Chapter 31 - CHAPTER 31

Marcus's pov

I open the message from Alex. The content of the message is not what I expected.

"I know I am the last person you want to get advice from but I am talking from experience. It is completely understandable to feel anxious about potentially losing Juliana, especially when considering sharing sensitive information about your past. However, it is important to remember that honesty and transparency are essential for a healthy and strong relationship.

When approaching Juliana to share this information, try to choose a private and comfortable setting for your conversation. Be honest about your feelings for her and express your devotion to her. Acknowledge that the revelation may be difficult for her to hear and offer her space to process her emotions.

It is also crucial to communicate that your past is exactly that - in the past. Reassure Juliana of your commitment to her and your desire to build a future together.

Remember that while the truth may be difficult to share, ultimately, it can lead to a deeper level of trust and understanding in your relationship. I don't want what happened between Becky and me to happen to you and Juliana. Good luck, and I hope the conversation goes well for you." I feel a wave of emotions wash all over me Alex rarely talks about his ex-wife. The only thing I know is that he is the reason why they divorced.

"Hey, Marcus are you okay?" Juliana asks, touching my cheeks.

"Yes...yes, I am fine."

"I have been talking to you but you didn't seem to hear me."

"Oh, I was just thinking about a problem I have at work."

"I hope it's nothing serious."

"It's nothing I can't handle, come on let's go and have breakfast. I have already prepared it."

"Wow, I can get used to this, eating food prepared by you." I feel a surge of happiness after seeing the happiness on her face. I want her to always be this happy.

As we sit down to eat, I can't help but feel grateful for Juliana's presence in my life. She brings so much joy and light into my world, and I can't imagine a day without her by my side. I promise myself that I will do everything in my power to protect her and keep her safe from any harm. I feel at peace when I am with Juliana, and I know that she is the one for me. I will do everything in my power to make her happy and to show her how much she means to me.

I know that I am the luckiest man in the world to have her in my life, and I will never take her for granted. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her, loving her and cherishing her every day. Juliana is my everything, and I will always protect her and keep her safe.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asks me.

"I am just thinking about how lucky I am to have you," I tell truthfully.

"I am the lucky one."

"That's debatable."

"Mmmm, I see." She says with a smile.

"Babydoll, how would you feel to go to a fundraising gala with me?" I have been wanting to ask her to go to the gala with me since my father's call.

"You are hosting a fundraising gala?"

"My father is hosting it, it's a charity event hosted to commemorate my mother. The money that people donate goes to the Katelyn Foundation, Which was named after my mother."

"That's amazing Murcus, I will surely accompany you. When is the gala?"

"It's on the second of October."

"Marcus, that's two weeks from now, I need to find a nice dress and shoes. I also need to book a slot at my favorite beauty salon."

"Don't worry about that I will arrange everything. I will tell my stylist to find you everything you need." I treasure her.

"Thank you." She says, giving me a peck.

"We can go and get ready for work, Beth and Sara are coming today. They will come and clean the table."

"Marcus but that's not okay. I can at least help to put it in the sink." I look at her and I can't help but smile. If there was someone in her place they would have just agreed with me.

"That's no problem, Miss Juliana, I will clean it." I hear Beth say behind me. I turn around and see her and Sara coming towards us.

"Good morning," I hear Juliana greet them.

"Good morning ma'am, how are you?" They both greet her.

"I am good thanks, how are you?"

"We are fine."

"Beth, I told you last time to just call me Juliana."

"It's out of habit I will start practicing with you by your name."

"That would be great, but are you sure I don't need to help with the dishes?"

"We are going to manage Juliana, don't worry," Sara tells her. I take Juliana's hand and go upstairs to get ready.

After dropping off Juliana at her office I head to my company. I don't know when I will have a chance to tell her about my past. I need to tell her before someone else does. If that were to happen I don't know if she could ever forgive me. I know it happened in the past but she still has the right to know about it.

I spend the day working, my mind constantly going back to the conversation I had with Maggie and that bastard. I can't believe that bastard had the nerve to tell me that he has a connection with my baby doll. But I also can't shake off the feeling of unease about telling Juliana the truth about my past. I know I need to do it, but I am afraid of how she will react.

As the day comes to an end, I pick up Juliana from her office and we head home. We spend the evening relaxing together, watching a movie, and enjoying each other's company. I know I need to find the right time to talk to her, but I can't seem to find the courage to do it. She looks so happy right now I don't want to take this happiness from her.

As we lay in bed, Juliana cuddled up against me, I realize that I can't keep this secret from her any longer. I need to tell her the truth, no matter how difficult it may be. I take a deep breath and turn to face her.

"Babydoll, there's something I need to tell you."

"What is it, Marcus? Is everything okay?" She looks up at me with concern in her eyes.

"I...I need to tell you about how beautiful you look tonight." I tell her with a smile on my face, I just can't get myself to tell her the truth tonight.

"Thank you, Marcus, you always make me feel special. I don't want you to ever change."

"I will always treat you like this because you deserve every good thing in life." She does deserve to be treated like a queen but I don't think I deserve to be her king.

"Thank you, I love you, Marcus."

"I love you more babydoll."

As we drift off to sleep, I am filled with a sense of contentment. I am determined to always protect her, treasure her, and love her with all my heart. Because she is my everything, and I can't imagine a life without her by my side.
