Chapter 14 - 4

**Chapter 4: The Awakening of Fury**

It was a normal day at school, and physical education class was in session. The students had fun running and exercising on the field, but for Brenner Souka, this activity was a constant struggle. He always felt like a fish out of water among the others, and the pressure to fit in was overwhelming. As he tried to focus on the exercises, his mind wandered to Lara. The thought of her was an anchor amidst the chaos that seemed to dominate his life.

However, this tranquility was abruptly interrupted. Lucas, the school bully, known for his constant teasing, decided it was time for another "game" with Brenner. Since he was four years old, Lucas and his group of followers had made Brenner's life hell, and he had had enough. With a mischievous smile, Lucas approached Brenner, surrounded by his henchmen, ready to watch the show.

"Hey, giant! Did you think you could escape my hands? Look, the baby is daydreaming!" Lucas scoffed, laughing loudly. Brenner felt a chill run down his spine, but instead of letting fear take over, he remembered Lara. "Don't be weak," his own inner voice whispered, a mantra he tried to repeat every day.

But Brenner was not prepared for what was to come next. Lucas, in one swift movement, shoved him in the back, making him lose his balance. When Brenner turned around, Lucas was already attacking him, throwing punches and kicks. The cruel laughter of his friends echoed in his ears, and the physical pain mixed with the contempt he already knew so well.

Amidst this storm of violence and mockery, something inside Brenner began to break. He remembered Lara, how she had never hurt him, and it lit a flame of fury inside him. In a moment of clarity, he grabbed Lucas's neck with a strength he didn't even know he possessed. With an unexpected thrust, he lifted the bully off the ground with one hand, his eyes glowing brightly, as if an unknown energy was awakening within him. Brenner's blank stare turned to a focus of rage. He slammed Lucas's head into the ground with unbridled force, the hardness of the floor echoing the sound of the impact. Each blow was a release, a silent scream against years of pain and humiliation. He continued to slam the bully's head into the ground, his screams of rage and despair echoing across the court. "You can't hurt me anymore!" was what he wanted to scream. After ten devastating impacts, Brenner, overcome with rage, lifted Lucas and, with an explosive movement, threw him off the court. The bully crashed into a classroom window, glass flying through the air as he fell to the ground. The silence that followed was deafening. All the students were paralyzed, staring at Brenner with wide eyes, a mixture of fear and admiration written all over their faces.

However, as he looked out over the crowd, his eyes met Lara's. What should have been a moment of victory quickly turned into a nightmare. The fear he saw in her eyes made his heart drop. Tears began to stream down his cheeks as he realized what he had done. The power he had felt turned to horror, and the euphoria was replaced by deep regret.

Brenner turned away, unable to look anyone in the eye, and walked off the court. What should have been a moment of liberation became a bitter reminder that there was a fine line between strength and lack of control. He did not want to be seen as a monster, even if he had defended himself. The feeling of having scared Lara was unbearable, and with tears in his eyes, Brenner left the school, feeling the weight of his actions and the disillusionment that would stay with him for a long time.
