Ariel really wanted to leave this palace.
As long as she stayed here, Amon could kiss her at any moment.
But every time she tried to leave, even by sneaking out, there would always be a maid who stopped her.
Ariel felt like a princess who had been kidnapped.
Today, in the morning—on the day after fighting Alvis—she was with Amon in a carriage, going somewhere.
"Why do I have to go with you?"
"Because I want to show off to the citizens in the city that I have a beautiful fiance."
For some reason, Ariel felt like she was being treated as a decorative accessory.
During the journey, through the window, Amon accidentally saw Liam flanked by two beauties.
'In such a short time, he already has two girlfriends! Of course, I knew this would happen, but... but... I still feel jealous of him.'
From Amon's perspective, he had a poor relationship with his fiance. Naturally, he felt envious of the happiness Liam had.
But Amon couldn't do anything except bite his fingernails.
After a while, they arrived in front of a quiet antique shop in a deserted area.
Amon got off the horse before extending his hand to help Ariel down.
'At least he knows how to treat a woman.'
That small gesture made Ariel feel slightly better.
They then entered the shop, where they were greeted by the gloomy owner, as if his business was on the verge of bankruptcy.
"...Welcome…"
But his attitude quickly changed when he saw Amon wearing a suit with the sword and crescent moon emblem—the symbol of the Lucerion Clan.
"Young master, welcome to my shop, and happy shopping," he said, straightening his posture.
Amon immediately walked to the only bookshelf in the antique shop.
Meanwhile, Ariel just wandered around.
'What should I do here?'
Amon quickly found the three items he was looking for.
Based on his knowledge as a reader of Miracle Cube, this antique shop had three items that, if their value was known, would shock the world.
However, the shop owner had no idea about their worth. Instead, he offered them at a cheap price.
The first item was the Shadow Dance Technique Book, written by the greatest assassin in history. In the novel, this technique appeared early on, but Liam only used it once. After that, he decided not to use it again because it didn't suit his fighting style.
The second was the Fire Storm Spell Book, written by the Flame Sage.
The third was a spear forged by the gods, feared even by the Death God. This was Liam's main weapon.
After collecting everything, Amon took them to the counter.
"How much is it?"
"Of course, it's free, especially for the Lucerion Clan, who have protected this city. Consider it a small gift from this humble shop owner."
The shopkeeper said this with a forced smile.
'Earlier, he had an expression like his business was about to go under, but now he's giving his products away for free. Still, this is the kind of treatment the Lucerion Clan receives in this city. Even so, as someone who has experienced the lowest social caste, I can't just take it.'
Amon then instructed his maid to give the shopkeeper some gold coins. At the very least, with that money, his business could survive for a few more months, or it could be used to start a new one.
"Thank you very much!"
The shopkeeper bowed as he watched Amon's carriage drive away.
"What's gotten into you?"
Ariel was surprised by Amon's behavior now. The old Amon wouldn't hesitate to rob a shop, but now he was giving extra money to the owner.
"That's none of your business."
There's no way he could say that he was someone from Earth who had taken over Amon's body. That was his greatest secret, which he would never reveal to anyone.
"For some reason, I feel like I was tricked yesterday."
"There was no trickery."
"I didn't know you were that strong. Have you been hiding your power all this time?"
"That's not something you need to know."
"If I had known Alvis would lose, I wouldn't have bet with you."
"Gambling is like that. Regret always comes at the end. While there's enjoyment for the winner like me, there's none for the loser."
Ariel snorted and turned her face away, ending the conversation.
Suddenly, Amon saw Liam again. He immediately threw the spear he had just bought—Holy Spear—at Liam.
"Just take the spear."
With the spear in his hands, Liam was left confused as Amon's carriage moved further away.
Liam was supposed to obtain the Holy Spear later in the story, but Amon gave it to him now not just to lessen his guilt for taking the Miracle Cube. In truth, Amon had a larger reason—one that went beyond simple guilt.
Seeing her fiance's actions, Ariel couldn't help but pout.
'That boy again! What's so special about him?!'
Amon noticed Ariel puffing her cheeks.
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing!" Ariel replied without looking at Amon.
"What is this! Are you jealous? Look at yourself, you wanted to end our engagement! So what's the point of me giving you a gift?"
"Even so, I'm still your fiance. You shouldn't give gifts to another guy right in front of me."
"He's a guy, not a girl."
"Men can love men too, right?"
"I'm not gay! If I were gay, there's no way I would kiss you."
"Maybe you're bisexual!"
"I'm normal! I'm straight! Even my penis is straight!"
Amon shook his head and massaged his own forehead.
He once heard people say it was better to be single than to have a girlfriend.
He used to curse at those who said that because he was just a fat, unattractive guy.
But now, he understood what they meant.
'Yesterday, she wanted to break off the engagement, but now she wants me to give her a gift? This is ridiculous!'
Suddenly, the carriage stopped abruptly, causing Ariel's body to be thrown into his arms, as if pulled forward by some invisible force.
Looking out the window, Amon clicked his tongue as he realized who was responsible.
'Tch! That rapist bastard!'
