It's 2025. The werewolf world has evolved very drastically. The practice of living in the bush and pack houses, to one being banished for their crimes is now a thing of the past.
Those were in ancient times. The world has evolved now. And just like in our own current world, it is money and connections that place one on top of the food chain.
Although the secondary gender still plays a role, but what's the use of having enormous strength if you are still poor, and the new laws seem to protect the weaker genders, unlike in the olden times?
A Brief Background of Story:
"The Alpha" is a term that the people of today's modern-day Ireland give to whoever becomes the main heir and CEO of the McDermott family Empire.
The McDermott was the last imperial monarchy before Ireland became a democratic republican state. So even up to this date, the people of Ireland still see the McDermotts as royals.
The "Alpha" is feared and revered by all, including the presidents of states, both domestic and international, and other dignitaries.
Even anyone who bears the name "McDermott" as well as those affiliated with them, irrespective of how distant their relationship to the McDermotts may be, is highly respected and placed on a pedestal.
For this reason, almost every ambitious person, especially those who want to go into politics or become the president of Ireland, does everything that they can in order to be close to the McDermotts.
And if one is blessed enough to get a face-to-face meeting with the heir or the CEO of the McDermott Empire, who is referred to as the "Alpha," then they and their descendants will never know what poverty or hardship means.
For this reason, becoming the "Alpha" as a McDermott is more coveted than becoming the President of the whole of Ireland.
The taxes paid by the McDermott Group alone cover over 85% of the GDP of the country, and as such, the livelihoods of the ordinary people depend more on the McDermotts than the governments.
And since the "Alpha" is the ultimate authority in charge of every important decision concerning McDermott Group, his decisions directly and indirectly affect the daily lives of most of the citizens as well.
Hence, the people of Ireland are very interested in the affairs of the McDermott family. More interested in whoever becomes the "Alpha," as his decision would determine their fate.
Thus, every male alpha from the McDermott family wishes that they could become the Alpha, except that not everyone is qualified for the position.
No. There is a natural order to how things are done in the McDermott family, and no one dares to challenge that.
