Jean-Claude arched an eyebrow. "Curiosity isn't your position right now, Ms. Rousseau."
"Humor me."
He leaned back in his chair, tapping a finger against the table in thought. "Very well. I'll indulge your mind. Besides, I like having these kinds of conversations."
"Well, what about it."
He took a sip, then set the glass down before his fingers lingered on the rim. "The experiments, my dear, are merely stepping stones to something greater—something humanity has always craved but never truly understood."
