Chapter 36 - Xue Beng’s Tragedy

Facing eight spoiled brats, Lan Si sneered. As they summoned their martial spirits, he activated the Sacred Universe Technique up to its fourth level and used the "Blink" skill (PS: This is not true teleportation but extreme speed that appears as teleportation to the naked eye). He vanished in an instant, reappearing in front of the eight, delivering a series of punches directly to their bodies.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

A series of impact sounds echoed as the eight were instantly beaten, knocked to the ground, clutching their chests, abdomens, or nether regions, crying out in agony.

The entire crowd was stunned. The bystanders gasped, as the scene filled with screams and wails that echoed through the air.

Lan Si glanced at the fallen scoundrels, then at Xue Beng, who hadn't run far. His lips curled into a mocking smile. He used the Blink skill again, chasing after Xue Beng in just a few flashes.

Hearing the miserable cries of his companions behind him, Xue Beng was terrified. He dared not look back, wishing he had another pair of legs to run faster. All he needed was to find a teacher from the academy, and Lan Si wouldn't dare to do anything to him. Then, he could call upon his uncle, Prince Xue Xing, to avenge him.

Just then, a voice full of judgment echoed in his ears, "Prince Xue Beng, where do you think you're going?"

Xue Beng's body stiffened. The next moment, he felt a hand on his left shoulder, holding him firmly, making it impossible for him to move. He struggled to turn his head, swallowing nervously. "What do you want? I am the fourth prince of the Heaven Dou Empire."

"Not much. I just want to loosen up your muscles a bit. Your Highness, have you ever heard of a move called the Aerial Throw? It involves throwing you into the air, grabbing your body, and with your head facing down, spinning rapidly towards the ground. Right before you hit the ground, I'll release you, allowing your head to make intimate contact with the ground at an extremely high speed."

Lan Si squinted his eyes, describing this move from his past life, an attack from an anime he had watched in his previous life. He didn't lower his voice deliberately, and since the surrounding audience were all soul masters with sharp hearing, they all heard him clearly.

When they heard Lan Si mention the Lotus Bloom, everyone couldn't help but widen their eyes, sighing inwardly. "Wow, this guy is ruthless! If Xue Beng takes this hit, can he even survive? Would he really dare to kill a prince of the Heaven Dou Empire?"

"You dare?" Xue Beng's eyes were hollow, filled with fear. Before he could finish his words, Lan Si grabbed his shoulder, throwing him into the air. Then, with an inverted kick, he sent Xue Beng flying into the sky. "Watch closely!"

In the air, Xue Beng felt dizzy, his peripheral vision catching sight of Lan Si still standing on the ground, staring at him. His scalp tingled. "A demon. This guy is definitely a demon."

Lan Si stepped back with his left foot, slightly bending his right knee, placing his palms on the ground. With a blink, he disappeared again, reappearing behind Xue Beng, his body flying parallel to him.

At that moment, a deep voice suddenly rang out, "Stop!" From a hillside path, a figure swiftly approached, clad in a silver outfit. He looked about fifty, with a face like a silver plate, bushy eyebrows, and big eyes, his hands clasped behind his back, exuding an air of expertise.

Lan Si's lips curled slightly. "So, you've finally decided to intervene after watching the show for so long?"

Without being told, Lan Si had already guessed the man's identity—Sun Buyu, a tutor at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy.

Since advancing to Soul Elder and acquiring the Soul Bone of the Soul-Devouring Eight-Spider Lance, Lan Si had become particularly sensitive to soul power fluctuations. He had already detected that, aside from a few strong Soul Elders in the crowd, Sun Buyu had been hiding in the shadows, watching the conflict unfold.

Sun Buyu had not intervened when the conflict began. It had been nearly a month since Lan Si had separated from Qian Renxue, and it was clear that he had received a report from her, disguised as Xue Qinghe. He must have been testing Lan Si's strength.

However, things had spiralled out of control, and if he didn't step in now, Xue Beng could actually lose his life.

Lan Si kicked Xue Beng away, using the momentum to flip backward in mid-air, landing gracefully. Xue Beng, however, fell face-first into the ground, looking like he had bitten the dust. Nevertheless, his life was spared. He lay on the ground like a dead pig, filled with fear.

Sun Buyu glanced at Xue Beng, whose face was ashen. Confirming that he had only suffered superficial injuries, he walked straight toward Lan Si. "You must be Lan Si, correct? I am Sun Buyu, a Purple Gold Tutor at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy. The Crown Prince has instructed that if you arrive, you are to be enrolled immediately. Come with me; I'll take you to meet the three Board of Trustees members."

"Thank you, Teacher Sun." Lan Si nodded with a smile.

At this moment, the scoundrels on the ground struggled to their feet. Gasping for breath, they helped Xue Beng up, shouting in anger, "Teacher Sun, this madman broke into the Heaven Dou Academy and beat up our Prince Xue Beng like this. He can't just walk away!"

"Hmm?" Sun Buyu's expression hardened, his eyes glaring at the one who had spoken. That person immediately fell silent. Sun Buyu, being a Purple Gold Tutor at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy, held a high status. Even Xue Beng had to be respectful to him because he had the support of not just the three Soul Douluo Trustees but also the Crown Prince Xue Qinghe.

He said coldly, "Didn't I make myself clear just now? Lan Si was arranged to enter the academy by the Crown Prince. Not to mention that you started this whole mess and still got beaten up by a new student. Aren't you ashamed? Now, get out of my sight."

With that, Sun Buyu led Lan Si toward the academy's Board of Trustees.

As Sun Buyu and Lan Si's figures disappeared, a henchman beside Xue Beng cautiously asked, "Your Highness, what should we do? That guy is the Crown Prince's man."

"Hmph! So what if he's my brother's man? How dare he assault a prince of a nation? Come on, let's go find my father and bring my uncle along." Xue Beng snorted coldly. To him, swallowing his pride was not in line with his spoiled nature, and he couldn't let this go. Never in his life, not even when facing his unfathomable elder brother, had he felt so close to death.

On the other side, Lan Si followed Sun Buyu, walking leisurely along the tree-lined path.

Sun Buyu slowed his pace, walking side by side with Lan Si, casually asking, "If I hadn't intervened just now, would you have really killed Xue Beng?"

Lan Si chuckled, "Teacher Sun, you must be joking. I was just scaring him. Although Xue Beng is a spoiled brat, he's still a prince of the Heaven Dou Empire. Disputes between classmates are one thing, but killing him would leave me with no place to stay in the entire Heaven Dou Empire."
