Elara sat in Ravenor's room, staring out the grand window as the day lazily slipped by. The sky was a pale blue, dotted with wisps of clouds, the sun already beginning its slow descent. Her fingers drummed lightly on the armrest of the velvet couch she'd settled into after wandering aimlessly around the room. The maids had left hours ago after cleaning up her earlier mess, and Lady Seraphine had made sure she was well taken care of. But now, with nothing but time, Elara found herself fidgeting, her thoughts swirling.
Ravenor said he would return by evening. It was now mid-afternoon, and she had no idea what to expect when he arrived. Would he bring more scrolls to sign? Would he mention what had happened earlier, or worse, hold it over her like some humiliating joke?
