Chapter 58 - The Dissolution of the Engagement

"Enough is enough."

Facing the relentless onslaught of sharp blades, Dai Mubai was silently complaining in his heart. For the first time among his peers, he had met an opponent even more troublesome than Tang San's Blue Silver Grass. The blades seemed endless; even if he swatted them away like before, they would return under Lan Si's control and continue their attack.

Not to mention, they were incredibly fast and powerful.

If he hadn't unleashed his strongest state, the third soul skill, White Tiger Vajra Transformation—which doubles his resistance to status effects, attack, defense, and strength—he would have already been defeated.

Despite this, his body was covered in wounds. Lan Si hadn't shown any mercy toward Dai Mubai, even while using his first soul skill.

"First Soul Skill: White Tiger Barrier."

"Second Soul Skill: White Tiger Light Wave."

Knowing he couldn't continue like this, Dai Mubai closed in on Lan Si. He ignored the rapid consumption of his soul power. His first soul ring suddenly burst into light, forming a circle of white energy that sent the eight blades flying away.

Then, his second soul ring shone, and an enormous white light coalesced. With a roar, a ball of milky-white light shot out of his mouth.

Dai Mubai's first two soul skills, the White Tiger Barrier and White Tiger Light Wave, showcased their terrifying power when activated simultaneously in his strongest state.

Lan Si murmured softly, "A circle of white light that enhances the self, the 'White Tiger Barrier,' and a milky-white light ball for long-range attacks, the 'White Tiger Light Wave.' A rather interesting set of skills. However—"

While controlling the eight blades with his left hand to continue attacking Dai Mubai, Lan Si raised his right hand. His second soul ring flashed, and multiple green lotuses appeared, overlapping and forming a solid, flaming shield. This shield clashed with Dai Mubai's White Tiger Light Wave in his most powerful state.

Strangely, after breaking through the defense of the first two lotuses, Dai Mubai's White Tiger Light Wave couldn't advance any further. At that moment, the eight blades were already aiming for Dai Mubai's backside.

"My White Tiger Light Wave was blocked? How is this possible..."

With his soul power almost depleted from using so many soul skills, Dai Mubai couldn't believe his most powerful attack was easily blocked by Lan Si.

The next moment, before he could react, he felt a sharp pain in his rear and crashed to the ground.

Unable to hold back, Dai Mubai screamed in pain, "Aaaah!"

He lay on the ground, wailing in agony. Blood stained his lower body, and under the high temperature of the blades, the blood quickly solidified, filling the air with the scent of cooked meat.

Dai Mubai's butt was cooked.

Fully cooked.

Seeing this, the crowd fell into a deathly silence.

"What... what just happened? Boss Dai lost?" Ma Hongjun couldn't help but shout in shock. He exchanged glances with Oscar and quickly stepped forward to shield Dai Mubai, fearing Lan Si would strike again.

"Boss Dai, are you okay? Quickly, eat these two recovery sausages." Oscar crouched beside Dai Mubai, handing him two sausages. He instinctively tried to remove the blades from Dai Mubai's rear but found they were too hot to touch.

Dai Mubai, nearly too weak to speak, used all his strength to swallow the sausages, feeling slightly better afterward.

"Brother, could you remove these blades from Boss Dai's body?" Oscar asked Lan Si, swallowing nervously as he fought back his fear.

"Of course, but Dai Mubai needs to admit defeat first. After all, we had a bet," Lan Si replied calmly, his eyes narrowing as he looked at Dai Mubai. "Dai Mubai, do you admit defeat?"

His voice, like a judgement, echoed in Dai Mubai's ears, making his body stiffen.

Oscar and Ma Hongjun immediately urged in low voices.

"Boss Dai, admit defeat. A wise man knows when to retreat."

"Yes, Boss Dai, admit defeat! Your butt is important."

Hearing their words, Dai Mubai glanced at Oscar and Ma Hongjun, then at Lan Si, and finally at Zhu Zhuqing, who had been watching Lan Si the entire time. Filled with unwillingness, Dai Mubai lowered his proud head and said in a low voice, "I admit defeat."

"Good, now sign this." Lan Si took out a piece of paper and a pen from his soul tool, writing a document to dissolve the engagement. He handed it to Dai Mubai. "Sign your name and leave your handprint."

Reading the document, Dai Mubai nearly spat out blood in anger. "You—"

"What do you mean, 'you'? You've already admitted defeat. Don't think you can continue clinging to Zhuqing with that laughable engagement," Lan Si said coldly.

"Fine, I admit defeat. I'll sign." Dai Mubai suppressed his urge to kill Lan Si, signing the document with deep resentment.

With this, their enmity was settled—one that wouldn't end until one of them was dead. Dai Mubai vowed that once he became the Emperor of the Star Luo Empire, he would make this man before him suffer a fate worse than death.

"That's more like it." Lan Si looked at the engagement dissolution document with satisfaction and handed it to Zhu Zhuqing, smiling. "Zhuqing, this is for you. You can decide what to do with it."

Zhu Zhuqing took it and immediately signed her name, her neat and delicate handwriting standing in stark contrast to the scribbles of Lan Si and Dai Mubai.

Seeing Zhu Zhuqing sign the document without hesitation, Dai Mubai spat out a mouthful of blood, not from the wounds Lan Si inflicted but from sheer rage. He gritted his teeth and said, "I've signed the dissolution document. Now, can you get this damned thing out of my butt?"

"Of course." Lan Si snapped his fingers casually, and the eight blades in Dai Mubai's backside dissipated into green light.

"Oscar, Fatty, let's go." As the blades disappeared, Dai Mubai gasped in pain. With the help of Oscar and Ma Hongjun, he struggled to his feet.

Oscar supported Dai Mubai and called out to Ning Rongrong, "Rongrong, time to go."

"Oh, right." Hearing Oscar, Ning Rongrong snapped back to reality and replied, "You go on ahead. Zhuqing and I will catch up."

Tonight had been a series of shocks for her. First, she witnessed Xiao Wu being beaten to a pulp, then discovered that the culprit was her friend Zhu Zhuqing's boyfriend, and finally learned of the shocking news that Zhu Zhuqing and Dai Mubai had an engagement. It was truly unbelievable.
