Chapter 1 - Lieselotte: Destiny

"Honey, you belong to me now," Lieselotte whispered, her breath hot against Katelynn's ear, sending a shiver down her spine and making her step back.

The crowd erupted into playful boos and cheers, waving glow sticks and light-up signs, all chanting Lieselotte's name in excitement.

Amidst the noise of the crowd, the pulsating music, and the rhythmic tapping of glow sticks, Katelynn's focus locked onto the black envelope in her hand. The dark red wax seal seemed to burn under the spotlight, and the words "Congratulations!" echoed over and over in her mind.

She had won the prize—a chance to kiss Lieselotte.

Katelynn couldn't believe it. She stared up at Lieselotte, who towered above her. Moving carefully, Lieselotte tilted Katelynn's chin with a single finger and kissed her without hesitation.

The roar of the crowd reached a fever pitch as they screamed and cheered, losing themselves in the moment.

Katelynn stood frozen, staring into the face of the stunning woman before her. Lieselotte's long, wavy hair cascaded down to her waist, and some strands even brushed Katelynn's shoulders due to how close they were. The gentle tickle of her hair on Katelynn's cheek made her feel slightly dizzy, while the soft, white fabric of Lieselotte's dress lightly grazed her fingertips.

Katelynn didn't say a word. She was mesmerized—by Lieselotte's fluttering eyelashes, the sweet raspberry scent on her lips, and the faint, unexpected taste of blood mixed in.

The crowd's noise seemed to fade away, and for a brief moment, Katelynn was completely absorbed in the kiss, even though she barely knew this superstar. Her hands instinctively rested on Lieselotte's waist.

Katelynn wasn't the social type. She worked as a web developer at Oria Cosmetics, where she kept to herself and rarely spoke. Her life was a simple routine: work, home, and sometimes a café or park on the weekends. People at work thought she was strange and often avoided her.

Just yesterday, her company held an anniversary raffle. Katelynn had her sights set on the second prize—a Eurail Pass. First prize was tickets to a concert by Lieselotte, a pop star Katelynn didn't even know.

When the first prize winner was announced, the whole office cheered. Katelynn, not knowing who Lieselotte was, stood quietly in the corner. Her number, 77, was called next. She opened her note, and there it was—Lieselotte's name written on the paper.

She felt disappointed. When the camera zoomed in on her note, the room let out a collective groan. Some people even left.

Katelynn couldn't understand the appeal of Lieselotte. Was it her beauty? Her voice? Or maybe something deeper that drew everyone in?

After claiming the tickets, she slipped them into her notepad and made her way out, hoping to avoid the sudden buzz around her. But word of her win spread quickly through the company forum, and by the time she was in the elevator, a group of guys were talking excitedly about her lucky score. Others were sarcastic, clearly jealous.

Katelynn stepped off the elevator, grateful for her escape, and caught her usual bus home. It was mostly empty, as usual.

She put in her earbuds, opened her music app, and let her mind wander. After a few songs, an unfamiliar voice came through her headphones. Curious, she glanced at her screen and saw the name: Lieselotte.

"Huh, that's the pop star?" Katelynn muttered, listening to the song "Destiny."

She hadn't cared about celebrities in years, but something about Lieselotte's voice stirred something inside her. The song, with its gentle piano, the sound of rain, and the rhythm of footsteps on fallen leaves, captured her. Lieselotte's voice was ethereal, starting calm, growing wild, and finally settling into a quiet peace.

For the first time, Katelynn felt a spark of curiosity. Maybe she would go to the concert.

Powder Room

In the dressing room backstage, a makeup artist was busy applying glitter near Lieselotte's eyes. Lieselotte absentmindedly played with a lipstick tube engraved with black roses, pressing it to her lips now and then. The tube had a hidden latch in the middle, which clicked open with a snap.

Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the hall. A woman rushed in and handed Lieselotte a black envelope. Lieselotte's lashes trembled slightly, and she paused.

"Is she coming tonight?" Lieselotte asked quietly.

"She's already here," the woman replied softly, then turned and left.

Lieselotte's face lit up with a quiet smile, her heart racing. Even the makeup artist noticed how flushed she was, wondering why her cheeks were turning pink before any blush was applied.

But Lieselotte was already lost in her thoughts.

She's here.

Katelynn made her way through the crowd and found her seat—row 7, front and center. The soft blue glow of the stage lights felt oddly comforting, almost like lying in a familiar field under the stars. Despite the noise of the concert, she felt strangely at peace.

"Excuse me, can I get through?" A girl's voice behind her snapped Katelynn out of her trance, and she quickly moved to sit down.

The girl who sat next to her was practically bouncing with excitement, placing her bag beside her and glancing at Katelynn.

"Are you a fan of Lieselotte?" Katelynn asked awkwardly, immediately feeling silly for asking.

"Yes! I've been a fan for seven years! These front-row tickets were so hard to get, but I finally get to see her!" the girl gushed, patting her legs in excitement.

"What kind of person is she?" Katelynn asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"She's... mysterious but warm. You never know what surprise she'll pull next. She might drop a new song out of nowhere or vanish for months, but when she comes back, it's with a bang. We fans are used to it—whatever makes her happy." The girl's eyes glistened with tears.

Katelynn handed her a tissue, her mind spinning with questions about this superstar who seemed to captivate everyone. She hadn't been this curious about anyone in a long time. It had been years since she let herself feel anything deeply, probably since her parents abandoned her or when no one showed up to her parent-teacher meetings. That quiet, lonely childhood had drained her of hope.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed, and the once-noisy venue fell silent.

The sound of high heels echoed through the arena as the spotlight illuminated the stage.

"Hey, everyone~ How's it going? I'm Lieselotte," her voice rang out, and the crowd erupted. Glow sticks and signs lit up, creating a sea of blue light.

Katelynn looked over at the girl next to her, now sobbing but still waving her glow stick. Feeling out of place, Katelynn awkwardly picked up her own glow stick and began to wave it.

"This next song is my last for tonight—'Destiny,'" Lieselotte announced, stepping onto the stage in a flowing white gown with black roses lining the hem. She looked like a porcelain doll, both delicate and fierce.

The opening notes of the piano made Katelynn's heart skip a beat. It was that song—the one that had played on her playlist. The song that made her want to know more about Lieselotte.

As the soft light bathed Lieselotte in a warm glow, she sang, her long hair falling over her face. Her voice moved from a quiet confession of "Love You" to a passionate cry, filling every corner of the arena.

Katelynn's eyes filled with tears as the song reached its peak. She couldn't explain it, but it felt like she had heard this song before, like someone had once confessed their love to her in the same way. But why did it feel so distant and heartbreaking?

 "Who are you?"
