Chapter 32 - Whispering Exam 3

As the screens continued to show the scenes from the Whispering Woods, the crowd's excitement and curiosity grew.

Oasis had become the center of attention, his power and potential sparking a mixture of admiration and apprehension among both the audience and the noble families.

Back in the Whispering Woods, Oasis bent down to pick up the beast cores from the fallen goblins, their faint glow a testament to their magical energy.

"What is the Phoenix's Heart Cultivation?" he mused, examining the cores.

"My power feels way stronger, but I need to maintain control. And it seems I can no longer use water magic."

His mind buzzed with questions and possibilities.

He stood up, the realization of his newfound strength both exciting and daunting.

"It's time to get moving," he resolved, tucking the beast cores into his storage bracelet.

With a deep breath, he began to dash through the forest, using his wind magic to move swiftly and silently.

The dense foliage and towering trees blurred past him as he moved.

"This place is vast," he thought, leaping over a fallen log and landing with cat-like grace.

"I need to find more beasts to gather points, but I also need to be cautious. There could be stronger creatures lurking around."

As he navigated the forest, Oasis remained alert, his senses on high.

The dense canopy above filtered the sunlight, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor.

The air was thick with the scent of moss and earth, and the occasional chirping of birds added to the symphony of the woods.

Suddenly, Oasis caught a glimpse of movement to his left. He stopped abruptly, crouching low and blending into the shadows.

Ahead, a group of E-rank mystical beasts, resembling oversized wolves with glowing red eyes, prowled through the underbrush.

These were the Shadowfang Wolves, known for their stealth and ferocity.

"Let me try using fire magic," Oasis thought, recalling how Mira used her fire magic.

Channeling his mana, he felt the energy flow through him.

It felt natural, and for the first time, his aura radiated strongly as he prepared to cast a spell.

Taking a few deep breaths, he concentrated. "Fire Magic: Phoenix Blaze," he called out, unleashing his fire magic for the first time.

To his surprise, the flames were blue, not the typical red or orange.

"Blue flames?" Oasis was taken aback, his eyes widening.

"Why are my flames blue?" he wondered, both amazed and curious about his unique power.

The blue flames danced around his hands, crackling with an intense, purifying heat.

He quickly unleashed the spell towards the pack of Shadowfang Wolves.

The flames roared forward, engulfing the wolves in a torrent of blue fire.

The beasts howled in agony as the flames consumed them, their bodies turning to ash almost instantly.

Oasis stood there, panting slightly, the adrenaline still coursing through him.

He couldn't believe the sheer power of his new magic.

"I didn't expect this much power," he thought, awe-struck by the destruction he had wrought.

Back at the arena, the audience was equally stunned.

The display of blue flames had caught everyone's attention. Draco Ignis stood up, his expression a mix of surprise and intrigue.

!!!

"Blue flames?" he muttered, his eyes narrowing. "Who is this brat?"

In the woods, Oasis took a moment to gather the beast cores from the fallen Shadowfang Wolves.

"It's about to get dark. I need to find a spot for the night. Too bad the wolves are ashes."

"I need to find something to eat before it's dark," Oasis muttered to himself.

He moved swiftly through the forest, finally encountering some F-rank beasts.

He easily dispatched them, taking some meat for his meal, and found a spot to camp.

The spot he chose was a small clearing surrounded by tall trees, their leaves forming a natural canopy overhead.

A small stream flowed nearby, providing fresh water.

The ground was covered in soft moss, making it a comfortable place to rest.

The setting sun cast a warm, golden light, giving the area a serene and peaceful ambiance.

As he was busy eating, Oasis heard movements approaching him from a few meters away.

The sounds grew louder and faster, causing Oasis to become alert and ready to fight.

Just as a shadowy figure emerged from the forest, Oasis moved swiftly, grabbing the intruder by the forehead and nearly smashing them against a nearby tree.

"It's you!" Oasis exclaimed, recognizing the woman he was holding. It was Amilia Frostveil.

"How are you so strong?" Amilia asked, her eyes wide with surprise.

"Wow, I'm really strong. Last time I saw her, I thought we were on the same level, and she was strong," Oasis thought to himself, astonished by his own power.

"I knew he was strong, but not this strong. He's changed a lot after three weeks. Who is this kid?" Amilia thought, equally surprised.

Oasis slowly released his grip, allowing Amilia to stand upright.

"Sorry about that," he said, a bit embarrassed. "I didn't realize it was you."

Amilia brushed herself off, her eyes still studying Oasis with a mix of curiosity and admiration.

"It's fine. I was just caught off guard by your strength. What happened to you in these three weeks?"

Oasis sat back down by his campfire, inviting Amilia to join him.

"Nothing much," he replied nonchalantly, offering her some meat.

He couldn't help but notice how the flickering firelight danced across her features, highlighting her sharp, yet delicate features.

"Wow, she's cute," Oasis thought to himself.

He knew by just looking, she was just a year older than him, yet her maturity and confidence made her seem more seasoned.

Amilia accepted the meat with a small smile.

"Thanks," she said, sitting beside him.

Her silver hair, catching the firelight, shimmered like a cascade of moonlight, contrasting beautifully with the deep green of her eyes.

As she took a bite, she glanced at Oasis with curiosity.
