Chapter 1 - chapter 1: The beginning

" , Cling, cling ,cling" my alarm kept ringing"aarrgh" this stupid alarm , it's so annoying I turned it off all stood up from my bed I said my morning prayers and went to the bathroom and did my business hurriedly and came out , I checked the time 🧭"OMG", the time is 5:30 my step mum would go crazy.

My name is Jessica Gavins, I am 22 years old, my mom died when I was 7yrs old I really can't fathom what happened all I knew was that she died, and my dad married my step mum later on , at first she was nice to me then later to became cruel after having my step sister Emily. enough of the introduction I need to hurry downstairs inside my house chores, my step mum have warned me to start my house choice early enough before 5:00 or she would beat me mercilessly .

🖋️I got downstairs and met my mum sitting on the couch scratch that step mum and as soon as she saw me she threw glares at me, if glares you could kill I would have been dead by now.

"Good morning Mum" I greeted.

"Just shut up" yelled and slapped me.

"Mom I am so so..." I couldn't complete my statement before another slap landed on my face I held my cheek as tears threatened to fall.

"I said don't call me mum and what did I tell you about coming out by 5:00 to do the house chores, now get to work you fool,"she said yelling and spit on me before walking back to her room.

I watched our walk into the room sniffing and I held my cheek and started doing my chores , I finished my house chores by 6:30 and "phew" I am done, I went back into my room to dress for work.

Yeah I do three part-time jobs in a day, I worked in the M&J (Marvin's jemison bakery from 7 to 12:00and the salary my step mum always make sure she collect everything, I carried my bag and dust out of the house, how in the world am I supposed to get to the bakery in 15 minutes, I was in such a hurry that I bumped into a sturdy man.
