"Hey! Come on, over here! I found a huge conch!" Grace waved wildly, holding a conch to her ear.
"A conch? Where? I'm coming!" Lieselotte sprinted toward Grace, excitement lighting up her face. Katelynn followed behind, sighing like a weary parent trailing two overexcited kids.
"Katelynn, hurry up!" Lieselotte called, waving her hands in the air. Katelynn couldn't help but smile. The sight of Lieselotte bouncing around with a bright yellow duck-shaped pool float around her waist was hilarious.
"You look ridiculous," Katelynn teased, her laughter slipping out.
"Ridiculous? This ducky float is adorable!" Lieselotte pouted and gave the float a playful shake. She'd practically had to beg the store owner to sell it to her. When the adult-sized float she wanted wasn't available, Lieselotte had snatched the child-sized one without hesitation. The shop owner's confused look hadn't phased her. "What, adults can't use a pool float?" she'd said, defiant.
