Morrigan stood in the armory, checking and loading her weapons. The familiar weight of her pistol in her hand provided a small measure of comfort as she slid it into its holster. She reached for a combat knife, testing its edge before securing it to her thigh.
The door opened behind her, and William's reflection appeared in the polished metal of the weapons rack.
"You sure about this?" he asked, leaning against the doorframe.
Morrigan didn't turn around. "No, but it needs to be done."
She grabbed a set of throwing knives, slipping them into the hidden sheaths in her jacket. The soft click of metal on metal filled the silence between them.
William stepped further into the room. "I could send a team with you. Federation security's no joke."
