Nasiah carried Jossel, his elite guard and all of the soldiers that did not escape onto the carriages that he placed quite a distance away from the valley to ensure that they were not damaged from the battle.
He loaded them all up and used the horses, who he also spared, as the carriers to help ride them back to the base.
It was not a long journey at all. Nasiah managed to return in the afternoon. He was greeted with a massive parade that lined the streets, several soldiers throwing flowers and hailing him with praises.
Forenus planned for this, of course, he and Myrym, actually. He had a stirring feeling that Nasiah would win and, therefore, prepared a festival to help greet him.
Myrym herself always had faith in her child. What she needed to work on right now was a way to get as many of the prisoners out, as well as get Jaguar and Jossel on their side when they leave.
Nasiah waved around with a smile, greeting each and every person he knew as he led the carriages towards the inner base, parking them alongside the holding cells as he hopped off and carried each soldier to a proper unit until they were all safely transferred.
He was increasingly satisfied and happy with today's results, so when he took off his armor and disguise, he went with the crowd and celebrated with them.
The young white-haired king reenacted his fight with Jossel and his army, making sure to give respect to his fallen enemy while he showcased what they did.
The servants of Myrym served refreshments, ensuring that all the soldiers were well-fed and nourished.
This grand party lasted even until nightfall when plenty had their fill of food and drink. Nasiah continued to entertain the soldiers until his Forenus appeared and took a stand from one of the rooftops.
He raised his hand, and the whole base went quiet. "Today is a good day. For with the help of one of our most esteemed allies, we have captured a knight of that so-called glorious empire!"
The crowd cheered with his words while Myrym kept still. She masked her emotions to ensure she did not stand out.
"Soon, as I promised, Nahar will be freed, and we shall all go back to our families, our homes, to our pastures and rivers."
They cheered again, following each and every word.
"We don't just have our newest ally to thank, but each and every one of you played an important part in the ongoing campaign to finally get rid of House Yuseff from our lands and reinstate our deserved glory!"
He raised his hand as the men all cheered again.
"And so we celebrate, but we must be vigilant, for our enemy is still out there, highly weakened, so you know what we must do?"
All the soldiers raised their fists into the air. "Strike once more, twice as hard!"
Forenus just smiled and bowed his head. "Celebrate and prepare yourselves; that shall be all."
He walked down the stairs as Nasiah smiled in awe. The boy saw firsthand how it looked to sway the people who believed in you truly. How to have them trust and fight for you. He would need to emulate that soon-to-be true king.
Forcas followed her master, having returned from her time in the other bases. She had a grin on her face as she quickly snatched Nasiah off the ground and spun him around.
"Haha! You did it, little man! Soon, we will have them all running with their tails tucked between their legs!"
Nasiah raised his arms in adorable joy, laughing in his happy little moment as he gave her a grin. "Yey, I can't wait for that. How much more is left of their forces?"
Forcas placed the boy on his back, giving him a piggyback ride. "There are just a few more forces around, but once word spreads of the knight's defeat, they'll be scattering around."
Forenus stared out into the distance, right at the horizon. "We will be heading out to the other outposts with the men and begin the reclamation of our land."
He turned to Nasiah. "And we shall be the symbols to represent our return. A better world awaits."
The Great Marquis could feel it now. He was finally close to ending this standoff between his forces and House Yuseff. The only thing he would have to worry about is what would come after…
This retaking would only give them an ample moment to breathe.
The reason why he didn't bring himself out was so that he could avoid them sending anyone that could have been on his level, or if they called upon Queen Verichiel's forces for aid, they would have summoned somebody far above him in power that his forces would have been decimated.
The only thing that would have prevented that would have been the Duchess Astorath herself. Thanks to her and the many alliances she has helped create, she would have reigned her own power back, but that would simply escalate matters. It was best to keep things on the low end for now, to use unconventional methods.
The boy faced Forenus with a smile on his face. "Then we shall be the ones to Shepard it!"
His eyes sparkled at the declaration as he raised his arms into the air. "So what do I do now?"
Forenus gave a light chuckle at that response. "You can do what you want; your job is nearly done."
The young boy looked at Forcas and Forenus with a widening grin. "Then let's have some fun together. You can help teach me how to be more king-like! I like your speech thing. Can you show me how to do it, please?"
The she-wolf turned to Forenus, giving up a shrug to show her desire for him to learn.
The Great Marquis waved his hand. "Then so be it; it's all about composure, promise, and commanding awe and respect. Come, I shall show you more."
With that, he walked back to his quarters, with both his knight and Nasiah, as he taught the boy how to speak like a king.
