Tonight everyone seemed to be gathered in a ballroom for a celebration.
I, Isabella Anderson, walked down the stairs to join the others. As the music began to play, couples began to dance.
Finally, my steps stopped when I saw my mate dancing intimately with my own cousin, Daisy Reeves. Feeling jealous, I approached them, but instead of being defended, I was yelled at by Xavier Smith, the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, who was also my mate.
"Why did you push her?" Xavier looked at me sharply.
I was stunned. "I should be the one to ask, why are you dancing with her? You should be with me because I'm your mate and also your Luna."
Daisy made a sad face and hugged Xavier's arm. "But I love you, don't you?"
Xavier smiled softly at Daisy, something Xavier had never shown me before. My heart skipped a beat, jealous of what they were doing.
"Xav..."
"I've had enough of you, Isabella..." Xavier said as he looked at me.
I had a bad feeling that would change my life. "No Xavier, not here."
Xavier opened his voice as everyone at the party looked at us. "I, Xavier Smith, Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, reject you, Isabella Anderson, as my mate and also as my Luna."
My eyes widened as Xavier boldly rejected me in front of everyone, my legs gave out and I fell, tears streaming down my cheeks.
I quickly wiped them away and hugged one of Xavier's legs. "I don't want to, Xavier... Please don't leave me, I have no one else."
Xavier remained firm in his decision. "I don't care!"
"I've always tried to be a good Luna for everyone, so please don't be like this. Take back what you said," I begged.
Xavier laughed, followed by Daisy. "What have you done? You're nothing but a useless wolf, you can't even change shape." Xavier touched my hair. "Look, your hair is so white, you look so strange."
Daisy said, "How embarrassing! Having a cousin like you."
"Don't waste time! Agree and accept my decision," Xavier said firmly.
I tried to stand up and put my palms together with Xavier's. "I, Isabella Anderson, accept your decision, Xavier Smith, to end the relationship between us."
Daisy looked very happy, her hand pushed me away from Xavier. "Now you are nothing here, please leave! No one will accept you here. Your parents are gone and we have no relationship, you are nothing more than an adopted child of my aunt and uncle."
With my weakened body and soul, I began to leave the palace where I had been living for the past few months. I felt so indecisive, I didn't know where to go, while outside the palace was surrounded by a dense forest, and I was afraid of meeting the rogues.
But I can't stay here, I have no place to go.
The heels I was wearing began to feel uncomfortable, so I threw them away, rocks and dry branches slowly scraped my feet, causing stings, but not as painful as Xavier rejecting me in front of everyone.
I took a deep breath and looked up at the moon shining down tonight.
"Why is the moon goddess so evil! Destining all this to me. I can't change into shewolf form, I can't even feel her presence. And what is this?" I touched my very white hair. "My hair is white, like a witch's."
I paused for a moment. "Or maybe I am a witch?" Again I shook my head. "But no way, I am even that weak, there is no witch blood in me. I remember very well when my birth mother left me in front of my mom and dad's house, and she was a wolf."
My footsteps stopped at the end of the ravine, and I sat down on one of the big rocks and watched the night grow darker and darker.
But suddenly I heard a noise from behind me, my focus was on the bushes that were swaying there.
Anxiously, I picked up a piece of wood that was lying nearby, my hands gripping it tightly as I felt a bead of sweat begin to dampen my temples.
Suddenly, a rogue jumped at me, followed by two others.
"Rogue," I whispered quietly.
I really gave up at this point, dealing with rogues while I was a weak shewolf.
I backed away slowly, but still raised the wood I was holding.
"Don't come any closer or I'll hit you all."
The rogue at the front laughed at me and said, "Go ahead! I'm not afraid of a weak wolf like you."
Obviously, he knew that because all wolves have a keen sense of smell, it was only natural that he would not heed my warning as long as he could not smell the wolf in me.
I tightened my grip on the wood even more, until finally the rogue lunged at me and let me fall with the rogue on top of me.
I could feel my wrists begin to sting from the grip of his sharp nails.
"I give up," I thought as I closed my eyes.
Suddenly I felt light as a huge wolf pounced on the rogue who was hurting me.
I spontaneously opened my eyes, surprised to see a big black wolf about to sink its claws into the rogue under its grip, with its red eyes I saw how cruel the wolf was.
In panic, I tried to get up and run away from the wolf, which was probably even more ferocious than before.
But just a few steps away, a pair of hands suddenly clasped my stomach.
"Don't go," a man said in a heavy voice.
My heart pounded with my still body, time seemed to stand still when he said that.
Meanwhile, the man seemed to sensually inhale the scent from the hollow of my neck.
"My mate," he whispered again.
I was too confused by all this, until finally my head felt dizzy and I lost consciousness.
