold, leaving the familiar world behind.
Since Yun was in India, the first place he visited was the forest of Kondagaon, a dense and desolate region in the state of Chhattisgarh. The locals believed that ghosts inhabited this forest, striking fear into the hearts of those who dared to approach. Undeterred, Yun followed the map's directions, which led him to the heart of the forest. As he reached the designated spot, a radiant white light emanated from the map, encircling a specific area before dissipating. In its place, a shimmering wormhole materialized, serving as the entrance to the unknown. The words "The Shadowed Scourge" were etched above the wormhole, casting an ominous tone.
Yun hesitated, his heart racing with trepidation, but the System's urging compelled him to step forward. With a deep breath, he steeled himself and entered the wormhole, leaving the familiar world behind. The darkness enveloped him, and the silence was palpable as he ventured into the unknown, driven by the promise of treasure and the thrill of adventure.
"Wow!" Yun exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise. "Isn't this a beautiful place? System, what is all this? I thought the Treasure Hunting Grounds would be, well, more beautiful. I expected to see new and exciting things, but this place is completely ruined!"
The System responded. [ Did you think this will be a game dungeon? ]
Yun nodded, "Yeah, something like that. Anyway, where's the treasure?"
The System replied. [ You will find the treasure at the end of this place. But be careful... ]
Yun's curiosity was piqued. "What do you mean? What should I be careful of?"
The System's response was cryptic. [ You will find out. ]
Yun's excitement was tempered with a hint of trepidation as he ventured deeper into the unknown, his senses heightened, and his heart racing with anticipation. The air was thick with an eerie silence, and the shadows seemed to whisper secrets, warning him of the dangers that lay ahead.
Yun pressed on towards his goal, but all he saw were ruins stretching out before him. As he reached the end of the Treasure Hunting Ground, his confusion grew. "What is this? There's nothing here! You said there would be treasure!"
The System's response was nonchalant. [ When did I say that you would definitely find treasure in the treasure hunting ground? ]
Yun's realization dawned on him, "...Yeah, you're right. This means that out of all the locations marked on this treasure hunt map, only a few will actually have treasure. Let's go somewhere else..."
But before he could even finish his sentence, a sudden attack from behind sent him flying across the room. Yun crashed into a wall, the impact knocking the wind out of him. "Thud! Argh!" he groaned, struggling to get back to his feet.
As Yun gazed ahead, a gargantuan scorpion came into view, its menacing form making him wonder, "What in the world is this thing?" He pondered whether he could emerge victorious against such a formidable foe.
Yun decided to use his skill, "System, activate Energy Sense!"
The System responded. [ Skill Energy Sense being activated. Energy Level: Orange, Grade Gold. ]
Yun's eyes widened in awe, "Wow, it's incredibly powerful! But still, less powerful than me." With a confident grin, he charged forward, unleashing a barrage of bare-handed attacks on the scorpion.
However, the scorpion proved to be a nimble opponent, effortlessly dodging Yun's strikes and counterattacking with its venomous stinger. This dance of attack and counterattack repeated itself several times, with Yun finding himself on the receiving end of the scorpion's blows.
Perplexed, Yun thought, "I'm much more powerful than this scorpion, yet I'm losing to it? How is this possible?" Despite his confusion, Yun refused to back down, determined to uncover the secrets behind the scorpion's unexpected strength.
Even as Yun struggled to gain the upper hand, the System posed a question. [ How many times have you fought someone using your power? ]
Yun's eyes widened in realization, "Oh, I see! You mean I have no experience in fighting. That's why I'm losing. This scorpion is actually a practice material for me!"
With newfound determination, Yun emerged from the Treasure Hunting Ground, eager to hone his skills. He began wreaking havoc in the surrounding area, fighting the scorpion with renewed vigor. But to his surprise, the scorpion suddenly turned tail and started running away.
Yun stood there, watching in amusement as the scorpion fled in fear. He turned to the System with a triumphant grin, "See, System? That scorpion is running away in fear of me!"
The System's silence was almost palpable, but Yun didn't need a response. He knew he had learned a valuable lesson – that experience and practice were just as important as power. And with that, Yun continued on his journey, ready to face new challenges and hone his skills.
The System's warning echoed in Yun's mind: [ Host, this scorpion's energy level is Orange, Grade Gold. ]
Yun's initial nonchalance quickly turned to alarm as he realized the of the situation. "So?" he asked, his tone laced with a hint of uncertainty.
[ Humans have no energy level. ] The System replied, its digital voice firm and unyielding.
Yun's eyes widened in horror as the implications sank in. "Oh! If this scorpion goes near humans, they'll all die." The thought sent a shiver down his spine.
[ Not just them. ] The System continued. [ The creatures of the entire earth will be in danger. ]
Yun's heart raced as he knew he had to act fast. "Aaaaah! I have to do something!" With a deep breath, he activated his abilities: speed, shielding, and strength. In a flash, he closed the distance between himself and the scorpion, his fist glowing with an otherworldly energy. With a powerful punch, he struck the scorpion, blowing it to pieces. The impact was so immense that the area within a 5 km (3.10 mile) radius became barren.
As the dust settled, Yun turned to the System, his voice laced with a mix of awe and trepidation. "System, whose strength ability did you activate?"
The System's response sent shivers down his spine. [ Dragon King. ]
Yun's voice was laced with frustration and confusion. "Why? Why did you do that? You could have activated someone else's strength ability."
The System's response was calm and collected. [ I did what I thought was right, considering the Scorpion's level. Anyway, you can only use 40% of Dragon King's power right now. ]
Yun's eyes widened in awe. "This was only 40% strength. So what would 100% be?" He paused, thinking about the implications. "Wait a minute, but you said that as my energy level increases, this percentage will increase. But my energy level is Red, three levels lower than Dragon King. Then why did this percentage only reach 40% till now?"
The System's explanation was matter-of-fact. [ Because each energy level is more powerful than the previous one. One Black grade Silver can defeat ten Purple grade Platinum, and one hundred Blue grade Platinum. As your level increases, this percentage will also increase. Anyway, find any part of this Scorpion and copy the ability. ]
Yun's face contorted in disgust. "Uegh! I don't want to do this. This is so gross."
The System's retort was dry. [ You've touched even grosser things than this. ]
Yun's response was a silent stare.
