The night was thick with darkness, and the cold air bit at his face as he ran, his breaths coming in ragged gasps. Each step was hurried but uneven, his heart pounding violently in his chest as if it might explode.
There was no time to think. Everything had shattered in an instant. The echoes of their screams still reverberated in his ears. He didn't know what he had done, but the blood staining his hands spoke volumes.
One thing was certain: he could never return. The forest closed in around him, its shadows swallowing him whole. As he sprinted through the darkness, the only thought in his mind was that he had finally broken free.
His mind raced back to the days of training—the relentless drills and the cold, calculating eyes of the Novalia family. Each lesson had been a step toward this moment... a moment of freedom that felt more like a curse.
He had learned to harness his power, but it came with a price. The pain, the guilt, and the bloodshed had become as much a part of him as the magic flowing through his veins.
As he pushed deeper into the forest, the moonlight filtering through the canopy was his only guide. He had no destination, only the desperate need to escape. His thoughts turned to the life he had left behind—a life of control and manipulation. Now, as the chill of the night set in, he wondered what lay ahead. Freedom was supposed to be sweet, but all he felt was fear and uncertainty.
He continued running deeper into the forest. He knew the Novalia family would send guards and human weapons after him. They wouldn't let their prized asset slip away so easily. They had trained him to be an elite weapon, and they would stop at nothing to reclaim him.
As he leaped from tree to tree, he began to notice a group of soldiers closing in on him. The group soon had him completely surrounded.
Theodore halted and demanded, "What do you fucking want from me, huh? Leave me alone!"
The leader of the group stepped forward and said, "You must return to the family. If you resist, we will use force."
Theodore pulled out two daggers from their place.
So you want to fight? Alright, we'll give you that."The leader drew his sword and looked back at his soldiers, he noticed the fear in their eyes and thay didn't even drew their swords.
"Fight, you cowards! There are five of us and only one of him!"
But before they could react, Theodore disappeared. He reappeared near the leader, one dagger deflected by the sword while the other cut off the leader's hand. Blood splattered on the ground as the leader jumped back, screaming.
"Attack him, pigs!" the leader shouted in rage.
The others charged, screaming as they rushed at Theodore. He infused his daggers with electricity and darted forward, slicing through the soldiers one by one. They couldn't see him, only the flashes of light and the dying screams of their comrades.
"What is he? Why we can't see him?" one of the soldiers cried out before falling.
The leader, his hand bleeding, tried to regain control. He created a large fireball and hurled it toward Theodore. In response, Theodore summoned water and launched it at the fireball.
(A/N:The leader's fire was epic level and Theodore's water was legend level so he can easily extinguish the fire of the leader)
Steam filled the air as the two elements clashed.
When the steam cleared, Theodore was gone.
"The coward has fled," the leader muttered, falling to his knees.
More soldiers arrived, some tending the leader with Healing magic while others go after Theodore.
He kept running, unsure of where to go. The human weapons squad would likely follow soon, so he headed for higher ground.
The cold wind blew through the trees as he ran. Suddenly, he saw a ball of electricity heading toward him. He dodged it just in time, and the ball split a tree in half.
"I know that hit is yours, Hanzo," Theodore called out, scanning the treetops.
Hanzo's laughter echoed in the night. "Of course. Who else can track you like I can? I can find a needle in a haystack."
"Well, I know you can," Theodore replied, a smirk playing on his lips, trying to hide the fear that gnawed at him.
"And you know I have no mercy. Surrender now," Hanzo's voice dripped with malice, echoing through the clearing.
"When pigs fly... which is never, I'll think about surrendering, you bastard!" Theodore shot back defiantly, flames igniting around him and setting the nearby trees ablaze. The fire illuminated his fierce determination, casting shadows that danced around him.
Hanzo let out a laugh, cold and mocking. "I didn't expect you to surrender anyway."
With resolve coursing through him, Theodore drew his daggers, ready for the fight. He looked up, trying to pinpoint the source of Hanzo's laughter, which echoed through the trees like a haunting melody.
Just as he steadied himself, a sharp pain pierced his side. A slight wound appeared, surprising him. "What the...?" Theodore gasped, eyes darting around in confusion.
Before he could react, he felt more sword blows hitting him from all sides, each strike sharp and relentless. Hanzo was using the shadows to his advantage, attacking from different angles, the darkness concealing his movements. Theodore gritted his teeth, trying to fend off the blows, but the relentless assault was overwhelming.
feeling an itch in his veins that hinted at the power within. He lunged forward, swinging wildly, but the darkness cloaked Hanzo in shadows, making him difficult to see. Blood dripped from the cuts on Theodore's arms, and his clothes were in tatters, evidence of their fierce battle.
"Haha! You can't even see me!" Hanzo taunted, his laughter echoing like a haunting melody.
Panic surged through Theodore's heart. The thought of returning to the family was unbearable, driving him to flee. He ran deeper into the woods, his instincts pushing him away from the danger.
"You're trying to escape from me? Seriously?" Hanzo mocked, his laughter following Theodore like a predator stalking its prey. He moved with unnatural speed, slipping through the trees with ease.
Reaching the edge of a cliff, Theodore stared down at the churning river below, its waters swirling menacingly. He glanced back at Hanzo, who emerged from the shadows with a predatory grin.
"Oh, a dead end, huh?" Hanzo smirked, his eyes glinting with cruel amusement.
Theodore's heart raced as he steadied himself. "Tell the family I'm never coming back. Is that clear?"
Hanzo's smile faltered, replaced by a scowl. "You think you can defy me? I will drag you back, kicking and screaming if I have to!"
With a roar, Hanzo charged forward, fists glowing. Theodore barely dodged, rolling to the side as Hanzo's punch struck the ground, sending shockwaves rippling through the earth. Dust and debris flew into the air, obscuring Theodore's vision.
Shaking off the daze, Theodore surged forward, slashing with his daggers. He landed a hit against Hanzo's side, but the dark warrior merely chuckled, the wound closing almost instantly.
"Is that all you've got?" Hanzo taunted, eyes gleaming with malice. "I expected more from you, Theodore."
Fueled by desperation, Theodore danced around Hanzo, using the trees for cover. He ignited small fires along the forest floor, hoping to slow Hanzo's advance. "You underestimate me, Hanzo! I'm not the same boy you once knew!"
With a swift movement, he unleashed a wave of fire toward Hanzo. The flames roared as they surged forward, but Hanzo raised his hands, conjuring a air magic the fire pushed the flames to the other side. The air around them crackled with tension as they locked eyes, both unwilling to back down.
"I'll show you the true power of human weapons!" Hanzo roared, and created a blue fire swordenergy and he jumped towards Theodore.
Theodore dodged the attacks, but Hanzo kicked Theodore with his feet while using air magic sending him sprawling to the ground. Pain radiated through his body, yet he pushed himself up, fueled by determination.
"You think you can take me down? I will fight until my last breath!" Theodore shouted defiantly, charging at Hanzo once more.
With a fierce cry, he pressed the attack, dodging another flame sword strike and slashing at Hanzo's torso. This time, the dagger found its mark, drawing blood. Hanzo stumbled back, surprise flickering in his eyes.
"You really make me angry you brat!" Hanzo spat, fury igniting within him.
Seeing his chance, Theodore pressed the attack, landing blow after blow, his daggers flashing in the dim light. But Hanzo was relentless, countering with powerful strikes that sent Theodore reeling.
Finally, Hanzo unleashed a surge of electrical energy, blasting Theodore backward into a tree. Dazed, Theodore slid to the ground, breathless and wounded. He looked up just in time to see Hanzo looming over him, a wicked grin stretching across his face.
"Time to end this," Hanzo declared, raising his fist, ready to deliver the final blow.
But Theodore, fueled by sheer will, glanced over the edge of the cliff. The roaring river below reminded him of his desperate choice. In a moment of clarity, he gathered every ounce of strength left in him.
"Tell the family I'm never coming back, I want the freedom.!" Theodore shouted defiantly and leaped off the cliff before Hanzo could react.
"Shit!" Hanzo cursed, rushing to the edge and looking down at the fast-moving river below. But Theodore had already vanished beneath the surface, leaving only ripples in the water.
Moments later, the rest of the squad gathered at the cliff, concern etched on their faces. Some tended to Hanzo, who was a mix of anger and disbelief, while others searched frantically for Theodore downstream.
"He's a fool!" Hanzo growled, fury boiling inside him. "He thinks he can escape me?"
"Hanzo, we need to find him!" one of the squad members urged, scanning the river for any sign of Theodore.
With no other choice, they jumped into action, desperately searching the waters, hoping to find him.
