Chapter 22 - Serena Snape: Love of Magic - chapter 22

I stared in disbelief at the result, the cloak had refused all clothing options, the only thing he found acceptable was a sports bra, extremely short shorts and leather boots, at least he accepted the ones that reached mid-thigh but I might as well still be in my underwear.

I could feel the happiness of the cloak overflow as it rested on my shoulders with my new outfit, I sighed, I guess this is my way of dressing now, this was ridiculous, even my Baiser suit covered more than this and that was saying a lot.

"Alright, I hope you're worth it, let's see what you can do silly cloak." I sighed tiredly, the cloak trembled happily "first, a name, I can't call you cloak all the time." I hummed considering it "...are you a female cloak or a male cloak?" I felt stupid asking, the cloak tilted its hood in confusion, I shrugged, is it a female "mmmm any name related to death? Hela, Plague, Amara?" Or some character with invisibility like Violet Parr or Susan Storm? Do you like any of them? " the cloak shook her head loudly, I sighed "maybe another angle… something silver? It's your colour" I stroked the silky cloak "how about Arianell, it means silver in Welsh, Aria for short" the cloak paused momentarily before squeezing me tightly as I trembled in happiness.

"I see you like me, nice to meet you Arianell." I smiled lightly "Now, can you transform into anything? " Arianell seemed eager, I hummed lightly as I considered it and pulled out my phone and quickly searched for a picture.

"So… how about this. Can you do it? " I asked with a smile, Aria stared at the phone for a few seconds before changing form, my smile growing wider as I looked at the result. I'm not ashamed to admit that I squealed loudly in happiness.

A Mistcloak, it was simply a dream come true, I quickly walked over to the mirror and inspected myself properly, it had two sections, it seemed to have a top layer that ended at shoulder height and a bottom layer that reached down to the crease of my elbow, after that, out of both of them came an obscene amount of strips of fabric that floated around me completely covering my figure.

Upon closer inspection, it was clearly all held together in one piece despite its appearance, even the straps were attached, on the original they should be able to come loose with a single tug to avoid being caught unexpectedly during a fight, a minor thing that I didn't really care about at the moment.

I tried to walk to see if the strips stayed in place, yes, they did, I had to start making sudden movements so that my boots would be noticed when they broke the strips of fabric as they passed, Arianell was doing everything she could to keep me hidden under her.

I also started moving my hands around and making sudden movements to test my range of motion, which was a lot, I was barely restricted at all, the straps flowed around my arms and legs and it was extremely difficult to get them to get tangled by mistake, so even quickly drawing my wand in any direction didn't cause any problems.

I ran and jumped in front of the mirrors trying to test Aria's limits, she was really doing an excellent job of trying to cover me, time to up the ante.

" Trans-magia!" I had recovered enough to transform into my Magia Baiser form, Aria paused momentarily before using her strips of cloth to try and pull my clothes off once more "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got you! " I groaned in frustration as I pulled my Magia Baiser clothes back on and went back to transmuting my previous clothes, I hated it when my clothes disappeared when I transformed, just because I would forget about them, once back into my clothes that left little to the imagination and with Aria on my body once more, I began to fly, even as I did acrobatics in the air the cloth covered me with ease, unfortunately it didn't cover my wings, they stuck out too much from my body, and that was my base form, my overexcited form was much larger, I would have to enter La Verità if I wanted to lose my wings and be able to continue flying, I have to keep trying to reduce the consumption. I lowered myself to the ground and reduced my transformation to its diminished form to hide my wings.

"You couldn't make me fly, right?" Dr. Strange's cloak came to mind, unfortunately, I quickly realized that it wasn't possible when Arianell lifted me off the ground, I wasn't flying, she simply grabbed me with her ribbons and lifted me like a sack of potatoes, too bad, at least I knew she was strong enough to lift a body without much trouble "To the ground." I let myself fall once again, the last thing left, I threw a coin on the ground while swallowing steel to push it and start floating on top of it, now we are talking.

Arianell seemed to flow as if it were mist in the air, the strips dispersed from my body expanding their span in the air and at the same time, they covered me completely hiding my figure, which made it even more attractive to the eye.

"Invisibility?" Aria immediately complied and my head was the only thing floating now "When I ask you to become invisible, cover my body completely and prevent any part of my body from being visible to anyone else, return to your previous form when you become visible once again." She immediately complied creating a hood and wrapping it around my head, perfect, I repeated the movements and this time it was easier to notice when my restless limbs broke through the strips becoming visible.

"Mmm, when I hit you twice like that-" I hit Aria twice quickly and lightly "-you either turn invisible or you become visible." I hit Aria two more times and she became visible, making sure to remove her hood, I hit her two more times and she became invisible covering me once again.

"Okay, perfect." I smiled widely, Aria might be a pain to deal with, but it seemed like it was worth it. "How tough are you?" "Can you regenerate? " I asked, Aria didn't know the answer to her "Okay, just stay over there for a few minutes." I could feel her reluctance, I sighed "It'll just be for a little while, then you can cover me again." Aria moved quickly, I took out my wand, pointed it at Aria and cast a stinging curse, Aria simply slapped the curse away with one of her strips, I blinked in surprise, okay, that was amazing.

"Extend one of your strips." Aria did as I asked and I aimed at the bottom of Aria's separated strip "Diffindo." Aria stood still as my incantation hit the strip with no effect, only pushing it back slightly, time to bring up the handsome "Sectumsempra." I directed a small cut at the strip again, Aria once again ignoring it.

"Amazing." I smiled slightly, I didn't know if it was the basic resistance of the death cloak or not, I knew it was resistant to spells and curses, but I didn't know to what extent, or, it was thanks to the power my Schiavo gave it, still, I wouldn't complain.

snap  The sudden fire pushed at Aria's strip, but they refused to adhere to it, excellent, I wouldn't have to worry about her in a fight, now to find the limit.

"La Verità" I had already recovered enough to enter La Verità for a few minutes, enough to cast a few spells and grabbed my Frusta when I saw Aria heading towards me and… passing me by, I looked over my shoulder and opened my eyes when I saw her start to struggle (futilely) against my cape? I sighed tiredly.

"Aria, please leave my cape." I said frustratedly, Aria ignored me as she reverted to her normal cloak form, it expanded and completely enveloped my cape, I flinched as I felt some of my magic being… consumed? My eyes widened as Aria literally ate my La Verità cape before transforming into an identical copy of it. "Really? " I asked dryly. Aria shivered happily, I sighed once more.

I detransformed and quickly returned to La Verità only to see that my cape did not reappear, I grimaced but it seemed that Aria was more than capable of handling being my cape when transformed, it was even able to extend as far as my Baldaquin Arachne , hovered over me and spread out completely, enclosing me in a dome, best of all, she became completely invisible to me and everything that was inside, it was incredible.

"What else can you eat?" Aria looked confused, I sighed, opening another moment to figure it out "Just... go back to your other form, I still have things to try." Aria listened to me and returned to her mistcloak form and stretched one of her straps.

"Menace Varuna!"

The slash of dark magic came out of my staff and hit her strip, I was finally able to do some damage to it, it had a few tears and burns on its fabric, Aria didn't even flinch, she just stood there as I felt something drain a small portion of my magic. My eyes widened as I saw Aria's strip begin to regenerate.

"You can regenerate?!" It was a pleasant surprise, Aria puffed out her non-existent chest haughtily, it was perfect, as long as I had magic I wouldn't have to worry about Aria being torn apart, in the end, using Schiavo on the death cloak ended in a very good result, I smiled happily.

"Okay Aria, some rules for you to be my favorite piece of clothing." Aria shivered in happiness.

When I finally emerged from the room of requirement, about an hour had passed since I had left the principal's office, dangerously close to curfew.

Aria had become my school uniform since I didn't exactly have a spare in the room, I had also made sure to set some rules for Aria, the most important one being to behave in normal clothes, that included not moving or turning invisible while other people were present unless I told her to, I could only hope she could follow through.

I still didn't know how Aria's personality had come about, I knew that Schiavo could generate intelligent life like Roboko , but that was only if there was more magic and the power of friendship and feelings thrown into the mix, I felt nothing for the cloak of invisibility, only appreciation and interest, so it must have been either from simply being part of death, if it was real, or from her long history with the Peverells and then the Potters.

I shuddered at that last one , did that mean Aria was a Potter? That sent more chills down my spine, I just hope she doesn't have any attachment to Potter, that would be horrible.

After a short walk, I finally arrived at the common room, once inside, I almost absentmindedly saw Narcissa and Lucius sitting, both of whom immediately stood up when they saw me.

"Serena" Narcissa sighed in relief, I smiled.

"It seems that everything went according to plan?" Lucius asked softly, I could see the relief in his expressions, I nodded happily.

"Everything's perfect!" I purred happily.

"And? What did you demand of him?!" Narcissa asked anxiously looking at me expectantly, I paused for a few seconds considering whether or not to tell them, I looked around and noticed that there were few people in the common room considering the time, the meeting had been after dinner and had taken a while, adding to the time I spent in the Room of Requirement and the way back, it was normal that most of them were already in their rooms, even so I couldn't help but be cautious, I took both of them by the wrists and dragged them to a corner of the common room "Serena?!"

"Muffliato." I quickly wrapped us up and looked at the pair who were staring at me questioningly so I began to tell them everything that had happened, how I had gotten to the principal's office, who was inside and the entire argument that had followed, the pair went from disbelief to anger quickly the more I talked before turning into disbelief once again.

" I don't want to say anything Serena, but all for a cloak? " Lucius looked at me like I was crazy, I rolled my eyes when I felt Aria flinch in anger, I hit her gently to reassure her.

" It's not just a cloak, it's an heirloom that was passed down through generations, it belonged to Iolanthe Potter nee Peverell, descendant of Ignotus Peverell." The pair frowned at me.

" As important as the Peverells were, what's so special about the cloak? Other than that it lasts much longer than allowed." Narcissa snorted.

"The Peverells, specifically the brothers Antioch, Cadmus and Ignotus, are the subjects of the tale of the three brothers, they were the first possessors of the Deathly Hallows." that stopped the pair stiffly before they looked at me in disbelief.

"Are you saying... that the Deathly Hallows exist?!" Lucius hissed in disbelief.

"Oh yes, they exist, the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone and-" I pointed to myself "-the Cloak of Invisibility."

"You have the Death Cloak!?" Narcissa shrieked before gasping and paling. "You stole the Death Cloak from the Potters?!"

"I didn't steal it." I rolled my eyes. "It was a trade that was completely agreed upon by both parties."

"Are you crazy?!" Lucius hissed. " You know the stories, bloody stories, you're in danger, Serena! "

"No, I'm not." I said firmly and the pair looked at me like I was crazy. "I'm really not. No one knew the cloak was with the Potters for generations and no one knows about our exchange so it's unlikely that I'm linked to the cloak in any way." That seemed to calm the pair down slightly. "And the only reason I told you is because you're my friends and you helped make getting it possible for me, I trust you."

"It was no problem Serena." Lucius smiled slightly before squirming with an unsure look "About the other reli-"

"No," I interrupted firmly. I grabbed his jaw with my hand and forced him to look me in the eyes. He seemed surprised. "Promise me, Lucius, that you won't look for the relics. You said so yourself. They have a bloody history. You'll die if you dig any further."

"B-but-"

"But nothing." I growled. "Promise me, both of you, after this you will never speak of the hallows, never mention anything, no questions, no inquiries, no probing about the hallows, the words 'deathly hallows' will never come out of your mouths unless it's to deny their existence are we clear? " The pair seemed surprised at my seriousness. "I am being completely serious, the cloak is often the least sought after and I consider it the least important of the three hallows so I am relatively safe, but inquiring about the other hallows, asking questions even when you think they are safe can backfire very badly, to wizards and witches like Voldemort who would happily torture others for any knowledge of them, you cannot fool them, so no Lucius, do not seek them out." The pair paled completely.

"I-I promise." Lucius said and I finally let go of his jaw.

"Me too, I promise," Narcissa added quickly and I let out a sigh of relief, running my hand through my hair.

"I'm sorry for being so abrupt, but I'm concerned for your safety." I said honestly, Narcissa hugged me quickly.

"Don't worry, we understand" Lucius nodded at Narcissa's words and I let out another sigh of relief and smiled slightly.

"Alright, now, let's move on to other topics." I pulled away from Narcissa and threw a finito at my muffliato "Lucius, I want you to release the Wolfbane recipe." Lucius was surprised and was about to chime in before grinning widely.

"Of course Serena, I'll send an owl in the morning."

"Thank you, now if you'll excuse me, I'm completely exhausted, I'm going to go to sleep." I stretched lazily and before they could answer I hugged Lucius and Narcissa quickly "Thank you for everything." I whispered to them and just as quickly I separated and walked out quickly, I only glanced at the pair who seemed surprised standing still in the middle of the common room, I chuckled before heading to the bedrooms, once inside I quickly went into bed and closed the curtains and got ready to sleep, I could hear Narcissa enter the room as I fell completely asleep, I could barely feel Aria change clothes.

The next day I woke up and saw all my school clothes completely destroyed.
