You tell the whole story. Elton only nods, sipping his tea, then tells you to start again.
As you do: "And it was the horse that talked?" Elton asks when you go over that part again.
"I'm sure of it," you say.
"Could the flies talk?" Elton asks.
"I never thought to ask them anything," you confess, sipping your tea. You don't know how tea is supposed to taste, but this stuff isn't bad. "But afterward, when the Stormcat appeared—"
You told this part before and Elton showed surprise, but did not comment. Now he says, "I wonder if the Stormcat sent you to save your pack leader, or rather to do something actually important."
"Well, when Clay said Scarper killed the Bane, and started to eat the horseflesh—" you start to say.
"This Clay was a fool and he deserves the death that's coming to him," Elton says. "Do you even want to save him, Cale Falck X?"
"Yes! He raised me. He taught me the Litany."
"If you had seen him, you wouldn't say that. Clay was a tough old bastard, and this just chewed through him."
"Clay was a shit, but I plan to stop whatever infection is coming out of this town before it spreads."
"Couldn't care less. But we can't escape our obligations, Shadow Lord."
