The next morning Daniel stirred in his bed, the gentle rustling of leaves outside his window a peaceful reminder of the world he now called home. He blinked away the last remnants of sleep, stretching his arms as he sat up, feeling a calm satisfaction knowing that the construction of the forest entrance, pathway, and library was in good hands. Gurdurr and Timburr had proven to be efficient workers, and with their expertise, Daniel had no doubt the projects would progress smoothly without his constant oversight.
Today, however, he had other plans. In his visit to the town of Nahir the week prior, Daniel had made sure to purchase as many empty scrolls as the local shop had available, using the coins he'd taken from the bandits. He had told the shopkeeper that he would be back eventually for more, leaving the man with a promise and a hefty payment. Now, it was time to begin filling those scrolls with something valuable—knowledge.
In his previous life, Daniel had always been an avid learner and had a love for the arts. He had spent countless hours sketching creatures from imagination, drawing landscapes, and practicing different techniques. That passion hadn't faded, even in this new world. Now, with Pokémon a part of his life, he had a chance to combine his love of art and knowledge to benefit the people of this world.
Slipping out of bed, Daniel moved to the small table near the window after taking a scroll from the rediculously large stack of empty scrolls, piled up in his home. In order to transport them all here had asked Abra to transport them all, which Abra did well but it wasn't exactly completed in the the tidiest manner. Daniel didn't mind though since they'd all be soon moved to the Library.
He carefully spread the first one open, the parchment smooth beneath his fingertips, ready to be transformed into a wealth of information. His plan was simple yet ambitious: create detailed profiles of every first-stage Pokémon, including everything one would need to know about caring for, battling with, and forming a bond with them. Each scroll would have a hand-drawn illustration of the Pokémon at the top, making it easy for the reader to identify them.
"This will help them," Daniel murmured to himself as he sat down at the table. "They'll need guidance if they want to bond with Pokémon. The more they understand, the better those bonds will be."
He grabbed a quill and ink, his mind already whirring with information. The first Pokémon he decided to write about was Caterpie. He remembered the small green bug-type Pokémon from the games in his previous life—simple, harmless, but with the potential to evolve into the majestic Butterfree. Daniel dipped the quill into the inkpot and began writing:
---
Pokémon Name: Caterpie
Type: Bug
Height: 1'00"
Weight: 6.4 lbs
Potential Moves: String Shot, Tackle, Bug Bite, Harden, Sunny Day, (Ect.)
Caterpie is a small, green bug-type Pokémon that can be found in forests and grassy areas. It has a voracious appetite and spends much of its time eating leaves and other plant material to fuel its growth. Despite its small size, Caterpie is remarkably resilient and can defend itself by releasing a foul-smelling substance when threatened. As it grows, Caterpie will eventually evolve into Metapod, the next stage of its life cycle, before becoming the fully-evolved Butterfree.
NOTE: "Potential Moves" indicates all possible moves the aforementioned Pokémon can learn. However, some moves may require a higher evolution or more experienced to be learned.
---
Daniel paused, looking over the description. It was basic but informative, just what someone new to Pokémon might need. He made sure to include its type, attacks, and even its height and weight, knowing these details could be important for trainers in battle or care. Then, with a satisfied nod, he moved to the top of the scroll and began sketching Caterpie from memory.
His hand moved effortlessly, the lines forming the small, round body and big eyes of the Pokémon. He added details like the segmented body and antenna, making sure to capture Caterpie's innocent and approachable look. Once the drawing was complete, Daniel sat back, admiring his work. It felt good to draw again, to create something that would help others in the future.
With the first scroll finished, he moved on to the next, picking another first-stage Pokémon at random: Rattata.
---
Pokémon Name: Rattata
Type: Normal
Height: 1'00"
Weight: 7.7 lbs
Potential Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Focus Energy, Bite, (Ect.)
Rattata is a common Pokémon found in urban and rural areas. It is quick, agile, and constantly alert, making it difficult to catch. It has sharp teeth that grow continuously, so it often gnaws on objects to keep them worn down. Rattata are known to form groups and are particularly good at finding food, making them useful companions in wilderness settings. With proper training, Rattata evolves into Raticate, becoming stronger and more reliable in battle.
NOTE: "Potential Moves" indicates all possible moves the aforementioned Pokémon can learn. However, some moves may require a higher evolution or more experienced to be learned.

Again, Daniel followed the description with a detailed drawing of Rattata, its sharp teeth and sleek, rat-like body coming to life on the parchment. As he worked, Daniel couldn't help but smile. In his previous life, these creatures had only existed in games and cartoons. But here, they were real, and he was creating something that would teach others how to live alongside them.
The hours passed as Daniel continued his project, filling scroll after scroll with descriptions and sketches of first-stage Pokémon. From Pidgey to Weedle, from Geodude to Clefairy, he carefully documented everything he could remember. Each Pokémon had its own unique traits and abilities, and Daniel made sure to include notes on how they behaved, what they ate, and how best to care for them. He included battle strategies where appropriate and even offered advice on how to form bonds with particularly shy or aggressive Pokémon.
The sun climbed higher in the sky, and Daniel worked tirelessly, stopping only briefly to stretch or for a meal. His cabin was quiet, save for the occasional rustle of leaves outside or the soft scratching of his quill on parchment. Abra, who had been resting quietly on a cushion nearby, watching him work with its ever-closed eyes. Daniel smiled at the small psychic-type and gave it a gentle pat on the head before returning to his task.
Every time he completed a scroll, he would give it to Abra who would joyfully take it to the Library for storage. While unfinished, the library had enough of a solid foundation that it was safe to store some scrolls there for now.
By the time the sun began to set again, Daniel had completed a sizable amount of scrolls. He knew he wouldn't be able to finish the entire project in one day, but he was making good progress. His goal was to have enough information on the most common first-stage Pokémon by the time the villagers came to visit. That way, they could learn about the creatures they were likely to encounter in the forest.

As the week went on, Daniel dedicated himself to this project. He spent his mornings and afternoons writing and drawing, filling scroll after scroll with information. In the evenings, he would step outside to check on the progress of the forest entrance and pathway. The Gurdurr and Timburr were working efficiently, and the entrance had already been completed—a beautiful archway of intertwined branches and stone that seemed to welcome visitors into the heart of the forest. The pathway itself was also coming along, a smooth trail that wound through the woods, avoiding areas where the more powerful Pokémon resided.
By the end of the week, Daniel had amassed a large collection of scrolls, each one detailing a different Pokémon. He carefully rolled them up and gave them to Abra, who had grown fond of taking care of them.
The knowledge contained within these scrolls would be invaluable to the villagers and anyone else who wished to learn about Pokémon. It would help them understand the creatures they shared the world with, and perhaps even form bonds that would last a lifetime.
As Daniel placed the final scroll in the crate, he leaned back in his chair, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over him. The library wasn't complete yet, but the foundation had been laid. The villagers would soon have a place to come and learn, to ask questions, and to discover the wonders of Pokémon for themselves.
With a tired but satisfied smile, Daniel glanced over at Abra, who had teleported back, hovering slightly over his shoulder. "We've made a good start, haven't we?" he said softly.
Abra gave a small nod, its eyes still closed, but Daniel could feel the Pokémon's approval through their bond.
He stood up, stretching his arms over his head as the last rays of sunlight filtered through the trees outside. Tomorrow, the villagers would come to the forest, and Daniel would guide them on their first journey through this new world of Pokémon. They would see the creatures up close, perhaps even make connections. And with the knowledge contained in the scrolls, they would be better prepared to live alongside these incredible beings.
As Daniel prepared for the night, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for what tomorrow would bring.
