Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Exam of Expulsion

The classroom buzzed with murmurs of apprehension as Miss Matsuba entered. The announcement she was about to make would significantly impact everyone. With a stern expression, she addressed the students.

"Attention, everyone," she began, "there will be an important exam soon. Anyone who scores below 40 will be expelled from this school."

The room fell silent. Class C, the most problematic class with its low points, had never faced such a threat. Anxiety spread among the students, their faces reflecting their fears. In contrast, Sayuri maintained her composure, though she occasionally glanced at Waskuruni, who was calm and collected. He observed the reactions of his peers with a thoughtful expression.

As the class settled into their seats, Sayuri, with a calm yet authoritative demeanor, spoke to her classmates. "We need to prepare well for this exam. I know it's challenging, but we'll get through this together."

After the class ended, students began to discuss their strategies and concerns. Sayuri, using her influence, helped to keep morale high, offering guidance and reassurance to those around her. Meanwhile, Waskuruni remained in the background, listening and observing, but he was clearly formulating his own plans.

Later that day, Sayuri invited Waskuruni to her private room. The room was neatly organized, and a variety of snacks were laid out on a table. As Waskuruni entered, Sayuri greeted him with a warm smile.

"Thank you for coming, Waskuruni," she said. "I wanted to discuss the upcoming exam with you. I know it's going to be tough."

Waskuruni took a seat, and they began discussing strategies. Sayuri tried to subtly gauge Waskuruni's thoughts and opinions while offering him snacks and comfort. Despite her kindness, Waskuruni could sense that she was testing him and trying to gain an advantage.

"I appreciate your concern, Sayuri," Waskuruni said calmly. "But I believe we need a more comprehensive plan to tackle this exam."

As they continued their discussion, the conversation revealed Sayuri's true nature. Although she appeared kind and considerate, her strategic mind was always at work, trying to gain an edge in the competitive environment of the school.

The next day, the atmosphere in the school was tense. Maria Nina, a prominent influencer in Class C, used her charm and influence to help others prepare. Her efforts were noted by everyone, and she became a key figure in ensuring students were ready for the exam.

Later in the week, Sayuri's brother, Nanamu, made his appearance. Nanamu was an influential figure in the school's hierarchy and took an immediate interest in Waskuruni. He saw Waskuruni as someone who could potentially become a mastermind. However, Nanamu was also protective of Sayuri and didn't approve of her trying to emulate him. He had high standards for her and didn't believe she could reach his level of strategic thinking.

"Sayuri," Nanamu said with a stern tone, "you should focus on developing your own skills rather than trying to mimic me. It's not an easy path, and you need to understand the implications of your actions."

Despite Nanamu's words, Sayuri was determined to prove herself. She continued to work closely with Waskuruni, trying to balance kindness with strategic thinking. Her cold and calculated demeanor became more apparent as she navigated the challenges ahead.

As the exam approached, Waskuruni and Sayuri prepared for the test, each with their own strategies and motivations. The pressure was on, and the stakes were high. The students of Class C had to find a way to excel or face the consequences.
