Hades stood in front of me with his eyes wide and his jaw on the floor as the roses around us kept letting sparks into the air.
"How... how did you do this? I've failed for centuries to grow anything. How did you grow this entire field!?" Hades asked as he looked around.
"Honestly, it wasn't easy, but I am this planet's Archtype, and I won't be bested by something like this," I boasted while crossing my arms.
Okay, maybe Gil rubbed off on me.
Anyway, it really wasn't easy and it took me two days to do this. I realised that what's been killing the flowers was the aura of death in the Underworld, and the reason that the Feeder's Seed took longer was because it was sucking in that aura.
But, they died because they stored it.
When I realised that, it was only a matter of creating a Feeder's Seed that releases energy passively instead of storing it. Which is what these flowers do. They absorb the aura of the Underworld and release it as harmless magical energy into the air.
Which is what those sparks were.
"Well, I fulfilled my end, now for you to fulfill yours," I said firmly.
Hades stared at the flowers for a few more moments before nodding. "Yes... I suppose it is only fair. We had a deal, after all. I will be transporting the Shapeless Isles with you and the Gorgon sisters to the Reverse Side right under my domain. Even after Athena is revived, she wouldn't be able to reach you."
"Uh... yeah, you see, about the part that I'm with the Gorgon sisters."
You really have to appreciate what you have, because no matter what happens, you WILL have to say goodbye eventually.
I flew up the portal that Hades opened towards the Shapeless Isles. It still amazes me how the world and Underworld are basically upstairs and downstairs. That's the age of gods for ya.
When I came out, the sun was already high in the air. I guess it was noon or something amongst those lines. I just kept flying until I reached the house and I thankfully found nothing out of place.
Medusa was outside, picking fruits from the tree near the house. It didn't take long for her to see me when I landed and changed to my wood element. "Zack, you've returned!"
Medusa actually dropped what she was holding and ran towards me. "Whoa! Easy!" I said as she hugged me. I was bigger than her even now that she's an adult, so she just wrapped her arms around my chest and placed her head where the mark of Archtype Earth was. "I'm made of wood!"
None of my elements were exactly huggable. Even water and air would have ended with her on the ground. Medusa pulled her head back and looked at me. "It's alright. It doesn't hurt," that would have been way more believable if her face didn't have a couple of splinters. "So, what happened?"
I sighed as I prepared to deliver the news. "We need to talk."
