Just a moment ago, Kushida Kikyo had been gloating over Kanda Shuichi's "stupidity," but now she was full of regret. She'd had the chance to take the memory card, too.
But it's not like she knew every feature of a smartphone! It was her first time dealing with one like this at school, and she wasn't a tech geek.
So, her one chance to destroy that evidence had slipped right out of her hands.
Damn it! Damn it all!
"How about this? Want me to show you what's on here? I've got my computer right here, so I can play you the whole clip of you kicking the railing and cursing Horikita."
Seeing Kanda's mischievous grin, Kushida suddenly regained her composure.
"Go ahead, show it."
Kanda's face froze.
"So, the video wasn't actually saved on the memory card, was it? I almost fell for it."
Kushida smirked in victory, her face showing pure confidence.
"I'll show you the evidence now."
However, Kanda Shuichi's expression and voice both carried a hint of nervousness.
"Then show me the evidence."
Kushida Kikyo sat up from the bed, walked over to Kanda Shuichi, and looked down at him from above.
"Don't regret it!"
Kanda Shuichi said in a tone that tried to sound tough, but it was clearly a little shaky.
"Do as you like, I'm just here to watch," Kushida Kikyo urged, wanting to see the video, whether it existed or not.
Kanda Shuichi seemed unable to take any more of Kushida's taunts. He pulled out a card reader, inserted the memory card, and connected it to his computer.
It was clear that the high-quality item he bought with 200,000 points was worth it—everything copied over in an instant.
He selected a specific folder in the memory space and opened a video file using a special player.
"I'm so annoyed! So annoyed! So annoyed!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Why doesn't Horikita just die! That damn woman!"
Not only did Kushida's face twist into a terrifying expression, but her voice was also clearly audible. The moment Kanda Shuichi saw it, Kushida's face turned an interesting shade, but it was what she expected.
If there was a video on that memory card, then she had to get her hands on it!
The only time she would have the best chance was when the memory card left Kanda Shuichi's hands.
Before Kanda Shuichi could react, as soon as the video started playing, Kushida Kikyo swiftly yanked out the card reader, taking the memory card with it.
"How unfortunate, Kanda. Now it's back in my hands. You're such an idiot, Kanda. I didn't expect you to make such a big mistake before you succeeded. But thanks to your carelessness, I now have this critical piece of evidence."
Watching Kanda Shuichi hang his head in silence, Kushida Kikyo laughed triumphantly. She had completely outwitted him, and seeing his frustration made her forget all the anger she had over losing her first kiss.
Hearing Kushida's mocking tone, Kanda Shuichi almost laughed. She was so pathetic that he couldn't help but feel sorry for her.
"Kushida, do you know the school's class placement rules?"
"Why bring this up now?"
Kushida Kikyo took two steps back towards the bed, keeping her distance from Kanda Shuichi in case he tried to snatch the memory card from her hand.
"No, I just thought there's something you should know."
Kanda Shuichi turned his chair to face Kushida.
"When the school classifies students, they base it on academic ability, physical fitness, and social skills. The best students go to Class A, while the weak ones are placed in Class D.
But here's the thing. Whether it's you, Horikita, Hirata, or Koenji, none of you are lacking in ability. You're all among the top in the entire grade, but you ended up in Class D. Doesn't that seem strange to you?"
"What are you trying to say?"
As she listened to Kanda Shuichi, Kushida Kikyo began to feel uneasy.
"No, it's nothing. I just think that people like you, who didn't make it into Class A but ended up in Class D, must have some big flaws.
Take Horikita, for example. She isolates herself, looks down on people who aren't as smart as she is, and has terrible social skills.
Then there's Koenji. That guy is extremely stubborn and arrogant, you can practically see his pride written all over his face.
And then there's you. While your grades and athletic ability are pretty good, and your social skills are probably the best in the first year, I haven't noticed any flaws in you."
At this point, Kanda Shuichi smiled, showing a grin that made it clear his words were about to cut deep.
"So, you think I wouldn't take precautions when I'm alone with you?"
"If you want that memory card, go ahead and take it. But you've had it for so long, and yet my computer is still playing the video of you venting your anger. Don't you find that strange?"
Hearing Kanda's words, Kushida quickly looked over at the computer screen behind him.
Sure enough, the footage of her violently kicking the railing was still playing. It had no sound at the moment, which was why she hadn't heard it.
"So you already made a backup? Everything I did in front of you was like a clown show?" Kushida Kikyo said with an expression of disbelief.
What kind of person is this?
"Kanda… who exactly are you?"
Kushida Kikyo's fingers suddenly felt weak. The card reader with the memory card slipped from her hands and fell to the floor, her voice now slightly trembling.
"Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is that you need to understand, I'm not your enemy," Kanda Shuichi said as he picked up the memory card and casually put it in a drawer.
"Then... can you delete that video?"
"Of course. But after everything you've done to me, how do you plan to make it up to me?"
Make it up?
You think breaking just one phone was too much?
You also took my first kiss!
Damn bastard!
Kushida finally understood. This guy was an even worse villain than she was.
"So, what exactly do you want? Do you want me to be your slave?"
Kushida placed her hands on her chest, putting on a pitiful expression.
Still playing the game, huh?
"Well then, Kushida, if you lift your skirt, everything between us will be forgotten. How about it?"
Kanda Shuichi's words froze Kushida Kikyo's actions. The pitiful expression on her face disappeared without a trace.
"Oh, looks like you were just joking about wanting to be my slave."
Why can't I ever learn my lesson?
This guy is on the bad side!
I got what I deserved!
