"Why people always end up stuck in front of the menu?"
"That's only you..."
"So what if I am picky about my food?"
"I have no problem with that. But, we are at the food court and please be consider about the long ass line behind you!"
Han glares a line behind him. That's quite a long one. He grins as he places his order on the counter. The hawker gives him a sharp glare before proceed with the order.
Meanwhile, Pan enjoys her prawn noodles silently at the table, waiting for the legendary picky eater a.ka Han. As she was about to check on him, a figure stands in front of her and smile.
"This is the last place I expected to see you, Pan," says Cray. Pan immediately slurps her noodles in shock.
"What are you doing here?"
"Supper after a group discussion. Are you alone?"
"Nope. Han is over there, waiting for his order," Pan points out her finger at Han. The boy is coming towards them right now with an ice coffee with him.
"Aou, Cray!"
"Hi!" Cray greets him with a smile. Han casually takes a seat across Pan.
"Care to join us?"
Pan knocks Han's feet with her knee. The boy frowns and later tries to take his revenge by pointing his two fingers at her.
"I would love to, but my friends-"
Cray didn't have a chance to explain when a lady suddenly appears from behind. She wears her snobbish face that makes Han almost chew his straw.
"Cray, everyone is here. Come!"
The man blinks his eyes while looking at the lady. He looks reluctant to go, but it seems like he has no choice but to leave.
"Come..." the girls starts pulling his white shirt's hem aggressively.
"We'll.. catch up later, Pan!" Cray's voice chimes from afar. Pan nods and smile at him. Then, she turns her head at Han.
"That girl is fashionably tasteless!" Han complains. Pan shakes her head in tiny while laughing.
"Did you managed to get Yara?" Han asks.
"Yep. On the way here with Aye Yi."
Han lifts his brow and smirks.
"Well... Well..."
Pan slaps Han's head a bit before laughing. This very friend is a real teaser.
They continue eating and chatting with each other while waiting for Yara and Aye Yi.
"I think it's a bit too late to stay up, freshies..."
Their conversation got interrupted by someone.
"Senior Zee! Hi!" Han greets him cheerfully. Pan glares at Zee, who looks a bit wear out with his dark blue corporate suits.
"Hello..." Zee replies in short. He glares at Pan who sits still on her chair.
"You don't wanna greet your senior anymore?" Zee throws some snarky remarks, purposely pointing on Pan. Han stomps her feet a bit so she can at least gives a response to Zee.
"Greetings, Senior Zee..." With a half hearted, Pan greets him.
"Greetings. By the way, am I interrupt you two?" Zee asks.
"Interrupt? We just having a late dinner like you!" Han gives Zee a huge grin.
"In that case, I think it's okay for me to join you two..."
"Be our guest, senior!"
Great....
Pan glares at Han. Her desires to choke the man to death has submerge inside. The man knows their situation, yet he still chose drama over her feelings.
"I'm gonna fix your brain later, friend..." Pan gives him a huge sarcastic grin while twisting her finger on Han's forearm skin. The man winces in pain. But they still can exchange laughter and act like nothing is happen under the table.
"Let me order first. Do you wanna add more food?" Zee asks.
"Nope. We're good..." Han nods. Zee leaves them for a moment to order his food when Yara and Aye Yi finally arrive at the food court.
"What took you so long?" asks Pan.
"Traffic, obviously!" Yara sighs. She casually takes her seat next to Pan, facing Han in front of her. Meanwhile, Aye Yi grabs another chair and sits next to Pan, and the end of the table.
That means, the seat next to Han is empty.
"Why don't you sit there?" asks Yara.
"Lighting. It's dimmer here. Besides, I wanna good view while eating," Aye Yi smirks. Yara rolls her eyes up. Han grins like a fool while looking at her.
"What, are you jealous?"
Instead of using words to reply to Han, Yara takes a pair of chopstick and stabs his free hand. But, the man manages to dodge it, making the two start a childish, unnecessary war.
"You guys better start ordering some food or eat by yourself because we're almost done," says Pan calmly.
"We did. See..." Yara flashes her phone.
"I don't know we can order online!" Han gasps. Yara grins at him before stick out her tongue.
"So, we'll just have to wait for the food..."
"Chicken noodles and fish porridge?"
A waiter stops by at their table. Aye Yi nods.
"Cafe Latte and Pink Milk?"
"Here you go. Enjoy the food," the waiter serves their food gracefully. Pan helps Yara handing the hot chicken noodles at Aye Yi. While doing that, their fingers subtly graze at each other.
"Well... I think, I can sleep well tonight," Aye Yi winks at Pan. She looks at him in shock. This man is a serious flirt boy.
"With that portion, you might sleep like a log," a voice rings their ears, making Pan jumps a bit on her seat.
It's Zee with a plate of fried rice and a glass of Americano. He takes his seat across Pan, making him so clear by her sight.
"Zee..."
"Aye Yi..."
What an awkward greetings! Pan gushes by herself.
"Senior, are you two in the same year? Why you didn't address Senior Zee as your senior?" Han asks. Aye Yi glares at Zee, hook up his brows while giving him a snare look.
"I know Zee as a friend. So, I won't address him as my senior," replies Aye Yi. Zee silently eats his food, no much words coming out from him.
They continue with their dinner in a calm atmosphere. No one dares to sabotage the mood as they are in public right now. Subsequencely, Aye Yi tries to have a decent conversation with Pan. The girl is generous enough to reply to him in manners.
"Here... Try this meatball..."
Pan tries her best to say no, but Aye Yi insists.
"Pan doesn't eat meatball," says Zee. All eyes on him now. Pan frowns as she gives Zee a light kick on his feet under the table.
"What a very useful information, Senior! You seem to know our friend more than us..." Han gives Pan a look. The girl frowns, feeling divided.
"Perhaps you should be more alert to her next time," without even bothering to answer Han's inquiry, Zee continues to eat.
"How can I? I'm not even her boyfriend..." Han gushes between his chew.
After a while, the table continues to indulge their supper. The conversation slowly decreases, more munching sound rather than chatting. Though for some of them, the question still lingers on the air.
Zee glares at Pan, who already finished her meal. She waits patiently for others while sipping her drink slowly.
Out of blue, a waiter approaches the table and serves a plate of sticky rice with mango and coconut cream.
"Excuse me, but we didn't order it..." Pan pushes the plate a bit from her.
"It's a treat from a man from that table..."
The kind waiter points out to the other side of the food court. From afar, Pan sees someone is looking at her while smiling.
It's Cray.
"Ah..." She lost words.
"Wah... Somebody got a treat!" Yara teases Pan. She smiles in faint. Glaring at Zee who is looking at Cray with a sharp note.
"Can you pack this for me?" Pan asks the waiter. The girl nods and takes the plate away to the counter.
"His heart stuck in here even though his body is far away... What a romantic man!" Han gushes a bit and grins widely.
"Shut up and eat..." Pan sneers. Han giggles before he continues finishing his meal.
"So, you like sticky rice with mango?" asks Aye Yi. Pan nods and smile.
"Yeah... I love it! I ate a lot when I got-"
Pan shuts immediately. She almost smack her mouth. It's almost this close of her to blown up her secret.
"Got what?" Yara asks her innocently.
"Got... Got..."
"Mango has season, right? Maybe Pan ate them a lot when she got a bunch of stock from home, isn't it?" Zee helps Pan subtly. He wipes his mouth with some tissue and lays back casually.
"Yeah! Yes..." Pan lets an awkward laugh escapes from her mouth.
"You seems to know her too much, Senior..."
"I love sticky rice and mango too. You can eat a lot when it's a mango season," he replies, while his eyes lock at Pan.
The girl thanked him in discreet.
"Shall we got now?" Pan asks. Everyone nods and finally, after some awkward moment, they leave the table, with Pan carrying the takeout along with her.
I should text Cray later! She smiles by herself.
