Chapter 76 - Annoying [2]

Third POV:

The stone giant version of Zack raised his foot and tried to step on the two gods, both of which swiftly moved out of the way of the attack.

Poseidon waved his spun his trident and pointed it at Zack. The ground behind the god erupted and a pillar of water shot forward at great speed and struck the Elemental's midsection, creating a large hole there. The hole, however, was soon refilled as the fallen and broken stone flew back into place.

"Why are you here, Poseidon?" Zack questioned, glaring at the God with pure white eyes.

"I was certainly bound to follow a giant storm flowing over my oceans. Did you really think I wouldn't notice?" Poseidon asked, holding his trident to point at the giant Elemental.

"Why are you helping Athena?" Zack asked, seeing the goddess try to escape but he shot a giant boulder from his arm and blocked the exist she was trying to reach.

"Helping her? I just want the pleasure of finishing her off myself. As for Why I'm fighting you... well, you remind too much of the Titans for my liking," Poseidon explained.

(Great. He's just taking out his daddy issues on me,) Zack thought with a tired glare. If it had been any other god, Zack wouldn't have believed they were that petty, but he didn't doubt that Poseidon was. "You should have minded your own business."

"Humph, it seems you do not know who you speak to. I am Poseidon! God of-" Poseidon's speech was interrupted by Zack's giant foot kicking him. The god of the sea was sent crashing out of the stadium and flying out of the area.

"With that out of the way," Zack turned back to Athena who weakly picked up her spear with her remaining arm, despite her wound.

However, he was interrupted by the sound of rushing water. Looking at where he kicked Poseidon, his eyes widen at seeing a giant wave of water coming towards them.

Zack's eyes darted to the collection of houses, making a small town, that were outside of the stadium ground, and realised neither the houses nor who occupies them can survive a wave that large.

"Dammit!" He cried out his jumped over the stadium wall - his giant size causing a small quake - and walked close to small town.

With great speed, Zack raised a wall of stone over the village, protecting it from the water. However, the water rushed over the wall and headed straight towards Zack rather than the village.

The giant wave struck the giant Elemental sending him on his back. The water began collecting and forming a giant version of Poseidon as Zack stood back up. But, rather than even look at the God, Zack turned to the small town and created another wall around it, making sure its safe.

"You face a god yet you prioritise protecting humans?" Poseidon's voice echoed from the water giant as it held a large version of his trident. "I feel insulted."

"You really are an idiot if you feel insulted by that," Zack mumbled, standing up again. He then noticed Athena leaving the stadium and attempting to escape. "Not happening!" Zack yelled as he waved his hand and several pillars of stone surrounded the wounded goddess. Turning his arm into Divine Metal, he sent several chains that bound the goddess to the pillars.

The God of Sea took the opportunity to strike Zack with his trident. The attack caused Zack's shoulder to break and one of his arms to fall to thr ground. However, Zack simply shrugged off the damage and stood facing the god. The broken parts immediately flew back in place and Zack's giant form was complete again.

Zack used the arm he had turned to Divine Metal to create a blade and he stabbed it forward. But, the blade simply passed through the water giant's body. (Dammit! That's super annoying when it happens to me.)

Poseidon's trident struck Zack's chest, sending him back several steps, but he quickly regained his balance and turned both his arms into clouds. Throwing his hands forward, he shot bolts of lightning that struck the water giant and caused it to stagger backwards.

"This is... nothing... compared to Zeus!" Poseidon roared in rage as he stood up straight again despite the electricity running through the water giant's body.

"Like I care what your brother can do!" Zack yelled back as he dodged a downward strike from the giant trident. The trident struck the ground and Zack threw a lightning covered fist at Poseidon's head, sending him away from him.

Unknown to Zack, the cracks on the ground caused by the battle were starting to let water on the island.

Poseidon recovered and swung his trident upwards, cutting through the giant Elemental's stone chest. However, that proved futile as the cut soon recovered as the stone flew back into place.

The god groaned in annoyance and had to dodge as another lightning attack. Swinging his trident again, the god managed to cut off one of Zack's arms, but just like before, the broken pieces flew back in place.

"Aren't you getting tired of doing nothing?" Zack asked sarcastically as he struck Poseidon with another lightning covered fist.

The god staggered back but managed to correct himself. "You'll realise that you're already in my grasp!"

Zack was confused for a moment before realising that the whole ground was covered in enough water to reach his giant form's knees. With a wave of his trident, several large serpents made from water rose and surrounded the Elemental.

The serpents swiftly coiled around Zack and held him in place. That gave Poseidon a chance to stab his trident through the Elemental's midsection, causing the weapon to break through the back.

"Zeus may have been the one to finish off Cronus," Poseidon's giant form got closer and glared at the white eyes of the Elemental. "But I suppose killing you would be enough to make up for that lost pleasure!"

Zack glared back at the God as he struggled against the serpents holding him in place. However, he couldn't make them budge. The water serpents were-

(Wait... water?) Zack seemed to come a realisation. (Why the hell am I losing? I can become and control water!) He then recalled something Gilgamesh had told him.

"You are a fool because you UNDERESTIMATE your power. You don't need magical energy. You don't need to try. You WILL the elements to your command." (I AM the elements!) Zack glared harder at Poseidon. (And I WON'T lose to something that is a part of mel) At that moment

*lub-dub*

-Zack felt the whole world beat.

Suddenly, all the water in the ground, serpents, and the giant version of Poseidon transformed to stone, similar to how Zack changes his element.

Breaking from the now stone serpents, Zack ignited his fist and sent a blazing fist towards the other stone giant directly where the heart should be.

The stone giant exploded. Fire and stone flew everywhere as Poseidon's true body was sent flying away. Just as quickly as before, all the stone in the area returned to water.

Poseidon fell into the water. Inside the Ocean, his power was restored and he burst from the water, covered in burns and wounds.

"I don't know what... or how you did that, but you were mistaken to undo it. My power is at it's strongest in the water," the god stated with a glare. "I know," Poseidon noticed that the voice did not come from the giant. It was then that he realised that the giant's eyes were no longer glowing. The god then felt something stab him in the back. "And that's exactly what I want," Poseidon looked over his shoulder and saw Zack holding a spear that appeared to be made from a seed.

Meanwhile, Athena was struggling against the chains and the pillars that were holding her in place. She did not want her life to be ended by either the Elemental or the spiteful god.

Her attention was draw when the ground shook and a giant tree quickly grew where the battle was taking place. At the very top of the tree was a branch glowing in collection of rainbow-like colors.

"ATHENA!" The goddess jumped as she saw the Elemental float near the branch and glare at her. "This time, I WILL end you!"

"You... WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?! I CAN OFFER YOU ANYTHING! ARE YOU READY TO MAKE AN ENEMY OF THE GODS FOR THAT... THAT WHORE!?"

"SHUT UPI" Zack's voice echoed through the whole island. "YOU FORGET THAT YOU AND YOUR KIN DIDN'T COME FROM THIS WORLD! IT WAS ONLY THROUGH THE KINDNESS OF THE WORLD THAT YOU WERE ACCEPTED AS GODS! SO, WHEN I, A SPIRIT OF THE WORLD, TELLS YOU SOMETHING, YOU LISTEN!"

Ripping the glowing branch off the tree, Zack reeled it back, and threw it as hard as he could at the bound goddess. The branch came at great speed and crashed directly on the goddess' body. The last thing Athena saw was the world turn white.

First POV: Zack

Watching as the explosion started vanishing, I gave a quick look at where the small town was and was happy to see that my walls held on.

Poseidon, sadly enough, isn't dead. Just drained. He probably would have been drained enough to die if he wasn't so close to water. Well, whatever. My feud wasn't with him anyway.

"Now, time to get back to the Shapeless Isles... and listen to Stheno lecture my ears off," I groaned as I flew away.

Wonder how all this will bite me in the ass. I know it will.
