Chapter 115 - FGO Singularity [5]

Third POV:

Chaldea's group with the addition of Svend and Drasil were now walking back towards the village to regroup and come up with a plan.

"So, Uhmm, Drasil, you said you know who we are?" Ritsuka began the conversation as they walked back.

Drasil nodded with a soft smile. "I do. You are Chaldea. A group meant to protect humanity, and you are here to solve this anomaly to ensure the safety of history."

"How do you know that?" Da Vinci's face popped up. "I hardly believe the knowledge servants gain from the Grail include that."

"I have... let's say, a form of Clairvoyance," Drasil explained with a thoughtful look. "I can see a lot of things and have knowledge beyond most beings. Even most gods don't know what I know."

"Take it from me, she's not exaggerating," Svend added.

Ritsuka and Mash simply looked at Drasil in amazement while the little girl herself turned her stare to Medusa. "And why are YOU looking at me?" She asked with a tired tone, hoping to avoid another Scathach.

Drasil simply chuckled. "You're as beautiful as he said."

Medusa blinked while Scathach huffed and crossed her arms. "She's nothing special if you ask me."

"Jealousy is not a good color on you," Drasil teased.

"I am not jealous, child."

Drasil suddenly stopped in her tracks. "What did you call me?" She asked and glared at Scathach, causing everyone but Svend - who sighed - to blink at her. "Did you just call me a child?!"

"That is what you-"

"No, I'm not!" Drasil exploded in a huff and began waving her staff at Scathach in anger. "I'm older than everyone here combined, and that's counting the time they were dead! You think you get to act like an adult because what? You lived for JUST three thousand measly years!? Well, let me tell you something, brat! I- Mph"

Drasil was cut off as Svend covered her mouth from behind with a tired look. "I miss when only Meistari can hear you," he said as Drasil flailed around in rage.

(-X~)

"I'm Zaraka, it's nice to meet you," Zaraka greeted the two new members of the group.

As soon as they returned, they were greeted by Zaraka while Sebastian was busy dealing with the people, the state of unrest keeping the elder quite busy.

"Svend. A pleasure," the large man took Zaraka's hand in a handshake.

"Svend, Zaraka is one of Zack's worshipers," Drasil stated causing both Lancer and Shielder to blink in surprise.

"The group that worships Meistari from the forest?" "Wait, you know Great Zack?"

"Uhmm... Roman?" Ritsuka asked as the doctor showed up.

"Don't look at me," Roman said looking equally confused. "I have no idea what they're talking about. Maybe it has something to do with Zakrim and the Skogvættir that raised Svend."

"Skogvættir?" Ritsuka looked even more confused.

"Forest spirits," Da Vinci appeared besides Roman. "Svend the Shield King was said to have been raised by a great and powerful forest spirit. In Norse Myth, forest spirits are called Skogvættir. Roman might be on to something since Zakrim is said to have been a forest spirit itself."

"No, you're wrong," Drasil suddenly spoke while shaking her head and looked at the holographic screen showing Da Vinci and Roman. "They're not connected. They are the same. Zack was Zakrim and the one who raised Svend."

"Wait! Are you telling me that Zakrim from Babylon Myth is the same as the Skogvættir from the Norse Myth?!" Roman asked with clear shock in his expression.

"That's not all," Drasil turned to Medusa with a knowing smile. "Is it, Medusa?"

The youngest Gorgon sighed seeing the attention of the rest of the group turn towards her. "What you people call 'Zeke' is actually named 'Zack', and yes. He was the same person."

"Okay! Stop!" Roman held his hands up looking bewildered. "Twice is already a bit too much, but now THREE TIMES? Didn't the story say Zeke was a monster made from metal, rock, and wood?"

"Like I said, you humans bastardise stories," Medusa shrugged. "Zack was never a 'beast' and I never tamed him. He stayed in the Shapeless Isels out of his own choice. As for the rest, Zack had the ability to switch elements at will."

"Switch elements on will?" Da Vinci placed a hand on her chin with an impressed look. "That's... a really impressive feat. If I understand, then Zack was most likely an Elemental, and a very powerful one at that. Normally, Elementals can't just change their core element, but you're saying he did it easily?"

"How come we've never known about this?" Roman asked, looking down.

"Zack travelled a lot and tended to make quite an impact," Medusa said while placing a hand on her waist.

"Scathach, didn't you also mention the name Zack?" Mash asked, remembering the warrior queen saying it in an earlier conversation.

"I've encountered a being made of pure elements once," Scathach crossed her arms. "He was... one of the beings that could actually kill me, but refused to do so. I won't go into details on why because that is rather personal, but he stayed in my castle for some time to deal with some personal business."

"To be connected to so many myths and change elements at will," Roman looked in shock. "He must have been a very powerful Elemental. I still can't believe we didn't know about him before."

"Zack wasn't a strong Elemental, he was the STRONGEST Elemental," Drasil added with a firm look. "Zack was, in fact, recognised by the world as the 'strongest', and as for you not knowing about him, you might do but with a different name. Give me a second," she said before closing her eyes.

Everyone looked as Drasil simply stood still with her eyes closed for a few seconds before opening them again.

"I see, it seems you Magus do know about Zack," Drasil said before looking at Roman. "However, you know him as 'Elementor."

Da Vinci's eyes flew wide open and Roman's face became blank. "I'm sorry, did you say Elementor?" He asked and Drasil nodded. Roman took a deep breath. "Give me a minute," he said before turning off the communicator.

The area went quiet as the group blinked. Mash looked at Ritsuka in confusion and the Master shrugged, showing he has no idea what's going on.

The holographic screen turned on again to show Roman taking a deep breaths while Da Vinci was giving him a scandalous look.

"That was... some colorful language, Roman," Da Vinci commented. "Just to be clear, you never used that kind of language near Mash, right?"

"No, I didn't," he sighed in annoyance.

"So... who's Elementor?" Ritsuka asked.

Roman would have been shocked if he didn't know that Ritsuka didn't come from any Magus related family. "Well, to explain that, do you know who Lord Brishisan is?"

Ritsuka looked in thought for a moment before snapping his fingers. "He's the Director of the Clock Tower, right?"

"Well, good to see your lessons with El-Melloi are paying off," Roman commented before his face turned serious. "Lord Brishisan is the acting director for the Clock Tower and has been for over two thousand years. A long time ago he made an announcement to all Magus across the world, not just that are part of the Clock Tower. That announcement was to avoid conflict with the being known as 'Elementor' at all costs."

"That wasn't all," Da Vinci said, looking serious herself. "I've read the files. Apparently, Lord Brishisan straight up says that humanity, at their current level of evolution, simply cannot match Elementor in strength."

"Hmm, so Zack got even stronger," Drasil mumbled as she rubbed her chin.

"Oh, come on, Meistari," Svend groaned while kicking the ground. "I already couldn't touch you before, and now you got stronger? I'll never catch up to you now."

"I don't think there's a reason to fear Great Zack," Zaraka said.

"Lord Brishisan's warning was not because he's afraid of Elementor, or Zack as you call him, it was because he didn't want to make an enemy out of him," Roman crossed his arm.

"According to the announcement, Zack is actually helpful to humans as long as they don't antagonise him personally or cross a line when it comes to the way they handle the world. So, he wants to avoid having him turn on humans. But seriously, for him to be all those figures all this time without us realising," Roman looked down. "He must have been a god amongst Elementals."

"Please don't call him that," Zaraka's expression soured. "Great Zack always hated being referred to as a god."

"This does raise a concern though," Da Vinci said looking a bit troubled. "Medusa and Scathach are also connected to Zack and they said they feel drawn to this singularity. Now, we encounter servants all of which are connected to Zack as well."

"What are you saying, Da Vinci?" Mash asked. "I'm not sure of this since I don't know Zack myself, but... is it possible that he's the cause of this singularity?"

"No," Drasil stated firmly without hesitation. "Let me be very clear, Zack is not in this singularity nor is he connected to the cause. Not only that, but knowing him, he would deem singularities 'more trouble than they're worth, as he would say."

"Yes, Zack wasn't one for unnecessary work," Medusa added her own view. "In fact, if he was ever going to mess with time, he would have went with something far bigger than a singularity."

"I don't know if this is relieving or concerning," Roman sighed.

"Besides, not everyone who is connected to Zack is here, "Scathach suddenly said before turning to Drasil.

"You can see this entire singularity, yes? Do you see any Easter swordsman?" Drasil raised an eyebrow before shaking her head. "No, there's no such thing in this singularity, why do you ask?"

"The other student," Scathach's statement simply caused further confusion. "Zack told me he had two students. One that wields a shield," she motioned to Svend. "And another is a swordsman being from the East."

"Wait, Meistari had another student?" Svend asked.

"He doesn't talk about them beyond how he had one. He never even told me their name," Scathach explained.

Svend sighed. "I would have loved to meet them. Oh well."

"Back to solving this singularity," Dr. Roman cut off the conversation, "So, does anyone have any idea on how to find the cause?"

"I... might have something?" Zaraka said, gaining their attention. "We know they first came from the mountain, we can easily track them from there."

"How?" Medusa asked.

Zaraka held his spear forward with a smile. "My Noble Phantasm allows me to track anything I recognise as 'prey'. It doesn't matter if they left visible tracks or not. I can always track them."

"Why didn't you use such an ability before?" Medusa asked.

"Well, I couldn't take the ghouls all on my own, so it wouldn't have mattered if I did," Zaraka explained. "Ha! Well said!" Svend slapped his hand on Zaraka's

back, almost knocking him over. "Meistari always said there was difference between bravery and stupidity. I'm sure he would have approved."

"You really think Great Zack would have been pleased?" Zaraka asked bashfully while scratching the back of his head. "What about the village?" Ritsuka asked. "Are we going to leave it undefended?"

"Oh, don't worry about that," it was Drasil who answered.

Raising her staff, everyone looked as Drasil tapped her staff on the ground. To everyone's surprise, Runes surrounded the village on the ground and on the air, creating a barrier around it.

"That should keep the village safe," Drasil said.

Scathach wad looking around with wide eyes. "You... created a Rune field just like that?" She turned suspicious eyes towards the little girl. "Who are you?"

"Guess the fact you haven't figured out yet just shows that you're the child here," Drasil replied while smugly turning her nose upwards.
